If you are looking for a place to just kick back and relax look no further. This place is it. Everything you need is right there. Walking trails, restaurants, shops, etc. Lake is right down the road. You won't be disappointed if you stay here, just be sure to bring your camera. House is very well kept with plenty of comfortable beds for a good nites sleep.

Holly Springs, North CarolinaA Nature Experience with all the Modern Conveniences
Left on 04/15/2013 for a stay in April 2013
Absolutely Perfect! From the drive into the development to the house itself we had a wonderful time. The drive into the neighborhood was beautiful. We felt like we were in a tree house surrounded by nature but with all the modern conveniences. The house was better than advertised. The pictures really do not do it justice. It was very clean. The beds slept comfortably. And we had room to spread out as well as comfortable furniture when we all gathered together. The house is equipped with a lot of kid's toys so my 5 year old had lots of fun playing and there were tons of board games to play as well. We were very close to Hershey Park and Chocolate World as well as Lancaster County for amish Country. My Mom was able to check off her bucket list a covered bridge tour. Our only small complaint is that there was only one tv and it would have been nice to have a small tv in the den off the kitchen. The result was a lot of time talking at night and playing cards. Isn't that what a real family vacation is about? Would definitely recommend this place to friends.

The cabin is great and Pat is super easy to work with! Very well appointed, lots of room and real close to the lake...it was a cool, damp weekend but felt very warm and cozy inside! The nice views from each room does make you feel like you're in the tree tops. My favorite would have to be the addition...either the great room, on the couch by the fireplace or up in the loft.
We stayed here for our ladies weekend (8 of us) and there was plenty of room. Definitely going to book this again for an annual getaway. Super affordable too!
Mt. Gretna is very charming...first time visitor and I will be back.
Thanks again Pat...and I hope to upload some photos at a later time.Response from Pat Wilmsen - 03/01/2013

We stayed in Mount Gretna on a cold weekend in February and had a wonderfully relaxing weekend. The house is large and beautifully decorated. The large great room has a very comfortable sofa with a nice gas fireplace. The master bedroom in the loft was great. Pat was wonderful to deal with. We hope to visit again soon.

First off may I say that dealing with this owner was a joy, and that is saying a lot as I have found that when dealing with flipkey owners you hear from about 1 in 10 and that one usually takes a long time to get back to you. This owner was prompt and friendly, a real breath of fresh air.
When we got to the home it is in a beautiful area and is just breathtaking! My husband and I were traveling with our 3 adult children (20-22 years) our 14 year old daughter and our 9 month old grandson. We were ecstatic to find that the original part of the home is completely baby friendly, including a high chair in the dining area! The addition is large and open and fit a play yard easily. We were so happy to be able to stretch out and never felt the least bit cramped in the home.
We enjoyed wonderful walks through this lovely community, board games at night, made a visit to the nearby Hershey Chocolate Factory for a fun free tour that was enjoyed by young and old alike. We also visited the outlet stores (about 45 minutes away) for an exhausting afternoon :-)
We travel as a family in the summer and during Christmas/New Year and we cannot wait to visit again to enjoy the summer activities including but not limited to a lovely open air theater within walking distance and the many activities available at the pond across the street.
I have attached photos of the home but please know they were taken on my phone and do not do the home justice! It is truly beautiful.
I would recommend this home for a family get away (just add ice cream and a dvd) or a romantic get away (just add a bottle of good red wine) the rest is included, turn the key and enjoy!

Our stay at Lakeview Cottage was the perfect winter getaway! Lots of indoor space for the whole family. And the views make you feel like you live in a tree house! When we wanted to get out for some fresh air the place is convenient to all Mt. Gretna has to offer, like walking to the rail trail just a few minutes away. I've been to Mt. Gretna several time in the summer as well, it's a great place for a quick weekend getaway if you live nearby or a long week with lots of activity going on in town, at the lake and several walking trails. Unlike other houses I've stayed in, this one has a nice open kitchen, two living rooms to spread out, a covered/screened porch in addition to two decks, and large windows so you don't feel cramped even when the weather isn't good for sitting outside.
