Oakland, CAGreat place for families
Left on 02/26/2013 for a stay in February 2013
My family of four - a mom, a dad, a 2.5 yr old boy, and a grandpa - stayed at anne and Mike's for the weekend. We had a wonderful time. I love the location of their home, which was the primary reason we picked it. It is just a few blocks from many great restaurants, a couple of our favorite shops and book stores, the train station (great entertainment for a little boy), and one of the best Bay area farmer's markets on Sunday. Beyond that, their home was very welcoming. They'd left out some spare toiletries, a welcome basket (I loved the lemon cookies!), and some guide books for us in case we needed some ideas. The kitchen was fully stocked and the hot tub was a treat. But, probably the best of all was the play structure in the backyard and access to the toys in the playroom. We could have been entertained all weekend without leaving! Thank you, Mike and anne!

Well where do I start to describe such an excellent host and location? I'm happy to say that our first stay using air BnB was very positive and even more importantly that anne and Mike's lovely home was exceptional and delivered much more than one would expect ( and we have stayed in many such non air BnB rentals in the us and Europe) On our arrival for a 12 night stay( which was late in the evening due to various delays) Mike was there to greet us, and to give us a tour of the house, it's facilities and the locality. A super host who was always at the end of the phone or email to answer any query we had, we couldn't recommend this air BnB location highly enough. The house itself was spotless, everything in full working order and within a stone's throw of the centre of Mountain View. (walking distance) Some of the many highlights were:- *A welcome basket with local produce and organic goods - including milk, coffee and OJ- Also in the bathroom were a supply of all types of toiletries if by chance we had forgotten anything. *Full stocked kitchen and laundry- a blessing when you can get the laundry out of the way before traveling home. We didn't need to buy (Although we did initially expecting we would need them) anything like washing powder etc but moreover the kitchen had everything from a coffee grinder to a baking set, if the need arose! *Mike made having the kids with us so much easier by putting in a cot and highchair there plus letting us borrow books on kids activities and travel guides. *The back yard was a real plus in my book- a wonderful play structure for kids of all ages, plus a great outside deck and BBQ. Oh and we got to use the spotless hot tub and pick some oranges and lemons from the trees in the garden.*Location - you can't beat it if you want to be near Mountain View and the nearby areas such as Palo alto, and even San Francisco( I can't recommend Mike and anne and their house highly enough, I would go on but have gone over the word limit!.

We had five nights at Mike and anne's house while my husband was traveling for work and I could not recommend any higher. It was a lovely house, very well presented and we instantly felt at home. Mike left very detailed instructions and we didn't have any problems during our stay, plus Mike was on hand at all times. We will definitely look to stay again for our next visit.

Tel AvivGreat Stay!

When looking for a place to stay I was very happy to come across anne & Mike's home. As location is key, their home was in a great location, very safe and very convenient close to everything! supermarkets, bars, restaurants - really everything. The house itself was perfect, clean & neat, fully stocked kitchen, amazingly spacious, large backyard with BBQ, Hot Tub, basketball hoop, and more- just made me feel at home, I almost didn't want to leave.
It is important for me to point out, that not only was the house exactly what we were promised (and more) but anne & Mike were amazing about the details! Every detail was covered, from the initial meet-up, house tour, all the way to the amazing welcome baskets that were waiting for us in the kitchen and in the washroom. They stocked the baskets with local products to really make us feel at home. I will surely stay here again in the future and I would recommend it to anyone. Perfect for a couple and a family alike. Thank you anne & Mike! -

We have stayed with anne and Mike a number of times on trips from the East Coast for my work in San Francisco. They have a beautiful home that is close to a nice downtown with great restaurants and entertainment. I'm able to walk to a Baby Bullet Caltrain and be up in San Francisco in 45 minutes while my husband enjoys the beautiful Mountain View weather with the kids (and I can work on the train). My kids love the quality play structure they have in their yard. They are close to city parks and a bike trail that leads to a baylands park with lots of wildlife. It's also a short ride to the Children's Discovery Museum in San Jose. We love staying in this Old Mountain View neighborhood much better than at a sterile hotel. I really love the kitchen, it's huge!
