Very beautifully decorated and clean. It is well equipped with all the kitchen supplies (dishes, pots and pans, baking, glasses, etc.). It is very convenient to the beach and a beautiful view of the coast when on the beach. It is very close to all grocery stores, restaurants, fishing piers and family fun areas. We highly recommend this home!
had a good time

We had a wonderful vacation and found the home to be very comfortable. The house was a bit dusty and found two empty water bottles in the master bedroom. The dvd player is not connected to the tv and had to unplug the cable to view dvd's. This was not really a problem but was an issue with the previous renter as per there entry in the rental log book on the premises. Overall we had a great experience withe the rental and would not hesitate to rent again. Thanks!!! -George Mikuchonis
The week was too short.

The cottage was good, but had some issues. We were pleased that, although smoking was allowed, it didn't smell. It could use a good cleaning (kitchen cabinets, carpets, upholstery, a king mattress cover that was covered in black dog hair and dirty artificial flowers and cross-stitched decorations) and some minor repairs (broken drawers, kitchen cabinets that would not stay closed and loose electrical plugs). On the whole, the cottage was laid out well for our group, had a nice screened porch and deck, clean outside shower, comfortable beds and was well-equiped over-all. We liked the location and ease of access to the beach. We would consider renting this cottage again.

The house was older which is okay, but a few things could be updated to make it more amenable. The kitchen had alot of old stuff that could be replaced with some new basics like pitchers and tupperware.
The air conditioning was not efficient. We called about it and changed the filter ourselves. Not sure if anyone came and checked it or not. It got better later in the week, maybe cause the weather cooled down and the filter change.
Was a quick walk to the beach and a short drive to dinner .

We enjoyed being close to the beach because we had a small child with us. Also was nice being close to the pier. The house set up was ideal for 2 families or for a family with children.
Thoroughly enjoyed the location...location...location!

While we have always vacationed at Nags Head, this was the first time going through Resort Realty. Upon check-in I wasn't thrilled with the customer service. When we arrived at the rental, we noticed a car still in the driveway. I went up and knocked on the door to find (2) employees re-checking the premises...Red Flag. Once we unloaded and settled in we noticed the a/c wasn't working properly. I figured I would give it a day to see how it did. The following day a/c still was not working. So I called Tanya at Resort, which went above and beyond to try to resolve the situation. After having them bring (2) window units out and also having the knowledge I do about Hvac, they had a repair person come out for the 3rd time and repaired the outdoor unit. Fyi: the add stated this house had new dishwasher, new stove and new central heat and a/c. All of which was by far new. Don't care for false advertisement. I also told Tanya they really needed to correct that. I have rental property so I understand how hard it is to keep up with everything but also knowing the amount I paid to rent this house, I was disappointed at the things that did not work...such as small appliances, the dishwasher did not work and wouldn't clean dishes (again stated new dishwasher), Hvac, some Tv's we had to be reconnected. etc...If the house had some TLC I would probably rent it again because overall, I loved the location. (Close to the beach, pier and oregon inlet) I think that is what we paid for because I don't feel the house was worth the amount.

convenient but pricy

We enjoyed our stay and Resort Realty was very professional and courteous, and prompt in delivering the opportunity; however....
It would have been good to know that there are two houses, (not just the one viewable from the website), between this house and the ocean. Egress to and from the ocean was OK, but even with the windows open, one can barely hear the ocean surf, and you surely can't see it. We knew from the listing that it wasn't "on the beach."
Because of the manner in which the house is built, the breeze on the back porch and screened in porch is scant at best. Many of the steps (front and back) are dangerously close to rotting out of place, and you had to be careful not to lose your balance negotiating them in the dark.
The air conditioning needs an upgrade, but works well enough given its overall age and condition...I'm an HVAC contractor and notice such things. The ductwork has been butchered due to probable remodels through the years, and some of it is exposed and uninsulated under the house.
Kitchen: there were ants around the sink throughout our stay, not many, but over a dozen were spotted and subsequently dealt with by us during our stay. I'm a fanatic about tracking their source, but could not figure where they were coming from. Many of the pots, pans, dishes, utensils were not clean enough to use without first thoroughly washing them.
Not to big of an issue was the fact that the garden hose nozzle was useless and should be thrown away, and I don't mean to be trifling. One of the drawers in the master bedroom was broken and unusable.
Overall, my wife and I felt for the limited stay we booked (4 nights---Wed thru Sun a.m.) and the location and construction of the house, the price was a bit steep, but we're not sure what the market bears. Having stayed in OBX many times, we certainly appreciated the solitude offered by South Nags Head, and getting around from that end of the island is certainly more convenient.
We slept really well!

