      Great condo!

Left on 03/27/2013 for a stay in March 2013

We were very happy with our condo. The furnishings were very comfortable. We found everything we needed to make our two week stay great. The location was wonderful, right on the ocean. The various balconies made it easy to sit outside and relax. We unfortunately were in Myrtle Beach during a very cold spring. We would love to come back again and stay at the same location.

Our stay in our unit at Brighton Tower was amazing! Everything went so smoothly from picking up our keys at the vacation rental office to checking in at the plantation! The condo was beautiful and very clean! The kitchen was stocked with everything needed for cooking-in. Plenty of everything! The views from all balconies were wonderful. We will definately stay here again! Thank you for a wonderful vacation experience.

      Exquisitely Furnished

Left on 11/10/2011 for a stay in November 2011

The condo was large, well-stocked, and furnished like a lavish home. We had great weather and attended a conference held on site at the Brighton, which was so nice to be able to run back to the room when needed. Kitchen had everything needed, although we didn't do any cooking. Only criticism was small amount of towels left for our 4-day, 3-night stay. Will certainly stay in this unit again.

      What a Fantastic Condo

Left on 07/17/2011 for a stay in July 2011

Just came back from spending a week in Brighton Towers at Kingston Plantation. It was a very spacious condo with 3 large bedrooms all with their own bathrooms with double sinks . Was clean and ready to go when we arrived. The only downfall is there is a water park almost in front of the balcony however Brighton Tower guest are not welcome there. If you have kids its very disappointing. The pool is very small for that size complex but it was clean. There is no security guard that I saw in the building so just about anyone can walk right in. There is no place in the complex to eat or buy a drink or coffee. They do have a pop machine in lobby and a snack machine. There is no security at the pool so anyone can go in there however the other complexes within the Kingston Plantation have guards and they won't let you in their pools. The drapes let a lot of light in during the morning hours so its early to rise. The TV in living room is awful as you can't see the picture during the daylight hours. It is a large TV but has a poor picture on it. I would recommend this condo if you have a large family or several families as there is ample privacy The views are amazing and you can see the dolphin swimming around in the ocean during the early morning hours when the ocean is calm. I can't wait to return it is a very nice place.

      Absolutely Beautiful Condo!

Left on 04/24/2011 for a stay in April 2011

I just returned from a week long stay in 609 in Brighton Tower at Kingston Plantation. After getting our key from the Realty Company and a parking pass from the security guard at the gate, we rode through the absolutely beautiful community of Kingston Plantation to reach the highrise, which by the way is 21 stories tall. The condo was stunning, with granite countertops, marble floors in the bathrooms, and bold but tasteful wall colors, but because it hadn't been rented for weeks before we occupied it, things were rather dusty. Other than that, it was very clean and well organized. The condo is furnished with Tommy Bahama furniture by Lexington and it is lovely. The kitchen had every appliance, dish, and utensil you could ever need, and there was a separate counter-height ice-maker that was handy but noisy. The layout of the condo is great, with the bedrooms nicely separated and all with access to a balcony and a bathroom. Speaking of the bathrooms, they are all huge and have two sinks, and two of them have a separate tub and shower. There is ample storage space in the condo, from the laundry room to the large closets in the bedrooms and pantry in the kitchen. There is a dining room with seating for six, and two chairs at the bar for extra people. The living room is a bit small for a condo of this size, but there are two full sized red leather reclining couches crammed in it, so there is ample seating. One thing we did not like at all was the television in the living room. It is an older style projection TV, and when the room was bright during the day, the picture was very dim, and if one of us was sitting off to the side, the picture almost disappeared completely. The owners really need to invest in a LCD or led television for that room. Also, there are no king-sized beds in this condo, even though there is room for them. My partner and I are both over six feet tall and are not comfortable sleeping night after night in a queen sized bed, but would've understood the need for one if the size of the master bedroom was too small for a king, but it isn't. One joint complaint all three couples voiced was the lack of "black out" drapes on the sliding glass doors and bedroom windows; the drapes are white and rather thin, so an abundance of light shows through them as soon as the sun comes up. The televisions in all three bedrooms were very nice, large ones with built in DVD players.

