This is our 2nd time staying in The Tug, and we will definitely come again. This unit is comfortable, well-equipped, and in a terrific location, yet off the beaten path. Perfect for small families. This is one of twelve units in the building; all of them have ocean front balconies, but the 6 center units (like The Tug) have larger balconies with the master bedroom on the ocean. Even with people in most of the other units while we were there, we felt like we had the place all to ourselves (beach, pool, etc.)
We woke up every morning to the sunrise out the master bedroom sliding glass door which leads out to the large covered balcony (there is also a door from the living room). The beach is larger this year thanks to the nourishment project, and as usual for this time of year, not very crowded! The building installed a new outdoor swimming pool this year (to replace the one lost to the storms a couple years ago) which was a bonus for our kids.
If you're looking for a comfortable, affordable rental in Nags Head with a spectacular ocean view, The Tug is the place for you! -

Exceptional location and very enjoyable stay! Beaches were not at all crowded and even the teenagers seemed to be with their parents. Best family beach experience in years.

The reservation specialists at Resort Realty were terrific to work with and made the transaction smooth and easy for us. The property is located just south of Whalebone Junction on the beach road, so you're off the beaten path as far as traffic, but still able to zip down to Hatteras or over to Manteo. The property is away from public beach access, so the beach isn't crowded with strangers. Unlike other properties who have lost their beach area to the sea, this one still has a rather large beach area with plenty of room to spread out.
The condo is one of 12 in a building (3 floors, 4 per floor) each with its own balcony and spectacular ocean views. Being on the top floor afforded us amazing views of the beach, the surf, and the sunrises each day! The condo is furnished with comfortable living room furniture and bedding, newer appliances, and all the essentials you need for a beach vacation (e.g. ice maker in the freezer, blender, etc.!). The master bedroom with private bathroom opens up onto the balcony. The second bedroom with 2 twin beds (perfect for the kids) has its own bathroom.
We loved our time here and didn't want to leave! Hopefully we can come back next year! The only thing I wish this building had was an elevator! -

We loved being right on the beach and spent most of our time there. There were great restaurants in the area that we enjoyed. It was a fun area to explore.

We found the Tug to be a great place to enjoy the ocean.
The owners really spared no expense to make it
comfortable.Most comfortable beds we have ever found
away from home.
The kitchen had everything you could possibly need , and
then some.
Housekeeping could be better. -
