Historic Murphys is a Sierra Foothills retreat. The town has a rich goldrush history, but now is home to a reputable wine tasting region. You are within walking distance to several tasting rooms, shopping and a great selection of restaurants. A short drive away, you are in the thick of the Stanislaus National Forest and Bear Valley Ski Resort, which offers great recreation year round.

We have stayed at the Little Yellow cottage twice in the last three years and it is the perfect place to stay while visiting Myrphys. Renting is easy and the owners do an amazing job of keeping their rentals in excellent condition. This cottage was remodled within the last year, the kitchen is great and the beds and bedding are wonderful. The house is cozy, inviting and bright. Two very good sized bedrooms, a bright kitchen and a lovely family/living room with plenty of places to sit both outside and inside--it is very peaceful, quiet and relaxing. It's an easy 1 block walk to all the shops, wine tastings and restaurants. Great for pets, good for kids and good for seniors--everthing is on one floor and it's just a couple of steps into the house. We'll stay again and again! Wireless internet is fast; an hdtv would be a nice addition, but otherwise everything is perfect for a visit to the area.

I couldn't believe how lucky we felt when we arrived at the Little Yellow Cottage and there it was so quiet and peaceful waiting for us. We felt right at home and very secure just being us two sisters alone for two nights. The cottage was exceptionally clean and comfortable with very comfortable beds which were separate from each other enough for some privacy. And, if you wanted to cook all things were available, including an outdoor barbeque.
I enjoyed sitting out on the front porch in the morning with a cup of coffee and watching and hearing the birds in such an incredibly peaceful atmosphere. We loved that the famous Murphys hotel was right up the street where we could walk for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Oh, and what wonderful food we found there. We got to sit out on their beautiful patio for dinner and it was just as peaceful an experience.
We walked the streets of Murphys one day and enjoyed all of the quaint shops and vibe that the town offers. Me being a dog lover enjoyed the dog friendly town.
Making reservations was a snap with Fara as she responded promptly with requests and questions and left you feeling that you didn't have to worry about a thing.
I highly recommend Murphys Vacation Rentals!

This warm and inviting cottage has everything you could ever want or need. From the moment you open the front door, you know you just stumbled on to something special. The furnishings are quaint, but comfortable. There is a feeling of, "Let's just hang out here," rather than exploring the charming town on Murphys. I would've been perfectly happy just hanging out in my little cottage away from home. It's located near the community park, complete with a stream, bridges, and a gazebo.
The kitchen is well appointed with fine dishes and stemware. The baths are spacious and clean. The bedrooms (located on opposite ends of the cottage) are decorated and encourage sleeping in !!! We also enjoyed the backyard, with a raised wooden patio area.
I want to return and soon !!!
Try skipping the chic wine bars for "The Nugget" one night. It's the local watering hole, complete with dogs trotting around and very friendly folks !!!