Casa Del Sol has a cozy house with easy beach access. We could hear the surf, but we weren't able to see the beach even from the decks because of the dune height. The two king sized beds were very comfortable - the most comfortable beds that we have slept in at the beach in several years. We have been renting at the Outer Banks for 30 years! The living room furniture was worn, and the TV in the living room required an engineer and electrician to operate (luckily we had both with us)! The kitchen was a good size but the shelves and drawers were crammed full of unnecessary utensils and random pots and pans. A simple re-organization and weeding out of kitchen cookware would make this kitchen perfect. There were a lot of plates for a home that only sleeps 8, so a free cabinet for groceries would be nice also. Otherwise, it was a very nice home and we would stay there again. The home is also very conveniently located to stores and the beach in front of the home is wide and was not crowded.

Great location to the beach. House is very outdated and could use some upgrading, especially with regards to the mattresses. But, the price was okay based on the house itself.

This cottage had great beach access with no roads to cross, however it was very basic & outdated. The main concern I had while staying there was that the air conditioning could not be set below a certain point & it was not sufficient to properly cool the house (especially in the afternoon) and children who had wanted to sleep in the top bunks could not becqause of the heat.
My first attempt to wash clothes greeted me with a washing machine that was not operating properly and quite honestly I would have been afraid to put anything it it I cared about. After calling Resort Realty, the owners replaced the machine the next day. I was very thankful for that.
Clean and useful but needs some freshening!

This was a very affordable place being so close to the beach. The house and it's contents were clean and useful. We found two aspects of our stay that could have been better. The house was quite dark inside, particularly with all the dark paneling on the walls. Also, the kitchen cabinets were so cluttered with items that there was hardly any space to put away food items for a week. We noted that much of the clutter was due to way too many coffee mugs (even if the house was full and everyone drank coffee!) and far too many repeated pots and pans. Clear out some of the excess and this kitchen would still be well stocked!
First time for the grandkids to visit the ocean.

All the people I talked to (three) at Resort Realty was very nice and helpful. We enjoyed our stay very much. The house was clean and most things worked fine. The living room furniture was a bit uncomfortable. Also we had trouble with the front door locks. It would have been nice to be right on the beach, but it was just a short walk. I liked the fact it was close to the pier. It was great to have our family spend time together. To see how much fun our grandkids had was icing on the cake. Thank you!

The service provided by Resort Realty; was excellent. Very nice people to talk with and very quick responses to emails.
The House was very clean upon arrival!! Nice & cool inside. I had some guests invited during my week and they LOVED the home! Arranged very nice for extra company. The outside decks were great in the evening hours. Carports were nice to keep the cars out of the sun! Kitchen was nice, however we did NO cooking cause we went out every night to eat. The bedrooms were great. The invited guests loved the bunk room which served our purpose very well!!
One issue was the bedroom over the carport. NOT the bunk room. The room with 2 double beds.
There were winged ants in the beds after the third night. YES in both beds and that bathroom next to that room. Thy were in the tub/shower too. They were under the blanket/covers in both beds! However...NO issues in any other part of the house.
Just in those areas.
House was well kept, and one lady LOVED the washer/dryer in the lower section. House was sound and solid. The owner should be proud of this unit & I would not hesitate to rent this exact unit again if I can get it.
Perhaps the flying ants in th bed was a freakish thing...since it wasn't in any other section of the home.
MY BOTTOM LINE: Service from Resort Realty was great!! Home was very clean and well kept. Nicely located to the beach. Felt very nice to spend a week in that home!!!!
