Fantastic Forrest Family Vacation at Diamond Dunes
Left on 07/11/2013 for a stay in June 2013 | Krista Forrest
From the moment we walked in and saw how clean and beautiful the cottage was we were so happy that we came back for the second year and will book again in 2014. We love the location, are thrilled to be on the ocean and kids are fine without a pool.
Nice linens were left on the beds, cottage had everything we needed with access to broom and dust pan and vac which was very nice with 5 children. Beach location was good for surfing and playing in the water. Last year there was a trash can at the beach access but not this year. Would be nice to have one.
We were very surprised as there was a bit of vandalism on our beach. We have never had a problem before and would always leave chairs, small toys and other items at the bottom of the steps. This year we had two bogie boards that were old taken and items that went with a beach game. One morning we discovered that several tent set-ups on the beach were tipped upside down. Nothing very important but miffed that they took items that we used for a game. Think it was just young kids goofing off. Without a doubt we will go again next year and just hope there is not an increase in price.
Nice house, nice location

Nice clean house with everything we needed. Only rhing less than ideal was that it was right beside a public beach access.
Very nice time

Great stay at Diamond Dunes...nicely furnished, excellent location...walked out to the deck to view the sunrise every day. Hot tub was great. Food Lion and TW Tackle few minutes away. Only issue was the house is right next to the public access ramp/path so we didn't have "our" own private beach but that is probably true for most places...other than that, great!

Nags Head, NC what a great place,

Before renting in Nags Head NC, I did a lot of research on the net and found this wonderful cottage, oceanfront called Diamond Dunes, which had everything we wanted, hottub, oceanfront we had our private entrance to the beach, how cool is that, 6 bedrooms, 4 full bathrooms, etc etc. I was skeptical regarding the pictures I had the realtor how old were they and they garanteed not more than one year, well they were right, what you see on their website is what you get, wow, a beautiful place, big, spacy. We were 7 adults, two couples and three singles and we each had our private room and the singles shared two bathrooms where the couples had theirs and they also had a private balcony. The coolest they have an outdoor shower wonderful we all used it instead of the inside shower, it reminded me when I was a kid, we did not have an outdoor shower but we had big metal tubs my mom used for the laundry :), as you could see a bit of the beach it was awesome. Check out this cottage, but put in Diamond Dunes in Nags Head, NC and there it is # 5413 - enjoy we sure did.
Fantastic Forrest Family Beach Week.

Our entire week was just wonderful. Arrived to find such a beautiful, comfortable, clean cottage with beds made. We were ready to get on the beach for afternoon fun. We had stayed at Diamond Dunes the year before so knew what a perfect cottage it was for us. Only one suggestion that maybe inside cabinet doors there would be a list of items contained in that cabinet. It was a bit difficult trying to put things back where they came from with different members cooking and others cleaning up. Tried to leave the cottage as tidy as possible but hard to get packed, cleaned and out by 10 am. Of course no one wanted wanted to leave. Wish we could afford 2 weeks as that would be heaven. Reality Company was very helpful with reservations and any details. Love the simple phone check-out as that is the best.

Diamond Dunes is a great property. I traveled with my significant other, my sister & brother-in-law, and another couple. We had extra bedrooms only because we prefer to have our own bathrooms and its not easy to find smaller houses with private baths for each bedroom. The only real complaint we had was the hot tub. The service man was there when we checked in. Since I own a hot tub, I asked him if we could pull the filters out to rinse them. Well it appears that it's never been done! There must have been 10 pounds of sand in there. He did suction some sand out, but eventually the stirred up sand settled everywhere. There were strange things floating around and according to my test strips, the chemicals were so out of whack that my sister, my friend and I bailed the tub out, washed it and the filters and refilled it. We did know to turn off the breaker beforehand. Only then were we comfortable getting in.
Diamond Dunes is very well equipped and comfortable with an awesome ocean view.
A good value

The house was clean on arrival. Furnishings were more than adequate including kitchen utensils. Overall, a good value. There was some confusion over linens, but it was rectified in a very good manner.
Lots of rain but lots of fun!!!

The house was great for the seven adults and two very young children in our family. The many bathrooms, bedrooms, and tvs gave each of us enough private space. The living room is a little small for a large group, but most of the time we were not all in one area. The location was great for beach fun and shopping. It was a great house for a good price.

Wonderful views of the ocean.
Enjoyed all the decks and the hot tub.
Would have liked to see some better deck furniture, especially a few chaises, but all in all it was a great place.
Loved having Internet access.

This is a great house and was very well stocked. Been coming to OBX for 20+ years and this is one of the best houses as well as an amazing value.

This was the second year in a row we stayed at Diamond Dunes. We have already reserved it again for next year. The location is great & you can't beat the price. The kitchen is well stocked & we like having the extra refrigerator on the lower level.
Our Stay at Diamond Dunes

The inside steps are very narrow and very steep. The outside decking and railings need to be sanded (splinters) and nails hammered down. There was part of a broken plastic chair on the 2nd floor deck and the remainder on the ground below. It took 2 calls to get maintenance to come out and put some chlorine in the jacuzzi. There is no tea pot for heating up water. Other than these was a pretty good house.
bang for the buck

If this was my house I'd've layed it out a little better. You are always going up
and down stairs! Move in and move out are really tiring. Only one bedroom
faces the ocean and it is on the second floor so you can't see it and can't really
hear it. Same with the hot tub, It's on the middle deck.....no view. The house
has thin walls, you can hear everything, my 6 yr old, 40lb daughter sounded
like a heard of elephants when she walked. But on the bright side, it was a
great house with a great location and we would not hesitate staying there
again. I felt that the rental agency (Resort Reality) makes you do too much
cleaning before check out. Why do I need to make the bed? For $3000/week,
they should make it!

Very nice property. Clean, with everything working well. The small side street between the house & the beach road gives much extra privacy & quiet.
We will consider this house again next year.
Had a great week with our family

The house was great - just what we had hoped for. The kitchen had
everything we needed plus for doing cooking and dining. A garbage disposal
would have been nice so we didn't have to be so careful about food going
down the drain.
I liked your checkout where we could just phone you and leave the keys next
to the phone.
Just for your information to let the owners know: there was a leak in the door
frame at the top of the sliding glass door off the living room. We had two
really hard rains and noticed it during the second one. It wasn't a problem to
us but we felt they should know. It was above the door that slid not the
quiet and perfect

I wanted a house on the wide part of the beach and a hottube with a view. The house had plenty of room and a beautiful decor. We were able to cook a great christmass dinner and walk on the beach in a rare sunny day for the outer banks winter. Thanks for the use of Diamond Dunes..... A great value.
