Disappointed
Bedford, MADisappointed by inablity to swim in lake
Left on 08/19/2011 for a stay in August 2011
House is comfortable and reasonably well equipped, although not up to what I would expect for a $2700/week rental.
However, if you wish a place where you can swim in the lake, avoid this property. Once you are two or three feet from the shore, the bottom is so gunky/mucky that you sink in over six inches, and have a hard time pulling your foot free. Walking out to where the water is deep enough to swim is almost impossible. The water around the dock is too shallow to dive in, and the dock is too high above the water to climb out if you do jump in - there is no ladder. Ok for boating, but definitely not for swimming.Response from Preferred Vacation Rentals - 03/13/2013

Danville, NHWonderful house with nice lake for boating and fishing.
Left on 08/26/2010 for a stay in August 2010
The house was delightful and great for families with kids (the downstairs family room is perfect for a rainy day of movies and play). The view is beautiful and the lake was nice for boating and fishing. The only negative was that the water was "muddy" and sucked in shoes and sand toys. The children had fun on the beach, but didn't spend much time in the water.

A renter
Needham, MAAn ok house
Left on 10/12/2009 for a stay in August 2009
We had a negative experience with the rental agency. I was on a week long
vacation when they called me to put a deposit down on our regular house, in
the weeks time they gave away our house to the owners. This house was
going to be our 3rd summer stay. The owners would not give us the week we
needed/requested on the postcard and we were forced to take this other
house. A few weeks later, because of the bad vacation rental economy of
course, the rental agency called to say our original house was available the
week we wanted! WOW!! Too bad they already rented us another house, they
should have realized this. Also, do they think I would rent this house from the
owners who would not budge originally when I asked to have our preferred
week, then panicked with low rentals and said ok weeks later? This was
insulting to me. The house we rented instead was ok, not great. We do not
want it again and are deciding if we want to rent again at all next summer.
