AtlantaHome away from Home
Left on 03/28/2013 for a stay in March 2013
This is now our third trip to Running Bear. On a whim last week my husband and I decided we needed a short respite from the hustle and bustle of city life. It was a unanimous decision, let's return to what has quickly become our home away from home. The cabin interior is lovely, spacious, and equipped with all basic amenities (including grill). We like to drive to local farms in the area, buy or pick fresh produce, and cook up a storm. We love waking up in the mornings and sitting outside on the porch with our french press coffee. It's so quiet there. Time slows down and we always wake up well-rested from a longer than usual nights sleep. This time we drove ~3 miles down the road to visit Decker's Flea market and had a blast! And most of all, we absolutely love Greg and Paula!!! They feel like family and always make us feel at home. We have a trip planned for the Spring, can't wait to return!

Lakeland, FLStaying Cozy in Running Bear Cabin
Left on 12/21/2012 for a stay in November 2012
This is our first stay in the BearyCozy cabins. We have vacationed all over the Smokey Mountains. We have rented other cabins and have had to leave without staying because the cabins, when viewed with our eyes, were not what was depicted on the various web sites. To our suprise and pleasure, Running Bear Cabin was exactly what was portrayed on the web site. We couldn't have been more pleased with what we found at Running Bear Cabin. The cool temperatures, 41 degrees at 2:30 pm on our arrival day, set the stage for a wonderful week. The cabin was comfortable and roomy. The beds were comfortable and spacious. My wife enjoyed the whirlpool tub except for the sand which came out of the spigot. We enjoyed the fireplace and the rocking chairs on the porch. The setting was quiet except for a few dogs heard barking. The town of Murphy was quaint with a nice downtown area. There were shopping markets close enough and the rides we took were quite senic. Sorry we were not able to meet Greg & Paula, but Greg did call to make sure we made it to the cabin and found it alright. The couch and loveseat were not the most comfortable, but we made them work.

Wonderful Cabin, so cozy and relaxing! Mountains are so gorgeous, and the quiet so soothing! We spent a week on our babymoon and loved every moment of it. A huge plus is that it is fully equipped and you get a feel like your in a home away from home.
We look forward to visiting once again!

Left on 08/06/2012 for a stay in July 2012
The cabin was extremely well appointed. We brought many things from home that we didn't even need; everything we needed was there. Greg and Paula were wonderful to work with. They were totally available for any questions and made our "check-in" and "check-out" experience a breeze. The house itself is a little small, but there were only two of us, so it was perfect. Everything was clean and well-cared-for. The tv, internet service, and phone line were extras and very much appreciated. Would still like to have a tv in the master BR though! All in all, highly recommend.

We had a wonderful experience staying at Running Bear Cabin. The cabin was beautiful and well equipped. It was super clean and the several little extras made it "just what we needed"! It was close to the town of Murphy, but out in the woods so you felt like you were in your own little world. We were very impressed and the price was right!

Running Bear is a peaceful spot, we loved being here! Arrived at night to the sound of frogs and crickets, and awoke feeling like we were in the treetops. We enjoyed having coffee on the porch, the whirlpool bath, the comfortable great room, and the great interaction with the property manager. Everything - furniture, appliances, etc - seems brand new, spotless, and top of the line!

Left on 06/04/2012 for a stay in May 2012
Running Bear Cabin was amazingly comfortable with everything we could have possibly needed. The porch was awesome with gates that closed it off so the dog could sit outside with us for morning coffee or afternoon tea and games. The beds were also comfortable, unlike most stay away from home places. It was clean and we had everything we could have needed outside the food we brought in. Greg and Paula were more than hospitable! We will definitely be back and I would recommend this cabin to anyone needing a getaway!

Left on 04/23/2012 for a stay in April 2012
We cannot say enough about the wonderful stay we had at Running Bear Cabin. After a few stressful weeks and a long drive from NJ, all of our troubles vanished as we stepped inside the cabin for the first time. I honestly could have curled up on the sofa with a good book and spent the whole week there. There was plenty of space for my husband, our teenage daughter and myself and we even brought along our Boston Terrier Otis. Every tiny detail about the cabin was perfect and felt like home immediately. The wrap around porch was awesome and we spent quite a bit of time sitting in the rocking chairs while our dog enjoyed being out in the fresh air. I cannot wait to be able to return to Running Bear! We really appreciated the wonderful service from Greg and Paula too! Lovely people that went above and beyond to ensure our stay was delightful. Tha is again!

Left on 12/31/2011 for a stay in December 2011
My husbands only request for our vacation this year was he wanted to relax. Well, he got what he wanted. This cabin is so peaceful, even with the rooster that lives next door. We didnt have to bring anything but food and it was clean and comfortable. Greg and Paula were very sweet and actually called us to make sure we had everything we needed. That attention to detail, with out us feeling we were being watched, was very comforting. The neighbors are very welcoming and friendly, and dont mind giving you some ideas of what to do in the area. The town is tiny, but very nice to walk and the shopkeepers are wonderful. We were there in December so our outdoor choices were limited, but we could easily see how much fun Murphy would be in the spring and summer. We will certainly return to this area!

Left on 12/11/2011 for a stay in November 2011
We stayed at Running Bear in November. We were delighted! Loved the fireplace, loved the decor, loved the woods. We grilled steaks,(the addition of a gas grill on the porch would be nice) hiked up the road about a mile for a spectacular view and snuggled by the fire. Hope to visit again soon. By the way Greg and Paula are lovely people. You will not be disappointed.

Left on 08/21/2011 for a stay in August 2011
Our experience was above what we expected,
We have never stayed anywhere that can compare to our stay at "Running Bear". The cabin was very clean and had every single item a guest could ever need including a bread maker. We were quite astonished to find the same dishes that we have ourselves. No detail has been overlooked !!
Greg was there to greet us with a smile and a handshake. Greg made us feel welcome from the very first moment. Most people treat you like a number, but not here .
I cannot find a single thing that needs improvement ...Bring your groceries and leave all of your other cares behind, it just doesn't get any better ... Perfection should sum it up very well !!Response from BearyCozy.com - 08/22/2011
