I probably shouldn't be writing this, because I don't necessarily want to share this house with the world -- I'd prefer it stayed somewhat secret. But credit is due to the owners, who continually upgrade this house and make you feel as if you're staying in someone's own home and not in a rental -- regular OBX visitors will know what I mean. You can't beat the location (on the dune, overlooking the SNH beach), and the house has every amenity you could reasonably need. The only improvement I'd suggest woudl be better outdoor showers. Other than that, this place is great.

Kitty Hawk Rentals provided excellent service and met all of our needs. The home was updated this year. We have rented this same home for many, many years. South Nags Head is quiet and allows pets on the beach. The beach restoration from last summer provided a wide beach that survived the winter. The beach is great for relaxing, running, playing with your dog, or watching the sunrise.

We have stayed at this rental for quite a number of years. It is spacious and has good, direct, easy access to the beach. This year we were "lucky" enough to have the beach restoration project under way while we were there...directly in front of us! By the end of the week it had moved along up the beach so that we could finally walk directly out to the water. The "new" beach is beautiful and very wide! Our Golden Retriever likes staying here with us, too! He enjoys the beach and the waves with us. The house is neat and clean and Kitty Hawk Rentals is a good company, too. The owners make improvements every year, which is nice, too.

This house is very well located with plenty of space for our group. The deck, complete with deck chairs, was great for dolphin watching. The owners allowed pets and our dog loved it. The location was terrific for morning jogs and easy beach access, which the kids and adults loved. I thought it was expensive for a duplex, though no one was on the other side. I don't know if noise would be an issue if both sides were booked. The coffee makers didn't work, which was a bit inconvenient, but otherwise, the kitchen was well stocked.

Since this is a duplex we had constant parking problems. The people renting the other side had 3 Suvs and a huge boat, so we ended up having to park in a little corner and got blocked in most of the time. I thought the house was not very clean. The kitchen was well appointed. The stairs became a problem with our particular situation. Bedroom blinds were broken so we were streaking through the room all week. Vacuum was broken and in pieces. I was disappointed given the cost, and basically, I was very happy for the week to end.

Have stayed in this rental for many years so always comfortable and we like the location. One item this year and last were the ants that need to be taken care of when we arrived. Called the office and they sent someone the next day to spray. Other than this minor issue the house is clean and comfortable the new phone/internet service is much improved they owners could upgrade their Tv's in the house.

Wonderful sunrises viewed from either level deck each day. Improved beach access via new wooden walkway over the dune. Directly on the beach. Allows pets and our dog has loved it. Dogs are also allowed on the beach (leashed) in this part of South Nags Head. Roomy enough for extended family to enjoy. Owners make some improvements each year. Have stayed here for quite a few years. Plan to return again next year.

My husband and I rented this home with another family to include 4 teenagers & one dog. This home is wonderful! My family has been to the OBX 6 years now & this home is among one of our favorite. Decor is great, very clean, new furnishings, & the home is very comfortable & convenient to so many different locations & restaurants. Of all the homes we have rented, this kitchen is the most equipped - no need to bring any gadgets from home. There are two outside showers & a hose which came in handy after our dog's ocean swim & roll on the beach! The only negative I can come up with is the public access which is directly next door. The beach was a bit more crowded than we are used to but it really wasn't a problem. We just had to make sure to set up our beach chairs early in the morning. Other than that, I definitely recommend this home. Great house!
