Keyer Family
Alcove, NYThe best rental experience we have ever had in the Outer Banks!
Left on 04/18/2013 for a stay in April 2013
We have stayed in Nags Head several times in the past and used another rental company in the past and our experiences were filled with houses that did not live up to their descriptions. Resort Realty was friendly, helpful and efficient. Sandpiper was exactly as described and the owners go above and beyond in supplying extra amenities like, boogey boards, beach chairs, bikes and pool toys. It was great to have a gas grill instead of a park grill. The home was perfectly laid out for our family group consisting of adults and teenagers. Sandpiper is conveniently located lose to everything, shopping, dinning and the pier. I would recommend Resort Realty and the Sandpiper to anyone looking for a "home away from home" vacation on the Outer Banks,it was truly the best OBX experience we have ever had and we will use them again.
Thank you for an amazing trip and wonderful memories,
The Keyer family

Telford, PAThis was a fabulous house and location!!!
Left on 04/04/2013 for a stay in May 2012
We stayed at the house during May. While the Ocean was too cold to venture in, the heated pool was fabulous! My daughter loved it - especially on cool days when the steam rose from the water. We walked on the beach every day, collecting seashells and watching the dolphins. Having direct access to the beach was a dream. The house was beautifully decorated and well supplied. The location was close to shopping, restaurants and lots of activities. I have only two negatives to report - the first was the hot tub was leaking but they already knew about it and were replacing it in the next week or two after our visit. The second was the beach chairs, etc could have been in a little better condition. However, to be fair, it was pre-season so maybe that just hadn't been handled yet.
In any event, I would love to spend another week (or many) in this home. -

Love the kitchen with double dishwashers, stoves, dishes, pots and pans, and also double long dining tables. The house is well thought out for comfort and value...everyone had a great time and the realty staff are so helpful. You have to stay here--but not when we are!

Left on 07/26/2012 for a stay in July 2012
what an amazing week we had with family. We had family members from NY, Ga & FL gathered together for a week. I traveled with my family from San Diego where the beaches are plentiful; but this was incredible. We felt like millionaires living there. We never felt crowded there was plenty of space for everyone. Having our own pool also was a major hit for the kids. We're looking forward to vacationing here again.

The house was excellenant. Nice layout and an overstocked kitchen of pots, pans and dishes and anything you need for a large group. The 2 Dishwashers was definatley a plus.
Resort Realty was very prompt on a few minor problems we had with pool hetaer start up.
Would recommentd a child gate on top floor steps and top florr deck.
Definately would come back and would use Resort Realty for their excellant service.
It was our 35th aniversary and we loved it.

Left on 08/31/2011 for a stay in August 2011
This cottage accomodated all of us nicely. Nice kitchen, great accommodations...missing the advertised kiddie pool...but the rental co brought one. Loved the early check in, and that was a real bonus when we were told to evacuate on Thursday of our stay. Hope the beach restoration didn't get washed away. I'll definitely look at Resort for next summer...especially the early check in and the military discount.

Left on 08/29/2011 for a stay in August 2011
The only issue we had was the gas grill. Not only was the grill in deplorable condition there was no gas in the tank. I went to the management office and requested a new tank only to be told it will cost me $25. Money was no the issue, having to pay for gas that will be used by others the rest of the summer, was. I refused to pay on principle and after a light conversation about the logic of this, the young lady behind the counter gave us a tank of gas. Additionally, when we went to use the grill that evening, the grill would not burn correctly or stay burning. We used our neighbor's grill to save what looked like a catastrophe. A new grill was delivered the next day. Bottom line - this should have been an inspection item by your maintenance folks and why would you dream of charging for propane gas when folks are spending $10,000 for a week of stress free relaxation?

Pittsburgh, PaGreat House, Great Location, Great Value, Great vacation
Left on 06/29/2011 for a stay in June 2011
Our family came down to the outer banks for one week in June. The house was perfect for our extended family. The cleaning crew was working when we arrived and took the time to let us know what was completed and where we could put our baggage. They were professional and curteous with everyone.
Everybody loves this house.(We stayed here before, in 2009, and would have no problem returning if enough of the family is coming back)
This is our favorite location along the outer banks. There is generally only one or two houses on the beach side of the road and one or two on the other side of Old Oregon Inlet Rd. This keeps the number of people down compared to the Kitty Hawk / Kill Devil Hills areas, and there is always plenty of room on the beach.
The house was generally in great condition, with only a couple of minor problems. The railing leading into the pool was a little loose, and some of the nails on the walkway to the beach stuck up due to the movement of the planks. It would also be nice to have a lower spigot, at the pool entrance from the beach. When you only need to wash off your feet, the shower set up is a little hard to use.
All of these minor problems are just that, minor. We loved the house, had a great week of vacation, and hopefully will be back again.
Thank you for everything. -

The advance check in at noon was absolutely great! We get to add a whole day to our vacation by getting there early. Also, having our beds made when we got there was great as well. The house was very clean and very well equipped. We loved staying there.

