Everything from the booking, check-in, the short drive across the street from the office to elevators, to the room, to final check-out was easy with no un-expected surprises. 304 was very clean and comfortable. It pasted my wife's inspection and she is a clean freak. Thank-You

You can't beat the great service you receive from Grand Strand Vacations & Rentals. Everyone one in the rental office (especially Jim Rand) is very knowledgeable and accommodating. The unit itself is comfortable and provides an exceptional view of the ocean; however, this unit is somewhat dated and could use some modernization such as adding flat screen TVs, a working radio and DVR player. Other than that you simply won't find a better location to stay in Myrtle Beach. I'll see you again next year!

The main reason why we stay at Pelican's Landing is to have an Oceanview and to party at Ocean annie's bar which is very close to us. The actual rooms are very dated and badly in need of an upgrade. The beds can be hit and miss when it comes to comfort and that goes for the couches also. Having to carry around an actual key was a bit of a pain also. Once the paper products were used up, we had to buy our own. No housekeeping services so we had to buy our own laundry soap to wash our towels. Inconvenient in a lot of ways.

Disappointed
Richmond, VADisappointing
Left on 04/27/2011 for a stay in April 2011
Although it was oceanfront as requested and the weather was beautiful, the condo was disappointing. A new dishwasher was installed (the day after maintenance came to try and fix it) which was great because the dishes in the cabinets were filthy when we got there. The new one cleaned like a charm. The furnishings were adequate (except the CD player did not work, toilet in front bedroom continued to run even after maintenance tried to fix it, we didn't have sheets the first night for the pull out bed, and there was hair left in the master bathroom medicine cabinet/shower when we first arrived); just not much has been updated. It did appear, however, as if the refrigerator was relatively new. There is a pair of washers/dryers at the condo which worked well.

I have no excuses as to why the dishes were dirty other than the previous guest put hand washed dishes away because the dishwasher failed and they did not notify us. Cleaning crews do not pull all dishes out to insure they are clean. My understanding was this was only a few glasses that looked dirty. Equipment does break and when that happens we move as quickly to repair or replace with owners approval.

Best accomodations in the six years we have stayed in the Landing or the Watch and the plan is to return next year.hopefully in a ocean front unit. The only complaint is that the owners above 304 have 2 very noisy dogs that barked at inappropriate times. Not much you can do about an owner.

Abingdon, VAPossibly the Dirtiest Condo on Shore Drive
Left on 08/03/2010 for a stay in July 2010
We have been staying on Shore Drive for years and this was the dirtiest condo we've ever stayed in. There were areas in the condo that looked like they haven't been thoroughly cleaned in years. The decor is very outdated, not enough seating in the living area, and what was there was not comfortable.
The location of this condo is great, and that's about the only positive thing we have to say about it.Response from Grand Strand Vacations and Rentals - 08/03/2010

Because this unit as most of the units get used everyday from June until August, detail cleaning is extremely hard to accomplish. We do a detailed cleaning after it slows down. It is up to each owner as in all privately owned units, to spend whatever they feel is appropriate and within their means. I am sorry you feel this was not up to your standards. Comment will be passed on to the owners concerning your disapproval.

This condo was not cleaned before we arrived. We purchased cleaning products and spent several hours cleaning it ourselves. Also on our 3rd day the bathroom water-pipe in the condo above us broke at 2:30AM and leaked down from the ceiling in our bathroom; soaking even the carpet at the bathroom entrance. We called the emergency number. They responded later around 0830. The maintenance man told us what had happened when he arrived. However the management made it up to us by moving us to another condo #402 which was a definite upgrade. It was very clean and well-furnished. Also we were given new linen which I went over and picked up at the office since the lady at the office was by herself. The location on the beach was wonderful, the pool was also nice and we did have an enjoyable stay in Myrtle Beach.

Southern Ohio/ Northern KentuckyLocation, location, location! We love this condo!
Left on 07/05/2009 for a stay in June 2009
We take an "all girls vacation" the first week in June every year and have stayed at Pelican's Landing every time for about 10 years. We especially like number 304 because it is right off the elevator so it is really handy. It has a great oceanfront view and we sit out on the balcony a lot. The pool is wonderful and is oceanfront also. It has a washer and dryer right off of the front vestibule that is so convenient. Other condos we have checked on only have one set per floor and you have to pay to use them. The thing we really love about Pelicans Landing is it is on Shore Dr. and is close to Ocean Annies, Sandals, The Strawmarket, River City Cafe, Flip Flops Bar (formerly "The Sand Bar")and a short drive or about a 25 minute walk to several beach souvenir shops, Krogers grocery store and "Biminis" a great small local seafood restaurant. Each unit has everything you need: 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, full kitchen with pots, pans, dishes and silverware, coffee pot, microwave, iron and ironing board, etc. The rental office for several units in Pelicans Landing is right across the street which is very convenient. We love this condo and can't imagine staying anywhere else in Myrtle Beach!
