This house was great in its location right on the ocean with a pool. This is the second time we have rented from Resort Realty and have been very pleased with their policies for resort properties (early access, beds made up). They are extremely responsive if we call about anything. The house itself was very comfortable with plenty of room and was very clean. We vacationed in later September due to work commitments and the weather was perfect (a little chilly on some days in the pool but we anticipated that). Two doors down, the tenants were pretty noisy and I imagine it could be even noisier in the summer when the Dolphin Inn next door and the Comfort Inn a couple doors up are full. It's very close to Jennette's Pier so there were surfing events going on nearby both weekends. It's also close to shopping and restaurants we like (e.g., Owens and The Dunes). I've been coming to the Outer Banks for almost 30 yeårs and this was one of the most relaxing weeks yet. Because of the stairs going to the upper level where the family room/kitchen is, this would not be a good property for those with bad knees or other mobility issues.

Loved the cottage, but you could tell it was the end of the season and things were in disarray! Such as missing towel bar in the ground floor bathroom, kitchen items that were less than I usually see. The dryer died and was promptly replaced. Furniture had been removed for repair before we came and was being delivered during our stay.
Speaking of the ground level bathroom, the door lock is on the outside...one cannot lock themselves in the bathroom!Response from Resort Realty Outer Banks - 11/20/2012

What I liked best was that I could always see the ocean, even if I wasn't on the beach. There's no dune to block the view. The house was very nice, with everything we needed. Any issues we had with something not working were quickly addressed. The house is close to 2 hotels, so I worried that noise or crowds would be an issue, but that wasn't the case. We had a nice quiet vacation.

The house was still being cleaned when we arrived. As the emails mentioned, the kitchen and refridgerator were cleaned for use, and there was a representative who reviewed the house contents. The caretaker reviewed the lock mechanism and how each bed was made up and asked if we had any questions prior to leaving us. We thought overall the service was good. The home overall was average. The carpets were dirty and the furniture was very used. We did not do an arial view of the home, and if we had, we would not have rented it based on the location by the comfort inn and smaller hotel to the north. The Comfort inn blocked the afternoon sun from the pool area. At night the lights from the hotel were on and it just had a different feel than looking out over the ocean from a less comercial area. The location to the pier and shopping was great. We loved the beach this year with the improvements that were made! We loved the view of the ocean from the house. The proximity of the house to the hotel was what we liked least. We will not rent this same house again.

The house was very comfortable and roomy. The kitchen was the best equipped we have ever stayed in. Whenever there were problems with the house, the response was quick and efficient. Everyone I dealt with via phone or in person was very friendly. The only major problem was bugs on the ground floor, I believe because of the dampness, and nobody would sleep down there, but the exterminator was there promptly, and kudos to the pool guy, he even came out on Memorial Day, interupting his family outing!!!

We liked the house except that it needed some work. I left a list of flaws, but I'll try to remember some of them.
1-pool table rail broken
2-cable box inoperative(I think the problem was that the TV base was sitting on the vent holes and the box got fried.)
3-ceiling fans were filthy
4-all the light bubs were so dim as to make it hard to see
5-several screens were torn or missing
We will stay there if we go back to OBX. -

Nice place,although, needs to be cleaned better. There was thick layers of dust on ceiling fans and woodwork around the house.Things need repaired such as tv's, screens in sliding doors,etc. it should be stated in contract that propane is guests responsibility.

this was our first time to the Nags Head area. We really enjoyed ourselves. We liked the set up of the house (the way the rooms were layed out on all levels. I wish there was an additional bathroom on the lower level. We had about 7 people sharing one bathroom on that level.
I must say that the service Resort Realty gave was incredible. The cable went out one day, you were out within hours. You promised a new baby gate and tv (for one of the bedrooms) and there were there the day after our check-in. The check-in/out was the easiest i have ever experienced!!!
The only thing i wasn't too thrilled about (initially) was that we were sandwiched between a motel and a hotel. But honestly after the initial shock of that, it didn't phase us, as people didn't invade 'our' beach space and it wasn't crowded like i originally thought it might be. -

We really enjoyed our stay at Sails I in July 2009; the house is very well designed nicely furnished to accomodate large groups. The house is close enough to stores that you could walk if you chose to, but it wasn't noisy at night--even with the motel next door. The only problem we had was finding the house the first night because the house number is not visible enough at night. GREAT PLACE--I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HOUSE!!

The home was perfect for our group of 15 (10
adults, 2 babies and a 5, 7 and 9 year old.) Each
family had their own bedrooms and bathrooms. The
great room was perfect for relaxing and evening
game time with the kids.
When we arrived the house was in process of being
cleaned and readied. I checked the grill as we
were planning on cooking out a few times. The
grill had a few broken parts which I pointed out to
the caretaker who hadn't gotten down to clean it
yet. He looked at it and said it had seen its day
and immediately ordered a replacement and we
operated the week from a brand new gas grill.
Great service.
Our entire group spent more of their time in the
pool than on the beach but all enjoyed both. The
pool was perfect as it was private, clean and
secluded. The many lounge chairs were perfect for
sunning and napping.
Location was excellent for the grocery stores with
one being 4-5 minutes away and another was about 10
minutes. Restaurants were within walking distance
or a few minutes drive. We didn't mini golf but
could have with a 5 minute drive.
Closeness to Kitty hawk and other sites was an
asset.
I would return (and hope to if we can get all
together again) in a heartbeat. What a great
vacation which was enhanced by the facility we had
selected. -

WE RENTED THE HOUSE FOR THE WEEK WHILE WE WERE IN TOWN FOR OR WEDDING AT MALLARDS MARSH. THE HOUSE HAD EXCELLENT VIEWS, IT WAS CLEAN WHEN WE CHECKED IN, IT HAD A HOT TUB WHICH WAS USED A LOT!!! AND A POOL WHICH CAME IN HANDY CAUSE THE OCEAN WAS KIND OF STILL COLD.
OVERALL I AM HAPPY WITH THE SERVICE I RECEIVED AND I WOULD DEF USE RESORT REALTY NEXT TIME I NEED TO RENT A BEACH HOUSE. -

Working with Resort Realty was great. If we needed anything they were right there. And about the House from a 1 to a 10 I would give it a 10. I would like to thank Resort Realty for a great time and the service was outstanding.
The thing I liked best was the house and the customer service I got.
The thing I least liked was the weather but we can,t do anything about that.

We had a great experience renting this house from Resort Realty. They were
easy to work with. The one thing that got us was we didn't realize was that the
linens were in a duffel in the hallway and called in a panic because we didn't
think they were there. One call straightened that out. Also, the directions were
a bit convoluted. It is actually easier to get to than the directions say. The
house was in a good location, a little out of the way of heavy traffic but close
enough to get to everything in no time. There was lots of space in the house
and the kitchen was well-equipped. We really enjoyed the openness of the
family/dining/kitchen area. Since we had 5 couples it was a great gathering
place. Views were very nice and we enjoyed watching the dolphins play
offshore so bring binoculars. We didn't get to use the pool because we were
there in April and it was still too cold. Hot tub was nice, though.
