House was about what we expected. Quite a bit of dog hair but this is a "dog friendly" home. House needs some basic maintenance done and it could be really nice. Owners should splurge for a decent knife set. It was frustrating to cook with a great selection of dull knives. Some blinds were broken which let the sun in earlier than desired. We have rented in this area for ten years and this house was our least favorite. In fairness, great views, nice hot tub, and clean pool. Deck platform was enjoyable.

I have been renting houses in the outer banks for over 25 years. We were disappointed and disgusted in the condition of the house and housekeeping related to the house. We chose this house for its proximity to the beach for my daughter who has ms and for the pool for the kids. For a property that was marketed at a premium price of $6,000 a week, this one leaves a lot to be desired. In particular we noticed the following, and I have attached pictures of some of these items:
· AC failed on 2nd day
· The basketball rim was broken.
· The roof had dust kittens..
· The bathroom on the top floor leaked..
· We found a pair of red panties a tube of KY...
· The refrigerator in the downstairs bedroom was full of shrimp and octopus from some previous week..
· Watermarks and mold type stuff on second floor
· One bathroom had missing nozzle for shower.
· The upstairs bedroom has no water pressure when other bathrooms are used
· The gate lock to the pool is broken which is safety risk. There were metal parts lying in the sand around the pump... There were also beer bottles and suntan lotion around the pool deck area..
· Finally, my granddaughter tore her underwear on a nail sticking out of the couch and scratched her skin.. This could have been a lot worse..
It is obvious that the house is not being maintained and whoever is cleaning and inspecting the houses for Resort Realty is doing subpar work. Upon communicating these issues to Management at Resort, they apologized and said they would give us a waiver on next years admin fee (which was waived this year so no break) and give us a week of free linen (again no cost to Resort). Based on our experience, it is doubtful that we will use Resort Realty for any future rental and I cannot in good conscience recommend it to any friend or colleague. Read more

There is some maintenance that needs to be done on this rental. Along with cleaning crew might need some additional training on how to vacuum and dust and washing windows. It is frustrating to check in and have to do all this before we can enjoy our vacation. Read more

It was a very relaxing and enjoyable vacation. The only problem that we encountered were the fleas and the inconvenience of having to leave the house for 3 hrs while it was treated. Other than that the house was great. It had the amenities of home and then some. The hot tube was very relaxing. The pool was great and refreshing after spending time on the beach. We all had a great vacation and will be back down in 2 years. Read more

Thank you for your feedback. We're very sorry you had to deal with flea challenge. These houses are treated periodically, however, we have had a very tough flea season. We're glad to hear the rest of your vacation went well and we look forward to seeing you next year!

This house was awesome!! The only thing I would change is the washer and dryer could be bigger! Also the counters in kitchen needed redone, but other than that it was very nice!! We also could not get lights on around pool!
Clean and repair

I love the house. I have rented the house three times now. The house is in need of cleaning and upgrading. The furniture is filthy. It was hard to sit on the couch because it is sooo dirty. The carpet could sure stand a good shampooing or replacement. The swivel chair at the end of the couch is so uncomfortable, cushions need to be replaced and the frame needs a good cleaning. My take on the house is that the owner uses it as a cash cow takes everything out of it, and puts nothing back into it. The house for the cost of one week really needs some attention.
The queen size bed in the upper floor room was made with double size sheets that were put on in side out. By the morning the sheet was off the corners, that is the fitted sheet.
I have no problem paying for anything but I do expect to get what I paid for. The wifi never worked, the screen porch was not usable due to the screens missing and or torn up.
Resort Realty have always been wonderful to work with.

We stayed here for the second year in a row. The house has everything you need to be comfortable--lot's of dining room chairs, the kitchen is well stocked, there are games for the kids. The pool and hot tub were great and the house is right on the beach. We've tried about 4 different rentals and this house is a winner. We'll keep coming back here in the future.

We loved the view, location, supplies/utensils, and the house set-up. What kept it from being perfect was that our dog came home with a few dead fleas and my daughter has mysterious bites on here feet. We did not notice any infestation while we were there. We are still considering renting this house again next year. The owners may want to consider treating the house once a month to control any potential infestation developing.

This house is the best house that we have rented down in the Outer Banks so far. I loved the decks and it was very spacious. It never felt too crowded in any of the rooms. The view from the main floor was fantastic. The only thing that I did not like was the room on the 1st floor w/the two bunk beds. My daughters and nephews slept in there and they range in ages 9 to 15. It just felt like they were not attached to the main house. As for that, it was great.

This was a great place to stay. The only problem is that the air conditioning did not work well on the 1st level (where most of the bedrooms were located).
Fabulous roomy house with great ocean views and well stocked kit

Absolute Searenity lives up to its name! We had several cooks with us who raved about the kitchen as well as those of us who enjoyed the open floor design on the top floor for socializing. Wifi was appreciated too! The only thing that would have contributed more to this wonderful experience would have been a game room with a pool table. Thanks to the owners for having this great house for rent :)

The house was great and well taken care of. The views were absolutely gorgeous and the house was closer to the beach than the pictures had made it appear. It was nice of the owners to leave items such as blenders and a Kitchen Aid, but skillets and frying pans that weren't warped would have been great as well. It was hard to cook evenly.
The set up with two adult bedrooms sharing a bathroom was a bit odd, but we worked around it. Also, the pool was leaking and the realty told us to leave the water on. This created a problem with indoor water pressure when we were trying to give the kids showers after being on the beach.
All in all, great house.
Absolute Searentity was absolutely fantastic!

From the moment we checked in (I absolutely love the early check-in option), we had a fantastic time! The staff was friendly, courteous and efficient. Check-in took less than a minute! The house was beautiful and comfortable enough for my family of seven plus my parents and dog. The pool had a leak and I was thrilled to see the pool company come by the house EVERY DAY to check on it. However, I would tweak the housecleaning a bit more. I purchased cleaning supplies to get the built up grime off the kitchen cabinets (around the knobs) and many of the dining room chairs and counter stools. My husband and I have been vacationing at the Outer Banks for over 25 years! As a child in the 1960's, my family camped in the Outer Banks!! I've come a long way, baby!! Now, "roughing it" means we don't have a private pool and we aren't oceanfront (hahaha). I remember when NOBODY knew what OBX meant!!! We love the location (MP20)...away from the hustle and bustle. We hope to own our own "dream come true" some day! Thanks for making our annual tradition a wonderful experience AGAIN!!
This house is in a great location!

Absolute Serenity was a great house. My family really enjoyed relaxing in the pool and hot tub. The ocean view was wonderful and the beach was perfect and not at all crowded. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook seafood dinners for our entire family. We liked that there was a bedroom and bathroom on the top floor that gave our parents privacy while the adult children and grandchidren had plenty of room to spread out on the middle floor. The house and pool area was very clean and well maintained. There was plenty do do right at the house that could have kept us busy for the entire week but our favorite thing about this house was the location. Being in South Nags Head we were very close to shopping, resturants, and an many other attractions.
