This was a very nice and comfortable way to stay at the beach. There was no direct beach access, but the public access beach sites were an easy drive away from the cottage. The cottage is located in a quiet area, but it is still within a reasonable drive of all major area attractions. We had a wonderful, relaxing vacation.

Seaside Vacations relocated us by phone to this property at 4pm on Friday prior to Saturday check in. Yes, I reviewed property online, but pictures did not show dust, dirt and darkness. Furniture was broken, dust was settled on everything from TV to lamps. Bath mat moldy; no hot water in bathroom sink. A slight wind makes patio area unusable because of sand. After two complaints, no satisfaction from customer service; no attempt to upsale to a new location. Was not told the pier and gazebo were damaged and unusable as result of hurricane. I don't believe the property was refreshed from last tenant in august 2011. First time in 4 years I was dissatisfied with a property in Outerbanks. Will not recommend company to anyone because of poor service.

The evacuation order due to Hurricane Irene and swift re-entry order set the stage for concerns of safety issues for lives and properties first. The evacuation resulted in many vacationers and local residents struggling to get back onto the Outer Banks to return to their properties and vacation plans. Since the majority of the storm damage hit the soundside areas of the Outer Banks, most piers and gazebos as well as homes sustained heavy damage. We worked hard to relocate tenants that were in damaged homes to other available properties which were limited in availability. The offer to compensate you for fishing on Jennette's Fishing Pier was sincere on our part due to the damages of the pier at the property you rented.

After searching for a place to stay in Nags Head for a few weeks we decided on Soundridge. It was very near where some friends of ours would be staying and is one of the few 2 bedroom rentals with a pool that we had found. Upon arrival the house was not at all what we were hoping for. It was very dirty and musty smelling. The couch is broken with pieces of plywood covering up the sleeper portion with pillows on top of the wood and the cushions on top of that. The wood is molded and, of course, very uncomfortable. The recliner is broken and when I tried it out almost fell over backwards. Your feet are raised above your head, so really it's not even usable. The kitchen counters were sticky and greasy and I spent the better part of an hour cleaning up to make it tolerable. The bathrooms were in about the same condition. There were rings form the last peoples shampoo bottles, so it's safe to say that hadn't been cleaned either. The front and back porch lights were burned out as well. As if that's not enough, then the roaches came out. We checked in on Sat. evening, so I called first thing Sunday morning and left a message. Seaside had someone come to spray for the roaches and replace the lights by noon that day. Very impressive! However I have an 8 mo old who was in the car all day and wanted to get down to crawl around. I also spoke to someone about the furnishings and condition of the condo and she was very apologetic and told me she would look into it. Great, but that didn't help us. She gave us a $20 gift card to a coffee shop in the area for our trouble. Not really sufficient compensation for the miserable vacation we had. We spent $1,200, which to us is a lot, on a place that was really just a dump. The location and the grounds were very nice though. They have 2 pools which were not very crowded and a pier on the sound. The condo backs up to Jockey's Ridge and if you are sitting out back is an awesome view.

I want to thank the owner and Seaside Vacations for one of the most memorable vacations I have had. The condo was wonderful. Everything was convenient and relaxing. The only thing I missed was having Wi-fi for my laptop so I could post photos of this fantastic vacation. I did, however, find a coffe shop just a short drive from my condo to be able to do this. I recommend this fantastic get away to anyone out there. Again, thanks to Seaside Vacations for a wonderful vacation. I am already looking forward to another trip there.

I have rented through seaside vacations in the past and was very pleased but not this time. Our rental property was surrounded by spiders. My family and I could not even sit out on our patio and enjoy the scenery. None of the lights in the house worked, the bathroom rug was very dirty, and the toilets were constantly over flowing. I would not recommend soundridge unless it recieved the many updates needed. The decor is very garage sale meets flea market.

Overall, we had a great stay at this condo. The community is an older one but very well maintained. The neighbors, mostly year-round or seasonal residents, were very friendly. There are two wonderful pools with magnificent views of the sound. There is also a boat ramp about 300 yards from the unit. We brought a little Carolina Skiff and had a blast riding accross the sound to Manteo and checking out the yacths at Pirate's Cove. I wouldn't recommend trying to launch any boat other than a skiff though; the water is very shallow and the boat ramp is pretty tight. The unit itself is OK. You get what you pay for. The two bedrooms upstairs share one full bathroom in the hall, fine if everyone staying there is family but maybe not ideal if two couples are traveling together. There's another half bath downstairs. I felt the unit could have been a little cleaner. It wasn't dirty but I felt the cleaning crew could have done a better job. The unit was also a little dark; it didn't get all that much sunlight inside. But how much time do you really hang out indoors when you're in the OBX? In summary, I would stay here again. This place was a good value; just know that you're a good 7-10 minutes drive from the nearest ocean-side beach.

We stayed there over the labour day weekend and had a great time. The condo was located by the sound with anglers fishing away and the sunsets were just spectacular.
The cottage itself was very cosy and furnished like home instead of merely a rental. The patio faced the sand dunes and it made for a wonderful breakfast spot.
In terms of amenities, the pool was a bit old and dated. The condo also had only one bath though which we had to share with another couple who holidayed with us so that was a bit inconvenient.
