The Richardson House was beautiful. We loved the locations as that stretch of beach is our favorite. The house was decorated beautifully and the rooms were great. We had requested an early arrival and that went very smoothly. Would definitely use Resort Realty again in the future. Loved the easy checkout!

I thought this was a beautiful and well kept property. I was glad that it suffered no damage during the storm. This is a gorgeous, well maintained rental whose owners obviously care deeply about their house. The master bathroom is spectacular and the appliances are first rate. The kitchen has excellent equipment and cookware. The decks provide a magnificent view. My only regret about the property was that someone booked the weeks we had this year for 2012 before we could. I was very disappointed.

It is a great location and house for vacationing! There are many, many good things to say about the Richardson. I would like to buy it if it ever goes up for sale!
However, if you are looking for improvment ideas, I would suggest the following in no particular order:
1. Updating some of the furnishings, couches, chairs, etc.
2. Repair the basketball hoop. It has been broken for like 5 years now. I almost went to True Value and got the itmes myself to repair it this year.
2. More frequent general painting on both interior and exterior would refresh the Richardson.
3. We always run out of hot water when the family showers. May want to look into an "on demand" point-of-use water heater to separate the master suite line from the rest of the house.
4. Our friends and family have always said a great addition on the exterior would be to extend a walkway (about 90 feet) from the lower deck out to the beach dune and add a sitting area at the dune. This would be just fabulous.
5. A large screen TV (say 42" to 50"), in the family room would be nice for evenings when we gather with family to watch movies. The exisitng TV is rather small and outdated tube type.
6. Water lines and electric service entrance lines are sagging under the parking spaces provided under the house. Looks like the clamps have deteriorated. -

This was our third time staying at the Richardson and, once again, it was terrific. The house is in wonderful shape and clearly reflects the care put into it by its owners. We love the location across from Jockey Ridge. Since there are no houses across the street from the house, we pretty much had the beach to ourselves. Also, the house is very close to a wide array of places to eat and shop. I'm sure we'll look to reserve this house the next time we come to the Outer Banks.

Positives: We loved the house. It was super close to the beach, grocery store, parks, and restaurants. The beach wasn't crowded. We only saw the neighbors on 'our' stretch of the beach. The dual outdoor showers were great since it allowed us to shower and get off the beach sooner. The floorplan worked very well for our extended family (Grandma & her two daughter's families. The open kitchen, large dining room table, and family room enabled everyone to sit together without feeling cramped.
Negatives: The house was a bit on the pricy side and there weren't enough sheets and towels for all the beds when we arrived. They dropped off additional sheets and towels the next day. -

I must say that the entire experience: dealings with Resort Realty and the stay at the house were very relaxing and enjoyable. I really appreciate the opportunity to enjoy the Richardson's home and hope to do so again next year. Thanks very much for the great service and availability of the property.
One very slight concern: Apparently the previous tenant had phoned in a concern about loose steps (from the deck to the beach). During our stay, a maintenance man arrived and began securing the steps. We would have appreciated an advance call that someone other than our family members would be visiting the premise. Or perhaps the maintenance man could have knocked on the door and announced his presence. One of our kids was startled by "a man coming up the beach steps with a hammer in his hand"!
Again, thanks for a great overall experience. -

Where to start? First off this home was beautifully built, decorated, and furnished. It had everything we needed, down to the last detail. Chairs were available, as well as a supply of toys. Flowers were in pots, which I watered as they look like they had missed some TLC from previous renters. The layout was great with Jack and Jill baths and the cozy, comfortable living, kitchen dining area. You can't go wrong! We really wanted to come on the 4th this year, but since a SAT to SAT, we stayed thru Sunday this year. We and our friends always look for this house first to see if it is available!!
