This beautifully decorated and well maintained home, with great ocean views, promises to make many fond memories! This house has all the bells and whistles and then some! Very nice house, big enough for our big group! Wish we had known about the construction going on next door. Shouldn't that be disclosed prior to booking? It was hard to get babies to nap with the sawing/drilling etc going on.

We've never been to the OBX before - what a wonderful vacation we had! The kids said it (and the house) were better than Disney, so that's saying something. The house was amazing - we had 3 families (13 ppl total), and everyone had their own space. We had to call maintenance for only 1 thing (a defective smoke alarm that kept going off). They sent someone out within an hour to fix it. We will definitely be going back, and we'll definitely rent from Resort Realty again!

The house did not seem to be as clean as it was the year before. The deck needs some maintenance also. We have rented this same house for two years and it is a great house for a large group. We love the location.

Very nice house. Laid out like most in Nags Head but kitchen is more well-stocked than most. Only disappointment was that the 2 dishwashers hardly clean the dishes (1 actually has missing sprayer arm!) Also dryer needs 2 cycles to dry a load. These issues made dreaded household chores take so much longer than we wanted them to while on vacation!

This rental has the usual amenities as listed but all 12 family members agreed that the Southern Comfort I needs some work especially on the exterior--painting front door/whole house, landscape maintenance (remove dead tree), repairs to walkway to beach, cleaner or new outdoor seating, new showerhead on outdoor shower. This is especially obvious because the same style house next door is updated with bright siding, white railings, fencing, and colorful outdoor furniture. Its rental price was about the same as our rental. Inside the Southern Comfort I , the dishwashers are in need of replacement (one melted down during our stay--thank God there was a second--but that's about ready to melt down, too.) tv was not easy to operate, wireless internet went in and out, hot tub didn't heat up well, ceiling leaked onto pool table, dryer was slow, exhaust in bathroom was very noisy. But worst of all, the house needs a new broom and dust pan!!!
In spite of it all, our family had a wonderful week together and really enjoyed the location and its oceanfront access to the beach.
Initially, we thought that because Southern Comfort I was booked the whole season that we had made the right choice. But perhaps all of those renters were first time renters because we doubt that many would come back unless some major maintenance is undertaken.
With the availability of others at similar prices, we would not return to this rental.
Resort Realty was great to do business with--especially the guest web services--emails were promptly answered. The Resort Rewards was a nice bonus as was the early check-in and resort linen and towel service. We would most likely try another rental property with Resort Realty in the future!!!

This is our second vacation in Nags Head area. We had a fantastic time. The weather was great, the beach was great and the home provided us with a great place to relax and have fun. Having a place right on the beach is the only way we would go. The house large enough that every had their own space when needed and the house was equiped with everything you would need, inlcuding a great assortment of pool and beach toys/equipment. We enjoyed the large pool and hot tub. Pool, Hot tub and a short walk over the sand dune to the beach is the only way to go!
Suggestions for improvement: I do feel that the cost was a little high considering the obvious signs of wear and tear on the house. 4 years ago, we stayed in a brand new home with almost the same layout that was not available this year. It was listed for $1000 less than Southern Comfort 1 and I know that Southern Comfort 1 is older than 4 years. A couple of suggestions that would not cost the owner much but would definitely upgrade the quality of the stay. 1) Replace the extremely small televisions in the bedrooms with larger flatscreens. The current TVs are too small to see from the beds, making them worthless from a renter's perspective. The TVs in the living and recreation rooms were great. 2) Install a garbage disposal in the kitchen. This is the firat place in years I have stayed that didn't have one. 3) The carpet in the upper 2 floors should be replaced in the next couple of years. It shows a lot of signs of wear.
We would definitely go back to the house again.

Southern Comfort I was a great house. The amenities were appropriate for the size of the house. It is starting to show wear - cracks in ceilings, what appears to be water stains on ceiling. Netflix did not work the week we were there.

My family and I have rented many houses in OBX before. We have never rented the same one twice...until now. We loved Resort Realty. Check-in was easy and early in the day. Check out was a phone call. The house location was the best. We had the beach to ourselves. The house was perfect. Every cooking utensil known to man. Two ovens and two dishwashers...loved it. It has two big screen TVs with the best picture quality I have ever seen (we are still trying to figure it out!!). The amentities rocked. Seven families agreed that this will be "our beach house" for years to come. Thanks for such a great vacation!! (And a big thanks for the military discount too. What a blessing!)

First time at Outer Banks and enjoyed by all. The home was perfect from the amenities to the pool, hot tub, ocean. We were there for our daughter's wedding and having such a large home was a big plus with guests, family, etc. The kitchen was fantastic for all my gourmet cooking family.

We really love the house. My family and I have been vacationing in the outer banks for the past 10 years. This August will be our secon year in the house. The location and layout are perfect for us. The only problem we've encountered is with the rental companies policy on booking the house for the next year. Evey other company has given us five days after our vacation to decide whether we want to rebook. Resort Realty does not accomadate. Last year we were in the house a week earlier. This year we are going the third week in August and it looks like the house is already booked in 2010 for the same week. We cannot understand why company policy would not give repeat rental first preference.
