Enviable location
Allamanda Villa has one of the best views on the island, and is located centrally, making it an easy drive to 3 of Bequia's most beautiful beaches - Lower Bay, Princess Margaret, and Friendship Bay. From this 3 bedroom villa, you can see for miles and get lost in the beautiful sea views and lush scenery that Bequia has to offer.

West YorkshireThere cannot be a better view on the island!
Left on 05/20/2013 for a stay in April 2013
We booked this villa as part of a package from the UK, as it was for a special wedding anniversary. We were looking for privacy, space, a great view, a pool and a covered lounging area, plus somewhere to park the rental car (a must for this villa). The villa delivered all of this and more, the sense of space is amazing and it would be quite roomy even if 6 or more were staying.
The property is almost at the summit of the island, hence the car or jeep to get maximum benefit. The views over Port Elizabeth and the sea beyond are uninterrupted and priceless , particularly when the light changes during the day. Keeping up with the constant changes of yachts, boats and ferries in the harbour makes the time fly by!
The bedrooms are large and airy, with very efficient air conditioning. The living space is huge, I tried to measure across the lounge/dining area/kitchen which is hexagonal in shape. It was at least 25 feet from one side to the other. The property is very nicely and fully furnished, in a relaxed and informal style.
The villa is set in around three quarters of an acre of ground, much of this to the rear of the property so as not to spoil the view. The openness of the villa is enhanced by these lawns and well tended gardens. The villa is within the Mt Pleasant district, with neighbouring properties (rather than an isolated location), and a small shop/bar about 7 minutes down the hill.
Special mention must be made of Bert and Kay who made us so welcome, along with Maureen and Ian who looked after the villa and the garden. Bert seems to know everyone on Bequia which was a great ice-breaker, but the island people are just so friendly, it is easy to chat anyway. He provided us with some great tips for the local restaurants.
On some websites the photos do not do the location justice - remember that you cannot take a photo of the side of the property facing the sea, because of its elevated position.
We had a great time! We were collected by taxi from the airport - highly recommended as there is no scheduled public transport at the airport. -

Wilmington, Delaware USAHigh On Bequia's Mt Pleasant
Left on 05/19/2013 for a stay in April 2013
Our week's stay at Villa alamanda was perfect, meeting and going above all our expectations. The incredible villa is perched at the top of Mt. Pleasant, with absolutely spectacular views, overlooking admiralty Bay. Just sitting on the comfortable balcony alone was entertainment watching the sailboats in the harbor, some moored, some coming, some going, as well as the ferries and larger ships bringing in supplies. With romantic colorful sunsets, and later star-filled skies and twinkling harbor lights, along with beautiful swimming pool and the bubbling Jacuzzi more than met our expectations. The front of the gated property was extremely inviting with nicely landscaped and well-maintained, eye-pleasing villa. The breezes on Mt. Pleasant were wonderful. We really didn't need to use the air-conditioning with the cross-ventilation when leaving windows open on all sides while we were at the villa. The natural lighting of the great room, which included the comfortable living room entertainment area with games, books, flat screen TV and more, spilled into the dining room area as well as the well-stocked modern kitchen. From start to finish, we thank Bert and Kay King for their hospitality and letting us stay in their beautiful Villa. They are a wonderful, friendly, couple we had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with. We hope to return some day to Bequia and definitely will stay at their Villa.

IllinoisThe Best Bequia has to Offer!
Left on 02/15/2012 for a stay in January 2012
We have been to Bequia six times now, I think, it could be seven, and have stayed at the allamanda every time. Without doing disservice to other villas we haven't stayed at, this is the best place on the island to stay. The owners treat us like family and in turn we consider them family. The allamanda is furnished with all of the comforts of home. The views and amenities are exceptional. The neighbors and neighborhood are the best. The privacy, security and peace & quiet, are second to none. There is really no need to leave the property, but you must to enjoy everything Bequia has to offer. The view from the verandah has been the screen saver on my computer since the first visit. The drive to anywhere you want to go is short, but we prefer to hike it as much as possible. I'm not sure what I like the best, sitting out back, at night looking at the boats in the harbor, or in the morning, after a hike, seeing what new boats came in while we slept. We will be back and we highly recommend the allamanda to everyone who might visit in the future.

CalgaryWe highly recommend Villa allamanda!
Left on 04/12/2011 for a stay in February 2011
We Love allamanda Villa! This was not our first stay at allamanda and will not be our last. We would highly recommend this luxury vacation villa to anyone. The owners of allamanda are wonderful people who do everything possible to make sure your vacation is perfect. The amazing views, the peacefulness and the privacy make this villa the perfect location and although it is not beachfront, the short 5 minute drive to any of the beaches just doesn't seem to matter. It is hard to venture out and leave the great pool area and the beautiful villa anyhow! Allamanda is an extremely well kept, up-to-date villa that has open-air living with wonderful Caribbean breezes blowing through the home and verandah, making the need for air conditioning non-existent. We can not say enough good about our stays at allamanda and the island of Bequia.
