Fall Vacation at he Outer Banks
Johnson City, TennesseeFall Vacation at the Outer Banks
Left on 04/04/2013 for a stay in September 2012
After coming for 1 week for a number of years, we decided to make it 2 weeks in 2012. To say it was twice as good would be an understatement. The oceanfront home provides us with all the amenities and the location that we love. Sunrises and sunsets are beyond beautiful and the beach provides you with all the ocean activities that you could want. The people at Resort Realty are first rate and they go out of their way to insure that your vacation stay is perfect. We plan on being back in 2013.

We loved the house and its location. My only suggestion would be that the door locks (internal and living room to deck) be fixed, someone check to see why the dryer takes so long to dry and the dishwasher seems to run forever. The living room to deck door could not be locked without someone pushing the top of the door from the outside while another person turned the lock on the inside. Most of the internal door locks did not work . . . this is an issue on bathroom and bedroom doors. It would also be nice to have screens for the doors and windows.
We loved the layout of the house, the large dining room and the hardwood floors. The decks were wonderful and spacious and the view from the second floor balcony was great!Response from Resort Realty Outer Banks - 11/19/2012
Manager
Thank you for taking time submit a review for this property. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and gave it a 5 star rating. The issues you have pointed out have been forwarded to the owner for consideration. The salt air wreaks havoc on locks and is a constant maintenance need for our properties. Additionally, we have learned that screens are often a challenge with the wind. Some owners have determined that it is better not to install. We hope to see you back here on the Outer Banks next year.

Media,. PAGreat location, great layout, needs work
Left on 08/08/2012 for a stay in July 2012
This was our second two-week stay at the Carolina. It is a great location, perfect beach, great floorplan. However, the house is in need of maintenance: many light fixtures don't work (not just burned out bulbs), leaky shower, the living room TV is an antiquated tube model with a screen far too small for the space, the vacuum cleaner barely works. Etc. With better upkeep, this would be one of the best properties in our 33 years of Nags Head/ South Nags Head vacations.

Charlottesville, VABeautiful View!
Left on 10/13/2011 for a stay in October 2011
Beautiful home. You can tell there was no expense spared when this home was built. Gorgeous woodwork and decor details from countertops, to cabinetry, to tile floors, to faucets, to light fixtures, etc., etc. Felt like a captain's quarters on an old time ship! Love the hard wood floors and french doors. The only negative was the bathroom to bedroom ratio and only stand-up shower in one bathroom (not full bath) - something to consider depending on your combination of guests. The private walk to the beach and ocean view from the upstairs deck were fabulous. Furniture, window treatments and art work were very upper scale. Would love to stay at the Carolina again!

Left on 10/05/2011 for a stay in September 2011
Having stayed at The Carolina before during peak season, it was great to be able to take advantage of the great off-season rate for this beautiful home! We appreciate the well-appointed kitchen since we eat-in most of the time. We enjoy this area of the Outer Banks the most. We noticed that the beach was so much deeper this time - that was a plus. Even though there was an issue with the air conditioner on the first floor, the service was exceptional. Thanks for fixing it - it made the nights more comfortable for the little ones. We left a little list of some small concerns that the owner or realty company may want to address soon, not because we were dissatisfied, but because we would want to know these things if it was our house. Thanks again. We'll be back!

Response from Resort Realty Outer Banks - 04/30/2012
Manager
We are sorry to hear that you did not have a nice vacation. Our rental manager believes that you left early due to the beach nourishment project in Nags Head. It was unfortunate that the project timeline kept changing dramatically (due to weather, equipment breaking, etc), and we could not offer guests specific times or places that the construction would be taking place. Most guests found that the construction only affected a day of their stay and were thrilled with the large beach left behind for them to enjoy. Unfortunately, at times the construction did last longer in front in some places, and a few guests were disappointed about the quality of their stay. Now the beaches in Nags Head are wonderfully wide and provide the perfect spot for families to enjoy the Atlantic Ocean!
We hope you will return to the Outer Banks and give us an opportunity to assist you in your vacation needs. -

Milwaukee, WIAwesome house, awesome location.
Left on 08/18/2010 for a stay in August 2010
The house was great. It was up-to-date, everything worked (never needed to call maintenance), was large enough to accommodate our group without feeling cramped, and the location was perfect, as the beaches weren't too crowded.

We have been going to Nags Head as a family for the past 57 years. My Mom and Dad started the tradition and were one of the first to stay in the Carolina when it was first built and now family members (usually 45-50 of us) come from all over the US to spend a week or two in Nags Head. We get 4-5 houses, but our favorite is the Carolina - there are lots of happy memories there.

THis house is great! We have stayed here three times. Recently rented a
different house, which was a nightmare. Thanks to resort realty for not
representing the house as it was. From now on, we will stay here, or go with
another rental company!
