Nantucket South (#482 Cove Realty) is a clean, bright, pet friendly home in quiet area at milepost 17.5 on the west side of Old Oregon Inlet Road. The direct walk to the beach is 700 feet. This area is between the beach and Atlantic Ocean to the east, and the Cape Hatteras National Seashore... Park property to the west. You can view the natural vegetation of the National Park, the bridge to Manteo over Roanoke Sound, and the ocean from the upper floors of the home. The home has 4 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms, the three bedrooms on the second floor all have private baths. One bedroom has a king bed, the other two have queen beds. The first floor bedroom can sleep four children or very good friends in a pyramid bunk bed with a double bed on the bottom, twin mattress on top, and twin size trundle bed slides out from beneath.. All bedrooms have cable TV.

The home features a hot tub on second floor deck along with one bedroom with deck access, and two additional master bedrooms with view of the National Seashore Park and Roanoke Sound. The hot tub is not available in winter. The third floor features a screened porch and open deck, a spacious fully equipped kitchen with bar that seats four, dining area with seating for eight, open living area with DVD player, CD player, puzzles, games, and books and in the winter gas logs are available. There is a Wii game system - bring your favorite games. On the first floor there is a laundry room with full size washer and dryer, iron and ironing board. An outdoor shower is on the first floor porch. There is parking for up to 3 vehicles.

Walk to the beach in under 5 minutes. New for 2012 and continuing for 2013, your rental includes a membership to the Outer Banks Family YMCA (MP11) for the length of your stay at no additional charge, a $90 value. The YMCA has an outdoor skateboard park, one indoor pool, two outdoor pools, large exercise facility, exercise classes, two racquet ball courts, and during the summer once weekly parent's night out programs. Take advantage of the YMCA in case of inclement weather, or keep up on your fitness activities.

Dogs are allowed on the beach in Nag's Head at all times of the year, as long as they are on a leash ten feet in length or shorter.Read more

This is a quiet area of Nags Head, between the National Park property with native vegetation, and the Atlantic Ocean and the beach. The house is just past milepost 17.5 on Old Oregon Inlet road, between the historic Jenette's Pier and Outer Banks Fishing Pier. It is very close to Whalebone Junction, and a quick drive to historic Manteo with the Aquarium and the Lost Colony play. This central location is close to several public boat launch areas, the Oregon Inlet fishing center, the Bodie Island lighthouse. It is a perfect base for a day trip to Hatteras Island or Ocracoke Island. Numerous restaurants are within a short driving distance, including Outer Banks favorites Owens' Restaurant celebrating their 67th year, Sam and Omie's, South Beach Grill, and Dune Burger, and late night favorite Lucky 12 Tavern. The 7-11 at Whalebone Junction has discount drink refills if you reuse your Big Gulp cup! Bring your bicycle and do a ten mile loop around Old Oregon Inlet Road and Route 12, or bicycle to the Bodie Island Lighthouse. Shopping is nearby at the Tanger Outlet Center, or at downtown Manteo. Bring your own kayak to explore the sound, or rent a kayak or boat from local vendors. Free tennis courts are nearby at Nags Head Parks and Rec Office or Manteo Community Center.
