Description

Our romantic chalet in a beautiful park-like setting is located in a small mountain town Murphy nestled in the Western North Carolina Mountains. The beautifully furnished and elegantly decorated cabin features hardwood flooring throughout the cabin, high-vaulted pinewood ceiling, a spacious master bedroom with a queen bed and a private bath. The guest room has a queen-size bed and a full bath off the hall. Large windows offer beautiful views of the peaceful setting, gazebo and the pond.

There are many lakes around the area with picnic spots and walking trails. The beautiful Cherokee Lake is only minutes away by car. You can rent a boat, take a walk in the forest, or just relax on the porch and listen to the running stream on the bench by the pond or in the private gazebo. Come to enjoy the sounds and views of nature and relax in our beautiful mountain retreat. A wonderful place for a romantic getaway or a perfect family vacation!

They need to update pictures. The internet was terrible. Need to add a few more peices of furniture to seat in. Could be nice with a few updates. Need to look into getting a new cleaning person.

Response from the owner I am not sure why this traveler decided that the cabin was "very dirty". We use the same housekeeper for the last 10 years and so far all our guests have been very happy. He did call to complain and we offered the service of our housekeeper; the lady was also curious to see what was so wrong and was ready to fix it. However, the guest declined telling it was not a big deal. So was it "very dirty" or not a big deal? He promptly emailed next day asking for a refund. The guest did ask for discounts before he rented and I explained that the winter rate was already a discounted rate. I guess that this was his way to finally get a discount, one way or the other. As to the pictures, they do reflect exactly what the cabin has inside. We haven't changed the inside decor or furniture whatsoever because our guests like it so much. What we added are the extra sitting chair and the sun shades in the living room. The outside will definitely look very different in the winter (the guest stayed in February) than it looked in the summer when the picture were taken. As to the extra furniture to sit on, the cabin has 6 chairs in the kitchen, the sofa and the sitting chair in the living room and 6 chairs outside. The guests had plenty of chairs to sit on, unless there were more than 4 people in their party. Also, if there was a problem with the internet, he should have alerted me. I'd have been more than happy to call the customer service or it probably just needed a modem reset.

We had a romantic time. The cabin was very nice and homey. We just wanted to spend time together and the cabin is everything it says it is. We fell in love with the area we will be back.
