Cleveland Heights, OhioAmazing oceanfront views - everywhere!
Left on 06/28/2012 for a stay in June 2012
This is a basic beach cottage with amazing ocean views from almost everywhere. There is an awesome wrap around deck as well as huge windows that look out onto the beach which is sooo close. A really nice wide beach.
Couple of downsides - needs more kitchen dishtowels and some basic spices. Bed in the non master queen room was very uncomfortable. It would be nice if there was a walkway to the beach - we had to go over the dunes to get there - I think that was a recent happening though. -

Herndon, VAEnjoyed the ocean views from the living area and master bedrooms
Left on 10/29/2010 for a stay in September 2010
Excellent ocean views! The house was clean and had a nice floor plan. We wished that the kitchen was better equipped, to include liquid measuring cups and microwave cookware, servingware, etc.. We were not pleased that owner maintenance was conducted during our stay. The beds in both master bedrooms were not very comfortable. There are a number of maintenance items that need attention: the inside doors from the garage are difficult to operate; the southside master bedroom window over the dresser leaks heavily when it rains, as does the garage at the oceanside door . Would probably stay there again except for the uncomfortable beds.

The home was very well maintained , spacious and comfortable. The location was awesome. It was wonderful being so close to the beach, especially with having children. The linen service was a plus.

Frederick, MDThe beach was beautiful!
Left on 06/30/2010 for a stay in June 2010
There were dirty dishes left in the dishwasher. There were dirty sheets left on the beds from the previous tenets. The front screen door was broke. The beds up stair's were hard and made alot of noise. No one could stay in the down stair's room because of the smell of mold was to strong. Resort Reality told me that there was a highchair and a Crib in the house. We searched everywhere to find them. There was no highchair and the crib was in the boiler room in pieces. We sent the first day cleaning up after the people who rented it before us. Otherwise that, after we cleaned everything up it was better. We paid for early check-in which when we arrived to check in there was a boat load of people checking in that did not pay for early checkin.

Left on 06/16/2010 for a stay in June 2010
We really enjoyed our week on the beach. The house has great access to the beach. We found that it was a central location for every tourist destination we viewed. The kitchen was well-stocked with kitchen utensils. The kids had a blast trying to best each other with the Monopoly game.
The problems we had were maintenance. We had several doors that wouldn't shut...the garage door needs work. The dishwasher worked when it wanted to (very frustrating with 6 people). I guess we could get picky and mention that some of the windows were dry rotted..and the roof looks like it needed to be replaced. The latter didn't bother us as much, but I think if I owned a house like this I'd take better care of it.
For a weeks stay tho, the kids learned how to boogie board and harass sand crabs. What more could you ask for? Oh, and what can you do with 2 gallon ziploc bags full of shells? Thanks for sharing your house, we enjoyed the sunrises and sunsets. -

Oak Park, IllinoisPerfect Home-Bad weather
Left on 10/21/2009 for a stay in October 2009
This was a friends and family get together and we
were stuck in the home most of the time because the
weather was gray and rainy. It turn out not to be
a problem. The open floor plan worked just fine.
The pictures online do not do the home justice. We
ate in every night and the kitchen was adequate,
however I did bring a few items to cook with
(knives and a grill pan) because I had no idea what
I would find at the house. this is just what we
were looking for...We wanted an older home with
character, on the ocean, that would accommodate
everyone. If anyone is looking for hotel type
amenities, this is not the place for you. There is
not a TV in every room, there is no jacuzzi tub,
what there is is a great home on the beach with a
nice deck and great space for you and your party.
I would recommend this home to anyone looking for a
good beach experience. -