The condo had three balconies, which made it feel even larger than it was, and it was a huge condo. The largest balcony was ocean front and could be accessed from the living room and two of the bedrooms. The other two balconies were smaller and were on the back of the condo, one off the dining room, and another off the third bedroom. These two overlooked Kingston Plantation and the view was beautiful. There was ample furniture for seating on the main balcony whether you wanted to sit in a chair or relax on a chaise lounger. Brighton is shaped like a capital T, and 609 is basically the whole right side of the top line on the "T", and I enjoyed the view that afforded us; although the main section of the building blocked the view on the right side of the balcony, our straight-on view of the beach was beautiful.

We were not at all pleased with the wireless internet connection at Brighton. Last year we stayed in the Royale Palms four buildings down, and the connection there was fast and consistent, but in Brighton, it took repeated tries to connect to the internet, and it would come and go at random, and most of the time when it was working, it was very slow.

Brighton's pool is very small and doesn't open in the mornings until 10:00am, which is ridiculous, especially since we could stand on our balcony and watch people gather around the Embassy Suites' pool as early as 7:30 every morning. I counted twenty loungers and 8 table chairs in Brighton's pool encosure, even though there was room for twice that number, and the pool is no larger than 20x40 (We have an 18x36 in our back yard). The first morning we went down after breakfast and had to wait for about 5 mintues outside the gate while a gentlemen finished his cleaning duties, and by the time we had been inside for 15 minutes, all the chairs had been spoken for. Someone needs to tear out some of the landcaping and grass behind the pool enclosure and extend it toward the front of the building, into an area that's not being utilized at all. The next morning we decided to walk over to Margate's pool next door since it's larger, but were refused entry by a security guard because we were not staying in Margate tower. We were under the impression that in the whole Plantation only the Splash Park pool complex was off limits to guests that did not rent through KP, but obviously this is not true. I would definitely not recommend staying in a Brighton Condo in the warmest months of the year unless you want to spend a lot of time walking around the sidewalks of KP searching for chair space and accessibility.

There is a parking deck located beside the building with covered access that is very close and convenient, and the building has three elevators that do a pretty good job of handing a lot of guests. Just outside 609 and through another hall door is a trash shute; that was really convenient for a party of three couples. Things like diswashing liquid/detergent, laundry degergent, and kitchen trash bags were all present in the the condo, and the company we rented through provided linens and a great supply of nice, soft towels and washcloths, and the washer and dryer were both huge.

Our little group loved staying in this condo and will probably book another trip there in the future; I think Margate would also be a great choice for families or couples looking for modern stylish lodging in the Crescent Section of Myrtle Beach!

      Nice But dirty

Left on 05/10/2010 for a stay in May 2010

The home is well decorated and has nice views. However when we arrived we must have been the first for the season. We ended up spending about 1hr dusting everything off. There was a ton of dust on the furniture, TV, ceiling fans, and every where else. We dusted and then vacuumed. The carpet are a bit stained as well. They need a good cleaning. The rental company said it was Ocean Front View, but it really sits back a good bit. A better stay would be in Margate Towers the next building over. It offers real ocean front views. Also the rental guy was a bit snappy and rude. I sent an email asking some info, and all he sent back was "NAME and LISTING Please". If he had scrolled down the email, he would have seen the name, and also the listing was in the headers of the email. It was like we bothered him. Also regarding the cleaning. It was very dirt. The cleaning lady called us and instead of helping, she actually argued with us about it being cleaned.

Response from Grand Strand Vacations and Rentals - 05/10/2010

      Manager

It is our belief that the wording on the view is correct. The unit sit back because of the building shape but there is nothing in front of it to block a direct ocean view. The carpets were just cleaned because the unit was occupied all winter by a monthly guest. I offered to address any cleaning concerns and communicated so to the guest. After a substantial discount at booking and a request for more, I saw no way any solution could be created. We work very hard to create great stays at a reasonable rate to our clients and will work at correcting any issues during their stay
