This house is so user friendly and convenient, especially for "mature" adults. The home is furnished nicely, well maintained and has a great, well stocked kitchen. The only thing I would add is an ice machine. And what's not to like about the pool, hot tub and of course the hammocks! Close to lots of restaurants, stores and activities on the banks.
The staff at Resort are all easy to work with and very helpful when you have a concern or problem. We will definitely be back next year.
Great house and very easy to deal with agent.

We had a very nice time at Hammock Hut and Resort Realty was very easy to deal with. Really like the keyless arrival and departure.

Nice house, dryer didn't work, but Resort Realty had someone out to fix it the same day I called! Nice- didn't expect that! Wonderful location.Only down part to this house is a poorly stocked kitchen. Not important unless you like to cook! Very comfortable Beach house- our second year to stay here. Would love to come in the summer to this location.
The nicest house we have ever stayed at!

The ocean front view was incredible and the full moon over the ocean is a beautiful sight I will never forget. We enjoyed the hot tub (one of use used it daily!)and we even had a day at and in the pool! The house is within walking distance to austin's Fish Market and a short drive to the Tanger Outlets. One could tell from the pictures that the bedrooms and baths would be fantastic, and they were. The new owner may want to upgrade the showers, however. They don't match the splendor of the rest of the bath. The house needs a new clothes dryer and there were two vacuums. The green one needs to be trashed, but the black one works great.
Couldn't have been better

Especially enjoyed the new audio/visual equipment. Would be great if the owners would register the Blue Ray player on the Internet so that we could use our Net-Flix account. Would suggest replacing the couches in the living room.

This house is very comfy. Although we have stayed in bigger, newer homes we were extremely happy with this house. The upkeep is great and the house just has a nice cozy layout as opposed to others we have rented. The views of the ocean and Jockey's Ridge are fabulous. The Hammocks were super comfortable. As other renters stated, the kitchen utensils and cooking items could use restocked and updated. That is the only negative we saw. Nice wetbar and TV in great room. The bedrooms and especially bathrooms are big!! No huge deck to climb to beach. They were finishing beach nourishment while we were there and have added at least 50 yards to beach. Awesome rental, do not hesitate.

We Found Our Forever Vacation Home

This is our third year visiting the Outer Banks. Our two previous homes were fine but were missing certain features that aren't usually mentioned in the descriptions. Hammock Hut had everything - access to the beach from all outside decks; outside deck access from 4 of the 5 bedrooms; only two stories; comfortable beds; large awesome bathrooms; roomy living room/den; large kitchen and plenty of dining space. The only issue was with the poor air circulation in the bedrooms without ceiling fans. We already booked for next year!
Wow what a beautiful house for a family vacation in Nags Head!!

Night lighting was inadequate. Lamps were needed on all side tables, above the game table and in the bedrooms ceilings as well as behind the sofas. Kitchen needed drainers that fit the sinks, 3 lights were out beneath kitchen counters. Pots and pans must be flat, not warped, for the glass top range. Dishwasher tilts every time a rack is pulled out. Kitchen needs paper towel holder and dish towel racks as well as dish towels and dish cloths. dry function does not work on the dishwasher. Oven light was out. Bed linens and bath towels for the powder room had to be requested a floor mat was needed for the kitchen in front of the refrigerator or the ice dispenser needs adjusting so the ice falls into the glass. An exhaust fan is needed for the children's bath. Bath mats are needed in all baths unless you expect the renters use your towels for this. Instructions are needed for using the jet tub.

the cottage was lovely inside and out. we had a wonderful time and would love to stay there again.the bathrooms were big and roomy and a pleasure to be in. the only thing that wasn't comfortable was the living room furniture. although it looked very inviting it was the most uncomfortable furniture we had ever sat on. other than that every thing was lovely. the porches were absolutely wonderful with the hammocks all around and the pool was wonderful too. i am not being picky about cleanliness, [ i have a cleaning business and i'm very good] but it was almost 5 stars and except for the living room furniture it was very comfortable. we loved it.

Overall, our stay at the Hammock Hut was great. The view was beautiful and the location on the beach was excellent. We enjoyed making use of the comfortable hammocks along the wrap around porch.
The only negatives were a refrigerator that smelled strongly of rotten fish (badly enough that we cleaned and deodorized it, including the freezer, before use), worn/broken furnishings and an insufficient amount of glasses, pans, etc. (there were only six of us so were were ok, but a larger family preparing meals in house would have trouble).

Compared to the other rentals, this particular house lacked the dishes, pots, pans, and cooking utencils that we needed to cook. I had to go and purchase various items such as a baking pan, grilling tools, dish towels, can opener, peeler, etc. Also, there weren't enough of wine glasses, drinking glasses, coffee mugs, etc.
In addition, the existing items are old and should replaced.

This is a perfect house for 2 small families or one large family. It has been kept up nicely with some recent interior work noticeable since our stay last year. Nice new gas grill as well. Would like to see some umbrellas out at the pool as it is brutal without any shade, also a trash can out at the pool would make it easier to keep the area clean. Could also use more kitchen basics like a decent corkscrew and more cooking and storage bowls.

Hammock Hut Review
Left on 07/07/2010 for a stay in June 2010 | Kelly Ralston
Overall we give our experience at Hammock Hut a 4.5* rating. The location was great and the house and amenities offered everything we were looking for. Our only negative was that the kitchen was not adequately equipped for a house that supports 12 guests + optional pullout couch. The glassware, pots and pans were severly lacking. In addition, we placed a service call at the beginning of the week regarding the minibar refridgerator which went unanswered the entire week. In addition, the pool was never serviced mid-week. One last concern was that the previous renters left the house in filthy condition which was not adequately compensated for by the cleaning service. This included the fact that the house (though reported as a non-smoking environment) reeked of smoke upon our arrival. I would not recommend permitting that renter to return as we really should have been given some sort of compensation for the horrendous smell--particularly given that several of our family members are allergic to smokle. Despite these inconveniences, we would return to the Hammock Hut.
Love the Hammocks
Happy in Hammocks
Left on 06/23/2010 for a stay in June 2010 | Love the Hammocks
Loved the location - close to everything we wanted to do. Took numerous mid-day naps in the Hammocks. The pool was a very nice feature as most houses in this area do not have pools.
