Our stay at High Tide was awesome and our experience with Outer Banks Blue was great. We loved the house as it was comfortable, clean and ready for us at 2 p.m. The keyless entry was something new for us and we absolutely loved it.

This house is very nice - the location right on the beach with a pool is wonderful. However, the basement had water damage and a terrible odor for the first 3 days of our stay. Also, the pool was not well maintained and actually dirty for half of our stay. I give the house 4 stars and the Management Company 2 stars.

House was nice, well appointed and comfortable. Greatroom TV could use upgrade. There was alot of sand around the pool that could have been cleaned up. Pool service didn't clean sand from pool, but turned on the hose to fill pool and let it run after they departed, which resulted in over fill. Otherwise, pleased.

Finksburg, MDOverall review of our vacation in High Tide
Left on 08/25/2011 for a stay in August 2011
This is our 2nd stay in High Tide and hope to be able to return as a family. We did find that the ceiling fans were too dirty to run, the cold air filter in the kitchen was filthy, thus the Master bdrm off the kitchen had a very dirty door and woodwork. The matresses in the rooms are in need of replacement and the pool furniture had been used very hard by the time we got there this year. There was also a broken toilet paper roll in the lowest level bathroom. These could all be improved on but, all in all High Tide is a great place to spend vacation with the family. Our grandchildren are building memories here and we hope to continue to do so.
This is my second report...hope the storm doesn't ruin this house or the rest. We love the Outer Banks!! -

We booked this house which promised beach access for the first week of June. There were problems with check-in, the promised internet, etc. The beach access we were promised when we booked was not availble to us--we had to walk several blocks in hot sand to get to the beach. Bulldozers ran outside the house all night keepting everyone up. It was a diaster.
The owner and rental company OuterBanksBlue said they had no control over our ruined vacation and therefore declined to make any adjustment in the rent we paid despite the fact we did not receive what was promised to us. Both the owner and the rental company benefited by this project on the beach but made us the innocent renters bear the cost. I would not trust the owner of this house or the rental company. Beware in nags head. Sincerely, Laurie -

Clay, NYA great week!
Left on 05/01/2011 for a stay in April 2011
We loved staying at High Tide over our april break. This was our first family vacation and we all traveled from different areas of the northeast. The house was beautiful and was full of many things that we thought we would need to bring from home (i.e. spices, dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent, etc). The location was perfect and within walking distance to some gift shops and restaurants. This isn't our first time to the Outer Banks, but this house was certainly one of the best with under 10 bedrooms. It had all of the decor and amenities of a larger beach house, but at a great price! It was easy to get to and a breeze to check in (we used the key code and it was very simple). Being the first people of the season to use the pool, we ran into a few minor difficulties with the heater, but they were very quickly resolved and we enjoyed the pool every day we were there!

We have been coming to Nags Head yearly, as a family since my youngest (of 5 children) and he is 26 now.. This was probably the best ever. The house was great, as was the location. This year we have 3 grandchildren (ages 4, 5 and 13). Walking distance to shops and convenience stores. Groceries just a few short miles away. Can't say enough good things about the experience. Hopefully we can repeat the same next year. Thank you Outer Banks Blue for the perfect vacation!

Great house! There was more than enough room for our group to interact as a whole, a small group or by oneself. We had teenagers and an 10 an under group and it was easy for all to go from the pool to the beach and back again. Although we had a "semi" private walkway to the beach (shared with a few other houses), it was no big deal. In fact, we got to know those families and even shared a few beach volleyball games, and our dogs played together, too.
The house is centrally located so easy trek to the grocery store, souvenir shops, and restaurants.
We enjoyed watching the dolphins every morning from the living room/top deck. We have lots of great memories in the pool, on the beach or just hanging at the house. -

- Interaction with Outer Banks Blue staff from the beginning to my last call to them was excellent. Keyless entry worked well for all of us.
- Home was decorated nicely. Plenty of games, books, movies and puzzles were provided for our entertainment while we were there.
- Location of this home was perfect, close to grocery stores, restaurants, and the outlet mall.
- What we liked best was being on the beach and having a heated pool at the same time.
- Problems we encountered or suggestions: 1) There were no tea towels and potholders provided in the kitchen. These items should always be provided. 2) recommend installing a DVD player in the master bedroom. 3) suggest installing a pet gate on the deck (baby gates did not work)to keep the dog from going to the beach on its own. 4) stove top reflectors were the wrong type for the burners which set in place on an angle, therefore all the pans/pots cooked on an angle and created problems.
What we liked the least: Having to leave and go home at the end of our vacation.
Thank you, Dee Durbin-Dodd -

very nice house, the included linens were a very nice touch. Great location near Duner's and Owen's (and the outlets).
the key code door lock was super - no need to worry about lost keys or making sure all parties had one during outside activities.
the only problems - we could not get the fireplace working, and the outside hoses were not working to top off the hot tub. And the vacuum cleaner was basically non-functional. -

