Charming, comfortable designer cottage home is 3 blocks to beautiful sandy beach at Lake Michigan in Pere Marquette award-winning beach park. See sunsets west into Lake Michigan at night and sunrises 1 block east over Muskegon Lake. Redbird Cottage is popular with families up to six, for multi-generational vacations, and for Girl Getaways. The cottage is not on water or beach, no view of water or beach from the property.

The main renter must be age 25 years or older, the guests must be "family" (even if a family of one), and no unrelated groups or students are accepted, regardless of their age. No Smoking and No Pets are firm. Miss Jane... is the local partner and manager, available in the background to give you a quick reply if you need information or help.

Located in a friendly, quaint neighborhood, Redbird has quick access to many beaches, festivals, arts and entertainment, symphony and live theater in season.

Within 2-15 minutes you can sunbathe, swim, bike the Shoreline Trail, fish off the pier or go charter boat fishing, rent a kayak and bicycle, tour three World War II ships, including a famous submarine.

Town is close, as is grocery shopping, gas, many chain and independent restaurants, major medical services, and quick access to major highways.

Visiting Muskegon is like spending the summer with your grandparents - no tourist traps, and light traffic. No wall-to-wall people here, except when you want it at festivals.

The cheerful open kitchen/dining/living great room makes relaxing or being with family fun. Upstairs, the front bedroom has a King bed, the second bedroom has two twin beds, and the full bath with 5-foot tub provide a get-a-way from other activities. Queen sleeper sofa in living area boosts sleeping to 6 maximum.

Outside, enjoy your favorite drink on the open front porch. Create memories by making s'mores over the fire pit, and cook your favorite meat on BBQ grill, then enjoy the family at the picnic table in back. On a peninsula in historic Bluffton area between Lake Michigan and Muskegon Lake. Its 0.3 mile (0.5 km) to Lake Michigan and Pere Marquette certified clean beach sugar sand and 1 block to Muskegon Lake shoreline. The best of both worlds - 2 minutes to beaches, 5 minutes to Cross Lake Express Ferry to Milwaukee, and 15 minutes to downtown, art, music festivals, major chain and grocery stores, highways, and hospitals. 30 minutes to Michigan's Adventure and Waterpark and Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp. Free parking in the double-wide, private driveway shared with small guest cottage in back up on a dune.

  These cottages are wonderful: Clean, comfortable, and completely updated. We actually stayed at Eagles' Nest, the cottage on the dune just behind (and above) Redbird, though through a stroke of good fortune, we had access to Redbird for a couple days.
  The cottages are situated in what was once "The actor's Colony," the summer home to Vaudeville acts of the 20s. Most notable among them was Buster Keaton; Keaton's sister once owned Redbird! Situated on Wilcox ave., one may watch the sun come up over Muskegon Harbor at the end of the street, and watch it go down on Pere Marquette Beach - almost on the other! Behind our cottage was the remnants of "Pigeon Hill," and each morning we saw white-tailed deer just waking from their beds.
  Each cottage has modern, updated furnishings... decorated as cozy beach bungalows. They are squeaky clean, with every comfort imaginable. The owner has thought of everything; all we needed were the groceries!
