We had a horrible experince with this year's rental. The house is dirty and in a state of disrepair. There are too many negative things to list. This is by no means a "premier" rental. The only positives to this house is the decking and the ocean views!

Grill not useable, half bath not useable do to no door, major mildew in Mbath on top floor, floors stick and dirty, we bought deodorizers for all bathrooms. Plenty of bedrooms for our family of 11.
Loved the flip key and early check in. Also Resort Realty was wonderful about everything. -

We've been vacationing at the OBX for 14 years and this was one of our best trips. Although the house needs a little upgrading (specifically the pool furniture and the kitchen tools), it was, for the most part, lovely! This is out favorite spot on the beach (milepost 15), it is quiet, private, expansive, just beautiful!

This is a lovely spacious home. The family enjoyed pool time daily, walks to the beach, and the aura of the outer banks. We have been coming to the area for 30 years. This was the cleanest and most ready house we have had.

We all loved the house. Our favorite spot to hang out when not at the beach or pool was the second floor deck with the swing chairs. The furniture was comfortable and not wicker or rattan!!

Our children and grandchildren shared this house with us for the week (until Hurrican Earl and a mandatory evacuation), and we had a wonderful time there. The house was perfect for all of our needs. We wanted to have a pool and be oceanfront, and we needed the bedroom space for four little ones. We liked the three master suites for the six adults, and we especially liked the fact that we had very little foot traffic at the beach. We felt like we were on our own individual beach, so the grandchildren could be all over the place and not bother other people. It was a great house.

Our stay was fabulous. We were disappointed when we arrived that the pool only had 3 loungers and the pool like was out, but we were impressed by how quickly someone came and took care of the situations. We had more lounge chairs and the light was fixed by Monday. It was great customer service.

We were quite pleased with this home overall. However we did not understand why the main cable box was in the small lowest level rec. room and not up in the main livingroom space. Also, as for the main livingroom---it is a sizable room for, in today's standards, a 30 plus inch TV does not do it. I know the TV fits into the cut out, but our 1/2 rainy week needed the entertainment indoors, so a flat TV hung over the Fireplace or covering part of the cut out area would have been better. As for, Resorts Realty, very easy to work with---loved the check-in ease and check-out call in. The premium linens package was great with the beds already made. The cleaning person was great to see on both ends of the trip--she was so pleasant!

This home is one of the Resort Club properties, offering early check-in (the best!) and a host of other amenities common to these properties.
The home was slightly smaller than homes we have rented on the Outer Banks in previous years, but the proximity to the beach, the driveway parking areas, and early check-in made up for the smaller kitchen and great room. The pool was an adequate size for those of us in our party who used it and the hot tub was right next to it. The beach was fairly wide here, uncrowded, and the lifeguard station was a few houses down the beach at the public beach access. The location was convenient to grocery stores (about two miles, if that), Dairy Queen and Subway-which were both close enough to walk to. There was also a nice walking/biking/jogging path parallel to Virginia Dare Trail which was right at the entrance to the driveway and went north and south. My only wish would be for curb-side recycling. Reservations and other communication with Resort Realty was always professional and timely. Would rent again from Resort and especially a Resort Club property.

We truly enjoyed staying at the Brown Pelican! It had everything we needed. It
was also close to grocery stores and places to shop. It had awesome decks.
We enjoyed sitting on the deck each morning, having coffee and watching the
ocean. We would have loved some warmer weather, but we knew we were
taking our chances in April! -

2009 is the first year we have NOT rented the Brown Pelican in a number of years. In fact, when your company took over renting the property, we followed the house to your company. Last year we had to place several calls to you, the rental company, regarding repairs needed on the property. In addition, there were a number of problems with the property that had been there for years that we did not report (example shower door leaks in upstairs master bath - there is water damage to the floor as a result of damage over time) Our group felt that while we loved the property, that maintenance and care on the property were not in keeping with what we were paying. This year, sadly, we moved on to a new property and new rental company.
