We loved renting Roebuck. We have rented Roebuck many times. Our family of four has travelled to outer banks for the past 20 years consecutively. Over this time frame, the smaller homes that previously were available for us to rent have been replaced by much larger, multi-family homes. For our family, it is great to have the "perfect" sized cottage available that is not a town house!!
The location is perfect for us...we can catch a nice view of the ocean water and walk to the beach in minutes...love the direct access.
Home was clean and well-maintained. We understand when we arrive that there is no dryer, however, that would be nice!!
Everything functioned well: ac!! great. dishwasher and kitchen appliances!! great. showers, water pressure: great.
Love this cabin...perfect for us.

We absolutely loved our stay in this vacation home. We had a very short walk to the beach (easy for younger kids), and loved being in South Nags Head. The location was nice because it wasn't too crowded, but at the same time we could drive north a few miles and have plenty of shopping and restaurants available. The house isn't super new or anything, but it's clean and cute and had plenty of room for our family of 5.

There were several "maintenance" issues, that although did not hinder our stay, were things that should have been taken care of as preventative maintenance. Such items were: the storm door was a complete mess and did not close properly, the outside of the windows were very dirty, the bathroom sink/cabinet was loose, the bathtub drain did not work (someone did come and bring bath stoppers, but they did not work well), the kitchen cabinets smelled musty, the washing machine (which had just been fixed-and a part had been ordered) looked like it just needed to be replaced instead of fixed, the railing outside the front door was loose and could cause an accident if someone put enough force on it, and the outside shower leaked. Other than, Resort Realty was a good company to rent from and we had no problems with check in or check out, or payment and reservations. The house is also the perfect size for a family of 3-5 and is situated very nicely with only 1 close neighbor and lots of trees and privacy around it-that is why we selected it.

We have stayed in this house many years, and love the location. This year we saw several bugs in the kitchen and bathroom and that is new for this home. We also saw several cigarette butts all around the bottom of the cottage, near the shower and driveway and steps. This too was new.
Next door there were at least 10-12 young adults?married? but they really enjoyed smoking pot in the hot tub on the back porch late in the evening into the early mornings. This was really disturbing to our family, as we have 2 kids under 13.
Beach was just the same, and beautiful. So it wasn't all a wash.
We cooked more in the house this year and the stove is not level and the cookwear is quite minimal in the house. -

The house was very comfortable. It was secluded yet very close to the beach. You can see the water from the deck. It was clean and neat and had a lot of the items necessary to make the stay pleasant. Only negative comments: a toilet that did not want to shut off even after following the directions that where on a note on the tank lid, a dryer in addition to the washing machine that was there, a clock radio so you can wake up in time to vacate the premises by the check out time, a stopper for the tub so bath can be taken and lamps that are not falling apart (paper shade loose from rim) or not quite put together correctly (socket on table lamp that was not seated in the top of the base)

When looking for a reasonably priced beach vacation I
want to recommend this facility. The cost was at the
low end of all of the properties available in the
Nags Head area. Yet we were very close to the beach,
less than a five minute walk. The house is situated
at the southern end of Nags Head, away from the
highly commercialized area. The property was clean,
well-equipped and functional. It is not a high end
luxurious home -- it is a great house for a family
that wants to spend money on recreation as opposed to
housing. -

We got into Nags head very late at night and it was really hard to find the house, nut after looking for an hour we did find it. Our first day the air conditioning went out and we had to wait for it to get fixed. The house was nice but really needed some updating and was not very clean, we bought our 2 year old granddaughter with us and I spent the first day cleaning the house. Over all we fell in love with Nags Head so much so we bought a place while we where there so we will be back but we will not be staying at the Roebuck.
