Once again we rented out Hardwood trail retreat and we absolutely loved it all over again. The scenery is breathtaking, the cabin is beautiful and amanda is awesome to deal with as always! We took advantage of the proximity to the Chunky Gal Stables and it was a great day We made new friends and great memories. The only down side is since we returned home my sons are driving me nuts about getting them horseback riding lessons (which they start Saturday,LOL)... We will certainly be back at Hardwood trail for our next vacation unless of course we buy our own cabin (which we are seriously considering). Rest assured, If we do buy our own place we have every intention of asking amanda to handle the rentals on it.

Cabin new, nicely furnished, had all amenities needed except Wifi. Would encourage owner's to consider. Otherwise, a lovely vacation enjoyed with spouse and our dogs. Convenient to get to from highway.

We found the cabin very comfortable, and pleasant..Everything we needed was there for our use..Very nice cabin, although our best one we stayed at was the Merry Moose Lodge...We won a seven day stay...

Glad to hear you had a nice time at Hardwood Trail Retreat. Merry Moose Lodge was a great cabin, but the owner decided to enjoy it herself.. Thanks for uploading the photos, though I must let potential renters know these photos are NOT part of Hardwood Trail Retreat. There is a lake about a mile from the cabin called Cherokee Lake where you can enjoy fishing, swiming, or have a picnic!

The cabin was all that was described. Our family of five had a great time. We enjoyed the quiet and yet it was still close to town. Everything was clean and up-to-date. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a time to relax. If we were looking to be more active, I probably would not recommend it. The location is not close to any of the attractions they recommended. We just needed the time to relax, it was great for that.

I came across the town of Murphy, NC via a Craig's list posting for a home for rent. Then I found Mountain Country Cabin Rentals. I was impressed by the different homes available for summer rental and their price. The cabin we rented was perfect for the two of us, although we could easily had another couple stay as well. The living space was comfy, the kitchen well stocked with just about every utensil, pot or pan you might need, and the master bedroom and bath were great. The deck was perfect for sitting out in the evening. I must admit the air conditioning was perfect for the hot and steamy days. Checking in and out was easy, and the staff was helpful in making the reservation. We would consider coming back again.
