Summer Renter
MassachusettsGreat House for Large Families or Groups
Left on 08/29/2012 for a stay in August 2012
The house was spacious with lots of common areas to gather. Kitchen was large and accomodated a large group. Overall, house was appointed well and generally clean. Cons: accouting for it being in the woods, surprising number of spiders / insects / cob webs; some broken faucets / fixtures. Water front excellent; only cons, a bit too much shade on land (dock had sun) and lack of level land / playing area. Overall - would rent again but would be nice to see above deficiencies corrected.

2 of the 3 bathrooms didn't work. The beds were old and not comfortable. We left early. The company that leased this preferred rentals when we called them knew of the issues but hadn't addressed them before. The hot water was out, repair guy came the 2nd day to fix it but we were 1 day without hot water

Thank you for bringing these items to our attention. When we are made aware of problems, we try very hard to provide our guests with above and beyond services. I'm sorry we missed the mark with the issues found at the house. We will review ALL issues with the owner and will make sure this does not occur again. Sincerely, Shannon Allan, Manager, Preferred Vacation Rentals, Inc.

Tiverton RIWe love this home - but it is not for everyone!
Left on 08/17/2011 for a stay in August 2011
Hello,
This is our second stay here! This is a lovely home, overlooking the lake with a great beach and dock. It is great that they allow dogs, and I have to tell you that both times I have stayed each renter made sure that the next one renting never knew a dog existed including me! So if you don't have one, no worries, you won't know one was there.
It is expensive to rent and the deposit is hefty, so if you are thinking this is a party home, it is not - that is what we love about it! It is a high end home with great views and neighbors, so it is not a great spot for party goers.
While we couldn't be happier, you should know the following:
the shower faucets need help, hoping if we rent next this again this is fixed - two years in a row it has been a challenge, nothing worse than worrying if it can be shut off properly with no drips (my husband was great at this). But, honestly for what we paid this was a dissapointment and we were not happy to see that this was still an issue. Oweners, please fix this!
The neighbors use the trash bins and this can be problematic for you. We had to sort their trash, and take some home with us because we used alot of paper products and didn't want others to find what we found when we got there - the trash was full and unsorted. The neighbors are nice, but keep in mind the owner pays for the trash. We didn't say anything but really we should have!
Overall, a lovely home, secluded but not so much so! It is pricey but we love the home itself. We recommend this home to families looking for a nice place to relax and enjoy the views!
If you are looking for a bargain or a deal, this is not the home for you.

Atlanta, GAFamily Vacation 2011
Left on 07/28/2011 for a stay in July 2011
Location and beach were super, the lake as clean as can be, the house very comfortable, room with bunkbeds for grandkids was great. Weather was extremely hot, could have used some extra fans, screens did not close tightly, so bugs inside were plentiful. One toiletpaper roll for 3 bathrooms at arrival was very minimal, but you made up for it when we asked for more. Please check light bulbs -quite a few were out. Missed instructions how to use appliances such as washer, dishwasher, which were very temperamentful. Also had issues with the fridge, which was sitting too far back, which caused the freezer door to not close properly (which we finally found out after we had lost a lot of frozen items). Overall a great week, but fairly expensive, considering the above remarks.

The little kids loved the small sandy beach and canoe. Except for the motor boat noise, the location away from congestion was excellent.
However, there are insufficient lamps for reading, bulbs were out and the down stairs shower (at the shower end did not work. -

Everyone at PVR was very nice. We loved the home although there were some problems with the master bathroom shower that apparently the owner and PVR were aware of but never told us about. When we called to report the problem, we were told "We and the owner know," but no one had ever told us. Also the alarm was left on so when we went to the house we had to call PVR and try to talk over a blaring house alarm and then explain who we were to the police when they showed up an half hour later. Aside from these two things, we really loved the house. It is spacious, it is in a great location, removed, on Moultonborough Neck, yet close to Center Harbor and Meredith. The thing we liked best were the water access (sloping beach with fire pit & dock with canoe), and the thing we liked least was the master bathroom.

We missed giving the guest a note on the shower. Sorry about the alarm, it was a mistake that it was left on for your arrival. We are lad you had a great experience. Mark Borrin, GM, Preferred Vacation Rentals, Inc.

Great spot, private, quiet, end of dead end street with path access to nice level walk on adjacent development circle drive. Sandy beach with easy access for elderly. Adequate dock for boats. Only negative was the outrageous amount of damage deposit required...much higher than any property we've ever visited.
