This house worked out great with having multiple young children staying there. We were quite surprised at how the walk to the beach was much closer than any online map displayed, making it very convenient traveling back and forth between the beach and the house. The house was very clean. We enjoyed sitting out on the multiple decks and just listening to the ocean.

Average home in South Nags Head - South Creek acres
Left on 08/14/2013 for a stay in August 2013 | SC
We have stayed in several different homes along this strip at MP 19.5. The owners obviously made some recent, nice upgrades, in particular, the bathrooms. The location is great--about 300 yds to the beach--making it more affordable than the ones on the beach side of the road. Behind the home is beautiful and quiet wilderness.
This home is part of South Creek acres and includes access to a nice public pool. This is a great break from the beach.
We were disappointed with the cleanliness--probably more a product of the agency and their cleaning service, but it was below average from our experience in nearby homes in prior years. Sticky floors, sticky cabinets, stinky mats, etc. There were enough Cheerios under the kitchen table to fill a cereal bowl. Yum!
The kitchen was not stocked very well for cooks (not many pots, pans or special utensils), but it was adequate.
We love this part of Nags Head and will come back, but just not sure if it will be in this house.

Friendly rental staff. Nice, clean, and quite home. Very close to the beach. Able to check in at 2:00 PM without instead of after 4:00 PM without paying any extra fee. The tennis court is great. However, The public pool is small and dirty.

Ideal Location, Ideal Vacation

We rented High Five for a one-week beach vacation, along with another family. This house is spacious, comfortable, clean, and ideally located yards away from access to the beach at a point where life guards are posted. This house is also a short drive from grocery stores and other retail. The kitchen is well equipped, which was perfect for eating in, which we did for all but one meal. The bedrooms are small but comfortable, and there are several places for hanging out including multiple decks, a sunroom on the main level, and a den on the lower level. The washer/dryer and outside enclosed shower, hose and charcoal grill were also very useful. We will consider staying here again next year.

High Five was a great vacation rental. House was clean and well maintained. We loved the location in South Creek acres and the convenience of the beach access across the street. The community pool was a little far to walk there but we drove to it several times.
Good week at the Outer Banks

Nice house, nice location, good value and new owners seem to be doing a good job of fixing up the house, but it still needs a little more work such as bathroom upstairs and kitchen cabinets doors.
We had a great time

Had one problem at the begining of the trip with the dead bolt locked when we arrived at the house. However the person contacted for the key was very propmt. Overall the house was in great shape and well maintained. We were kept well informed about the beach nourishment program and were not suprised to see bulldozers on the beach. The next time we come down to OBX we will use Resort Reality to rent a cottage.

A Great First OBX Vacation Home!

This was our family's first vacation to the Outer Banks, and we couldn't have been happier with this home! It is not a fancy place, but we are not fancy people. The layout of the house was perfect, as my husband and I, along with our children "lived" in the downstairs, while my in-laws had their privacy in the upstairs bedroom and bathroom. The child gates were an added bonus for our 2 little ones. It has all of the house necessities to live comfortably. The location is awesome as it is directly across the street from a beach access road. It was a quick and easy walk to the beach each day. All in all, it was a great home for us for our first OBX trip!

High Five is a wonderful vacation home. Great location, great accomodations. We had a great time. We've been vacationing in the Outer Banks for over 20 years. Our check in with Resort Realty was the only problem we had the entire week. Will probably not rent with Resort Realty again because of the check in problems.

Only drawback to High Five was the main living area and kitchen on the thrid floor. A lot of steps for older folks. Otherwise very well equipped. Lots of room. Clean. We will stay here again.
Fabulous location and view

Our stay in High Five was absolutely great. The house was in line with the price in terms of decor and comfort level in the house. The furniture and house overall could use some updating etc but then it would just cost more. The fact that you can see the ocean from the top floor was a great trait. The house was closer to the beach than we expected and only have nature and wildlife in the backyard was incredible. You could not ask for a better location. My only complaints with the house were that the carpet could use a good cleaning. I did not have the same experience with Resort Realty though. Every time I spoke with someone on the phone in regards to my rental there was not a very high level of customer service. And at check-in, even though it was quick, the agent behind the desk was quite short even acting as if I were bothering her.
PEACEFUL AND RELAXING

I liked being away from the busy part of town. The layout of the house was great! We were not on top of each other. We had our privacy. I wish they had a tv or a bedside radio in the room on the top floor.
As for anything else...Some of the light fixture swiches are upside down so when we were leaving in the morning we had to keep running in the house flipping switches to get them all off. I wish the grass had been cut, they need a basketball net. A gas grill would have been nice too.
I would diffently return!!!
