      Not Up To Expectations

      The location of the house is excellent. The views are spectacular. We had trouble with many of the appliances, however. The water filter in the refrigerator was expired and we asked for another one, but it was never addressed. The ice maker leaked. The kitchen faucet leaked. The cooktop had 5 burners, but 2 were broken. Neither fireplace worked when we arrived, but we had a serviceman come for that. Then, the master bedroom fireplace worked, but the living room fireplace still would not light. We had trouble regulating the temperature of the house (cold downstairs and hot upstairs). Our request for blankets was met immediately by guest services. We had an issue at check in with some trash and dead bugs downstairs, and Seaside Vacations did send someone out to clean those areas again. The bugs were everywhere, though, and we just tried to ignore them. Overall, the house is nice, but many things are broken. This house has obviously seen many guests and definitely needs many things fixed before it is rented again.

      Nice, spacious house but needs some work

      Overall, it was a good experience with some issues. Very spacious home, great view, location. The upkeep could have been much better, i.e. kitchen sink wouldn't shut off correctly, trash around the pool deck (my dad picked it up), bugs, all the Tv's in every bedroom were fuzzy, broken ceiling fans in some of the bedrooms, leaky dishwasher, broken ice machine, the master bedroom had a weird, moldy smell and damaged carpet, etc. It was very evident the house is used a lot and could use some work but overall we had a good experience.

      Great weather and great friends- House a little overused when we

      House had a few issues, (Ocean Paradise). Carpet was stained, Hot tub jets did not all work, Ocean front bedroom did not have a working shower (we were reimbursed 200 for the inconvenience). Hoses around the house were broken and could not use. Only access to the pool and beach was through downstairs door, (should have realized this with the pictures, but second and third floor balconies did not have stairs to go down). Kitchen was well stocked and that was nice, but cramped when more than one person is cooking. Beds were comfortable. Microwave Oven is under the center island, weird.

      Great stay in excellent location

      We booked this home for a first time Outer Banks family reunion. The location could not be better and everyone had a great time on the beach (right outside), swimming in the pool, and using the home's amenities (love the double dishwasher and washer/dryers x 2). The place could have been just a bit cleaner (esp. master shower). Also, when we had problems, management responded quickly.

      Somewhat disappointing because of condition of home

      The ammenities were there but we had trouble with some of the things, such as the cooktop was partially not working. We had one shower stall that leaked so bad we could not use. One couple had to share with another for the shower. We were not offered any credit after we had paid a top price for the one week rental. The TV reception was terrible in some rooms.

      Good - with reservations

      Our party had two rental houses - Ocean Paradise and Pebble Beach. Both of them had plenty of space, nice pools, and hot tubs. The children loved going from beach, to pool, to hot tub over and over again. Each of them also had enough space for our entire party to dine together-32 people. Keyless entry was great. I must say though I was disappointed in the condition they were in - not terrible, but not as good as I expected given the price we paid - 20,000+ for 1 week for the two. Pebble Beach had a dishwasher that was out of service and rain came in at the top of the door going out to the upper deck when it stormed. Ocean Paradise had mold in the bathrooms, the ice maker upstairs did not work properly, the was some ripped carpet in the master bedroom, holes in the bathroom wall in one bedroom on the second floor, drainage issues in the showers. And I do not understand why you would supply a house that big with only one dish towel for the kitchen.

      Ocean Paradise also had a broken smoke detector, which was fixed, then replaced, but the experience we had when calling to report the problem wasn't good. It was chirping about every minute because it had no battery. When it starting I called (about 8:30 or so) and the young lady said she would contact maintenance. I called back about an hour later- she said she had tried every 15 min and was not able to reach anyone and that she would keep trying. No one ever came or called but it finally stopped chirping so we were able to sleep. When I called the next morning I reported this incident so you may have already logged this one. We had a very good week overall, but I am not sure we would rent these again.

      Not up to the 9,000 charge

      I feel the house could have used some up keep. Oven was broken, carpet in master had a big rip, throw rug in master was a scrap of the carpet in the master. Not much deck furniture and what was there was broken. Location was great and we did have a great time but I would expect for the price we paid to have these things taken care of. When you try to call you are expected to leave a message and you would call back when you have time. Sorry I am on vacation and do not expect to sit and wait for a return call. Internet very slow my husband need this for work.

      Not a well kept property

      Master Bedroom smelled like mildew, this was the main complaint. The smell was overwhelming and the carpets need to be replaced or professionally cleaned at a minimum.

      There were about a 1/2 dozen noteworthy damaged items that needed to be called in to make sure we were not charged for the damage.

      Other inconveniences were an inoperable ceiling fan, missing pool table balls, crappy cable, the towels that were provided did not include a bath mat for use when exiting the shower and had a poor quality (do not rely on these towels). The kitchen was very poorly equipped. The ice maker dispenser in the refridgerator was broken.

      Seaside did an okay job dealing with these issues but they could have done a much better job. Their phone system is a nightmare and you are put on hold immediately if you have an issue with an existing rental.

      My aunt and Uncle were four doors down and paid the same price for a house twice the size, much nicer and had much better amenities, and nothing was wrong with the property. So the value on this house was not there.

      work and relax

      House was great with each bedroom having its own bath. Awesome. We had some huge Palmetto bugs in various rooms at various times but other than the ladies screaming here and there they did not bother us and they left the beers alone. Cool place. Wish the pool had been opened but it was cold in late October. The Jacuzzi was quite nice.

      The house was very clean and very nice.
      It was very comfortable.
      The beach was very nice and clean.
      We had a problem with the pool and it was not serviced effectively. We called a few times and no one came out to fix the problem, therefore we had no pool for 3 days.
      There were a row of bungalows next to us with a bad garbage problem. We could not sit on the deck for a couple of nights.

      We just returned from Nags Head on Sunday. From the moment we drove up to the house we knew that this was going to be a wonderful place to stay for a week. The distance from the beach was amazing. The modern decor made you feel right at home. The kitchen was stocked with everything you would need. It was really a home away from home. We found a few maintenance issues but nothing that could have ruined our love for the home. Thank you!

      Everything about this home is top of the line. Ample kitchen appliances for a bit Thanksgiving dinner. We didn't stay here in the summer, but the double washer and dryer units would be great during beach weather.