Overall we had a terrific vacation. Love the fact
that you don't have to go and wait in a long line
at Realty office to pick up the key. Keyless
entry is the way to go. Plus it helps when you
have many families coming and going. No need to
worry who has the key.
The house was typical of what we have stayed in in
the past. However, it was closer than usual to
the houses on the right and left. There is also
beach access between the 2 houses that is used by
3 houses across the street. It was never a
problem, however, I think that side should have a
fence blocking the view/access to patio. Overall
the house was clean. The charcoal grill was
annoying and forced us to rent a gas grill. So
much easier when you're on Vacation! For a house
that holds 16 people, I felt the kitchen was not
stocked properly. On the first day we went to
make breakfast for 16, but it took forever because
of the availability of proper pans. There was no
griddle for pancakes and there were two 10 inch
teflon frying pans and one 6 inch frying pan. The
teflon cookware was in horrendous shape. That
could be because there was only metal pancake
turners and no spatulas. I did call the office
and although it took a second call, the next day,
they did send someone out with a small, single
burner griddle, another 10 inch fry pan and a 5
inch fry pan. They also showed up with a bundle
of plastic serving utensils. There should be
regular inspection of the kitchenware. There were
more than enough wine glasses and coffee cups, but
a little short on regular drink ware.
The appliances are ready for updating. The dryer
took forever to dry a small load, the burners on
the electric stove were slanted, which causes
uneven cooking and some of the dishwasher buttons
were completely worn off.
The location of the house was great for getting to
the grocery store and restaurants. -

Left on 07/29/2009 for a stay in July 2009
We were very pleased with all of the services and ammenities that came with the house. We liked the fact that we did not have to check-in anywhere and could go straight to the house after long drives to Nags Head and that there were no keys to deal with. The house was furnished well and very comfortable, however, another refrig (small one)would have been great in the upper area when you have a number of people in the house....perhaps by the wet bar.
We were disappointed in not being told that our stairs to the beach were to be used by others. They were nice people but were had to drag our stuff up and down everyday instead of being able to leave it at the top of the stairs like the neighbors.
On the whole we had a great vacation with almost perfect weather in a great house! -

Beautiful view & spacious. When assistance was need by the property manager we received quick attention.
The following needed attention : cleaning of drawers and utinsels in kitchen, and of the black mold in the upstairs master closet. Seating around the TV & fire place needs expanding if you have 16 people staying.
However, with two dishwashers, plenty of cooking utinsels, it was a delight.
Enjoyed watching the dolphins swimming by.Response from Outer Banks Blue - 02/24/2009

I apologize for your cleaning concerns that were outlined in this review. The property has gone through a thorough end of the season cleaning and I believe these issues may have been resolved.

Really enjoyed dealing with the staff and ability to just pay and check-in via the internet. House was in excellent condition and nicely furnished with essentials need the first night. Great location - best we've had in a number of years. Everything worked well and kitchen especially well equiped. Nice functional layout for multible families. Convenient to excellent food, national park entrance and Oregon Inlet and boat slips. Off season price special was great! Will probably try for similar place next door next year - unheated but clean pool.
Very disappointed in how the pool was presented - read as though ours was the last week and wasn't even clean on the last day advertised. ; but hadn't been cleaned in weeks and looked like a swamp wigth dead crabs, etc. Not a nice view when sitting on the deck. sent a photo to the web page but no action. -

We vacationed last week with our 2 daughters, our son-in-law, my sister, her best friend, a brother and 4 grandchildren (a 2 yr old, 10 month old twins and a 5 month old). The house was wonderful, we weren't running into each other, there was plenty of room. It was so nice to have the pool, the hot tub and the beach right there. The pool table was a lot of fun. There was a great selection of movies to watch. It was great to have an extra refrigerator downstairs. The pool was gated which was a bonus with the kids. It was so nice not to have to bring linens. The only thing I would suggest would be some big serving spoons in the kitchen.