Toronto Ontario CanadaGREAT OCEAN VIEWS!
Left on 09/24/2009 for a stay in August 2009
We had a great first week in Nags. The weather turned in the 2nd week.
We really enjoyed the cottage and the proximity to the beach. The deck layout was great with the outdoor eating area.
The inside of the cottage was nice and neat. The layout of the bedrooms was good. There were lots of kitchen ware for all and the appliances all worked well.
The tv and living area was nice and large with lots of room for everyone.
Areas of suggestion: replace the center window unit or dining window unit and put in a sliding door, much easier for beach access.
Bedroom in basement that you access by walking through garage needs to have it's own air unit, musty smelling down there. And or close off the garage door and make the garage another rec room so the doors can be open to the far bedroom in basement. Change beds to bunks and put in another queen or double.
Some of the mattresses need replacing.
All and all a great location, lots of wild life and beautiful views.
We've rebooked for next year already.
Thanks
The Fisher family. -

Fairfax, VirginiaThe perfect house!
Left on 08/26/2009 for a stay in August 2009
INSIDE:
The pictures did not give this house its justice. The kitchen was bigger than we thought; the living room and dining area were great; the furniture was comfortable; the rooms were big; and the bathrooms were sufficient as well. I love the fact that there was no carpet in the living and dining area. It made it much easier to clean.
OUTSIDE:
The best part of the entire house is the view! You can see the waves crashing on the beach while you eat at the dining room table! The deck was accompanied with benches and chairs that were in good working condition; perfect for watching the sun rise as you drink you morning coffee or for your evening cocktail as the sun goes down! There is walk way from the house to the beach which is about 15 feet providing you the best possible access to get to the ocean!
OVER ALL:
This house gave our family the room we needed. Our age range this year was 5 months old to 71 years of age and it provided the accommodations we ALL needed. My family has been going to Nags Head for the past 40+ years and the King was one of the best places we have stayed in so far. -

The location is outstanding. Resort Realty was very easy to deal with. Their service was great.
The bottom bedrooms of the house need to be cleaned and updated. The bedroom with the four single beds has green mold around the air vents and smells like mold. The bathroom was clean and updated. The other bedroom also had mold from the vents in the bathroom and needs to be updated. The upstairs master bedroom was clean . The new bathroom is beautiful . The other bathroom needs updating. It did not even have a toilet paper holder. The other bedroom was very clean, bright but the dresser was falling apart. The kitchen is small, new dishwasher was a plus.Floor needs to be replaced. The washer and dryer were very good. There is a lot of old broken wooden and beach chairs with mold on them in the garage. Outside decks are in good condition. The doors and windows all work and are in good condition. The outside furniture is in good condition. This house needs a good cleaning to remove the mold from downstairs. -

Carlisle, PennsylvaniaThe BEST visit ever!
Left on 07/18/2009 for a stay in June 2009
Our family has traveled to the Outer Banks from Pennsylvania for many years. We have stayed in Hotels, Condos and rented houses. Although many of those accommodations were lovely, the King was the BEST ever! It was very well equiped with kitchen supplies, play things and I loved the fact that we did not have to take our own lines (or pay extra for them). The view was remarkable! No problem with who got which bedroom because of the view! We ALL had the same fabulous view. And, because we do travel from the mountains of Pennsylvania, Ocean Front is the ONLY way to go!!! We come for the beach and we had beach 24/7. Having a grill on site was a real bonus! In the past we have had to rent a grill and decided we were not going to pay the extra for the few times we actually used it. It was great not having that added expense. We would absolutely want to stay at the King for future visits! Finally, Resort Realty staff was wonderful to deal with from reservations to check-in and the new check-out method was such a time saver! Thank You!

We have used the King three times over the years for family reunions. The layout of the house and the furnishings are just great. We really enjoy the location. My only concern is the width of the beach at South Nags Head.

pittsburgh pano bottom steps to beach
Left on 07/17/2009 for a stay in October 2007
I have no problem with the rental home King. I have stayed there twice. This past stay was marred by the absence of the bottom steps to the beach. After numerous calls to the rental agency we had no luck having the steps replaced. We were told the owners were handling it. We ended up using a 6 foot step ladder to access the beach for the whole week. I understand there had been a storm but we were the only beach home that did not get their steps replaced that week.
