Furniture was stained, faucet in one of the bathrooms was completely loose, some electrical outlets didn't work, burned out light bulbs, bed covers stained and dirty, pillow very stained. Probably the worst unit we have stayed at Pelican's Landing or Pelican's Watch. Grand Strand Vacations and Rentals was very good, fixed problems fast, check in/out process was fast and efficient. Would definitely rent from them again, just not this unit. Read more

During the summer months, units are booked back to back and maintenance window are very small to correct issues that come up. Because of occupancies, cleaning of a high nature, cannot occur. All these issues will be addressed as time permits. Removing spreads for cleaning will leave no covers on the beds and time is required to clean them correctly. We put every effort into pleasurable stays but sometimes we just cannot.
Don't be attracted by your eyes, come to see the facts.

checking in is worst. 10 hours drove to there, but need to wait for more than 5 hours to check in. building is wreck and old. However, bedrooms is not that bad and at least they have the pool, and near the beach. in contradictory, this location is peaceful. if you want to go to fun place to play, then you have to drive 15 minutes from this location to there. good thing is that, the location is near Buffet Restaurant, such as Original Benjamin Calabash Buffet and others. Our check in time is posted everywhere as 4pm. Cleaners need time to clean units after another has checked out and they have multiple units. The time between check in and check out is small and with more than one unit, they work as hard as they can. We want you in as soon as possible so you can start your vacation stay.
All was well

The only complaint was the small outdated tv in the living room.
Quick weekend trip for basketball

The check in process was very easily handled. Was somewhat uncomfortable with leaving the key in the box for after hours check in. Maybe for future reference need a night time security kiosk to hold keys for guest and added security on the premises. The accomodations were adequate, nothing extraordinary about the unit. Nice touch to include the dvd's in top drawer. I liked the location with access to beach, Family Kingdom and basketball venues. What I liked least were problems with toilet and shower, but they did come out quickly to handle.

All in all this was a great place to stay, plenty of room, quiet surroundings. A few of the small appliances did not work (that was the worst part of the stay) nothing that couldn't be overcome. Lots of room. Thank you to the owners, if we ever decide to vacation in Myrtle Beach again this is where we will stay.

I stayed from June 25 thru July 2nd. It is a very relaxing atmosphere. I like the terraces, the on-site pools, the grills, and the close poximaty to the beach.

We take two vacations each year and always stay in a condo. I have never had to hang up the towels and put sheets on the beds before. The master bedroom's bed is sunken on the right side and left me with back problems. The Tv's are old and the remote in the livingroom would not adjust volume. On the good side, the color scheme is nice, it is not too close to the elevator, and quiet. You do have to walk a ways to get to the beach.
Not what we expected

The condo itself was nice. When I resereved the room it was advertised as a beach front condo. The rental agency that rents this condo only has photos of beach front property online. It was across the street two buildings back. It would have been nice to know that before showing up. The rental agency advertized that there was a hot tub on the property. This was not true. I think my biggest problem is with the rental agency's false advertisement. My only issue with the condo itself is that the beds in the rooms were uncomfortable. The rental agent in the office didn't know anything about the property ammenities and didn't want to take time to help me. Read more

I cannot find anywhere in the property listing the information you discuss as being in error. No pictures for this unit show it as a beachfront nor any verbage. There is also no verbarbage concerning a property hot tub. I can find nothing that would be considered false advertising. Perhaps you were looking at several different properties during your search and got the properties mixed up. If that is the case, I can understand your disappointment.

The overall experience was disappointing regarding the unit.

Had we been in a hotel, we would have asked for a different room. The mattresses were poor; the toilet in the main bath overflowed everytime, so we stopped using it; there were lights that didn't work...either broken...no light bulbs or bulbs that were burned out; and there was no iron available. Was surprised to find that the unit hadn't been recently dusted...or cleaned to what we thought it should have been. Couldn't find coffee pot nor filter cartridge...found
them later in the dish washer...didn't know if they had been washed or not. Shouldn't the cleaning staff have checked that out? The location was great and the convenience of having the kitchen available was good, but probably won't be staying there in the future. This was disappointing since we had stayed here at Pelican's Landing 5 years ago.
worst room we ever had at Pelicans Landing

bedroom carpets were filthy, bottoms of your feet turned black after walking on them, kitchen poorly supplied, pots, pans etc, no light bulbs in several lights, one burned out, no beach chairs in the laundry room to use, one of the exhaust fans in master bathroom didn't work, bed spread was stained in numerous places, just a dirty, hard used rental unit. There is no debating that the carpets in a beach property that is full most of the summer are dirty. The problem is that the owner will suffer loss of income if he allows the unit to go off market while the carpets are cleaned and dried. Because there is only one unit he owns, the loss would be more than a couple days. Carpets in this enviroment do get dirty faster and with heavy traffic, need to be cleaned every other week. That becomes very costly in both revenue loss and expense. These carpets are cleaned at least 3 times a year. Some of our units have turned to tile to help correct this issue.
We at the office also are here to answer your request for items that are missing or need corrected. The time between rentals in the summer months is less than 4 hours. That hardly allows us enough time to clean, check and repair anything that is wrong. If it were only a few units, there would be no problem. We rely on the guests to report any needs to the office so that we can correct those items immediately. Not reporting these concerns, can lead to a disappointing stay. We answer all issues as fast as possible if reported.

We have stayed at Pelican's Landing many times over the last 20 years. The area is perfect for families. The large, fully-equipped kitchen allows for "home cooked" meals while away from home. This unit is across he street from beach, but there is very litle traffic since the street is a cul-de-sac.
This particular unit is adequate; however, it is getting a little worn and shabby. For example, there is a large bleach stain on the kitchen counter. There are much nicer units than this one. Read more

Thank you for reviewing your stay at Ocean Resorts. How super to hear that you have stayed at Pelican's Landing many times over the past 20 years. You are truly our greatest asset ... a repeat guest. I can't express how much your continued business means to us.
I am sorry you found the condo you rented a little "worn" and "shabby". Our new highly intensive condo inspection program will hopefully identify the more "dated" properties and enable us to go to the homeowner with suggestions for refurbishment.
Again, thank you for your business and we hope to see you again next time.