Sandpiper was a place to withdraw from the hustle and bustle of life. We enjoyed being so near the ocean, and being able to sit out on the back deck, and watch the sunrise reminding us that God is in control! It was a comfortable stay. The pool was warm and welcoming, the hot tub had some issues, but the response to address that problem, was good. Our only stress was our "extended" family...so we'd like to try to take our next vacation without them! (haha) The owners of this property are considerate and generous people, and we felt welcomed and blessed.

Great home! Very comfortable. Well equipped kitchen. The hot tub is a little quirky...the breaker kept shutting it down :( Pool was great! Amazing views! Check in and check out was perfect!!! Only two homes up from the public beach access...could get crowded in the "on" season.

Flemington, NJIncredible opportunity to spend time with friends and family
Left on 08/13/2010 for a stay in July 2010
We wanted to have a family vacation with our 18, 15 and 10 year old kids that included their friends and cousins and this housed served the purpose exactly. The large deck midway between the beach and house became a meeting place after dark to sing along to the guitar, laugh, and talk about the day. The pool was great, especially on the 3 days where the ocean was freezing after the storm. Plenty of room in large kitchen area for everyone---lots of dishes, great sound system, movies, books, every game imaginable, every kitchen tool you could need. Best house we have ever stayed in. Hot Tub got lots of use by everyone. 2 dishwashers and 2 ovens---great. Will go back.

Bel Air, MarylandDoes it get any better than this?
Left on 08/05/2010 for a stay in July 2010
Noon time check in was a huge plus, not only economically but it was like getting another full day on the beach. The caretaker was very pleasant and accomodating. We enjoyed the home...lots of space for everyone. The layout is very similar to other homes we have rented. Great location for stores, fishing, etc. unfortunately the beach has suffered a lot of erosion in that area causing the area to be more crowded. The only donwside would be the pet odor. Someone did spray for flees, but urine smell was apparent. The pool and hot tub are a huge plus as well!

Left on 06/30/2010 for a stay in June 2010
We had a great week! The only issues were that upon check-in there was no packet with keys for us. Apparently, they were inside the house. No one notified us of this. It caused quite a delay in getting started with our vacation. The other issue was that the gas grill canister was completely empty. Of course, this was discovered right at dinner time with many hungry children. Otherwise, it was fantastic. One other issue...it's confusiong for you to have 2 properties named "Sandpiper". Some family mistakenly went to the Corrola property.

Left on 06/16/2010 for a stay in May 2010
reservation person was very friendly. Club member check in is excellent. House was quite clean. Down stair [basement] is old. Dvd player in some room would be a plus. More than well adequate dinning utensils. Ice maker is a plus. A house manual of lists of trouble shooter would be good. The hot tub went dead and we have to wait for service person the next day when all we have to do is to turn the circuit breaker in the electrical room on. Anyhow we still like your house.

Left on 05/20/2010 for a stay in May 2010
Had a wonderful time! Weather was a little chilly, but I didn't mind. Property was clean, roomy, and had everything we needed. We called the first night about a broken step and nails on the boardwalk (left a message) and bright and early the next morning, it was being repaired!! I was amazed and delighted! the only thing I might look for next time is a property with an elevator, but I did love the Sandpiper! And I'm seriously thinking about putting in 2 stoves and 2 dishwashers in my kitchen. what luxury!! Thanks again for a lovely time and very professional handling of everything from reservations to repairs.

Outstanding visit. House was in excellent shape and very clean. One of the nicest equiped kitchens we've had on Outer Banks House rental. Good layout for a number of families. Only thing missing was bedspread in master bedroom - but beds were made and very comfortable. Excellent location to nice resturants. Pool was well heated ana maintained during the week.
Would definitely stay there agaian. We have a Bed and Breakfast on our farm and would recommend the Sandpiper to any guests interested! -
