Great oceanfront cottage. Watched the full moon rise the first evening. Had a few really windy days, but most days were in the high 60's, and low 70's. Didn't get heated pool, being from Florida, we found the weather too cold to get in the pool. The carpet in the house is worn out, some of the sliding screen doors did not stay in their slides, and would fall out when we tried to close them, that's about it. We all enjoyed the cottage.
Best fweek at the Outer Banks in many years.

The Fritz Carlton has a great location in Nags Head. The view is great of the ocean. The heated pool makes for nighttime swimming. The house needs some upgrades like new beds and the kitchen needs new cookware. The house in general works well for the group of us. We be returning there next year.

First of all, we loved the house!!! But... there were a few minor problems with the house. Things like a damaged sliding screen door are par for the course for most rental homes, especially at the end of the season. But cleanliness is not something that should be an issue. For the price of this rental, one would expect (and should expect) a clean house upon arrival. This was not the case with this house. The toilets were disgusting and ever shower curtain had mold growing on it. However, Resort Reality quickly send a maid to the house to correct these issues. Other than the bathrooms, the house was fairly clean. The pool and hot tub were clean and were thoroughly enjoyed all week. I dont know if there is an ordinance or something prohibiting gas grills, but the small park-like grill is not sufficient for a house this size. Also, a second refrigerator (other than the mini-fridge on the bottom leavel) would go a long way for a house this size. We had to run to get ice every day to keep drinks cold in a cooler out on the deck. An early check-in option would be great as well, we didnt get into the house until 5 or so, and the cleaning service was still there when we arrived. But, I like said, we did love the house. The location is everything. To be able to walk right out on to the beach, and the view from the deck, made this house worth every cent of the rental fee. We are planning on returning next summer. Roof leaked in kitchen, not enough fridge space for the accomodation size, bedding very uncomfortable, hot tub in a poor location and not clean, park grill rusted and falling apart, dune deck railing falling off. If it wasn't for the decent pool and being oceanfront, would have rated this house poor. Read more

This is a great house, the pool is bigger than most rentals. We love the fact that every bedroom has it's own bathroom. We rent2 weeks in July every year. The only issue that we ever have is there are not enough utinsels, no sharp knives, crock pot, large bowls, and dishes. We have to bring it or buy it. Other than that, everything else is great, the owner is fantastic and responsive when anything is needed! I would highly recommend this house and the ownwer !

okay, but needs updated

This house is in a great location. It needs updated and some extra items in the kitchen cupboards. Old Tv's in the bedrooms that are hanging over the edge of the dressers. These are dangerous for anyone but small kids can grab and puul them down on themselves. The bathrooms only have 1 towel bar in them, no drawers either. The description says it is an event house, there is no room for an event let alone kitchen supplies. 7 seats in the family room, 8 chairs in the dinning room, 20 cubic refridgerator is not enough to hold food for a 7 bedroom house.

Great View of Ocean
Left on 08/02/2012 for a stay in July 2012 | jennifer
Over all the place was nice. The kitchen was very well stocked which is always a great help when cooking in. The pool was very nice! (although we felt it needed a little more chlorine, water was not as clear as it should be but still nice) the bathrooms were a little small but it was nice that each bedroom had its own bathroom. The view out of the "common area" was tremendous...loved being able to look out to the ocean at any given minute.
The beach wasn't too crowded which was great...not many shells though and for some reason the ocean was very very chilly for July. Overall a good experience.
A great house for our stay at the beach!

This house fit out needs perfectly for this year. Perfect location easy access to the beach. Pool was nice and big. I think the appliances and dishes in the house need to be upgraded a bit. Otherwise we really enjoyed our stay. Next year we need a bigger house!!!
Had a great time,.

I have been a visitor to the OBX 6 times my very first time I was hooked and plan on coming each summer. However this was my first less then great experience. The house is a greta house however comparatively speaking it is way behind any of the other houses I have stayed in.
The house says it has accommodations for 14 ... but the living room has seating for only 8 unless you want to sit on the floor or dining room chairs?
Tv's - were small, and of the older style
Entertainment - this is the first house I stayed in that didnt have any sort of way to play music outside whether it be by the pool or while just relaxing on the deck
Furniture - well the dining room chairs were flimsy and one broke while someone was sitting in it, beds everyone had a complaint about the beds
Refrigerator - too small for the house and no ice maker?
Decking - is worn and steps from mid level to top level are bowing and feel like they make break
The house has some positives, the pool was excellent and maintained well, the hot tub was as well. The pool table is great, the kitchen is stocked well with everything you may need to prepare meals, lots of counter space and stove works well Read more

Thank you for your response on Flip Key. We are very sorry you had some concerns and thank you for bringing them to our attention!
We pride ourselves in assuring homes are in proper working order and fit our guests needs. Since your visit we have notified the owner of your concern on seating, music outside and lack of ice (no ice maker). We have also placed a work order to have the decking looked at and boards replaced that need it.
Again, thank you for booking your vacation with Resort Realty and we hope to see you again next year!

Our family stayed at the Fritz Carlton during Spring Break. The house was OUTSTANDING!!!! Even better than the pictures in the Resort Realty catalog. Pool, hot tub, beach, fantastic views, and our favorite spot was the sitting area atop the dune separating the pool area from the beach. Can't wait to reserve the house for future vacations.

The house was the best we have rented in years, the one thing we found the kitchen needs more large pots and pans. With a large group there were no large pots. The pool was heated when we arrived and was warm. The house has been well taken care of. We will rent it again in 2010.
Love the location we were able to walk to alot of the small shops, it's close to the Food Lion.
We just loved the house.
Relaxing by the beach.

The rental office crew were great and always friendly. We liked the home overall. I think the only thing that was a drawback was the fact that the hot tub was hidden in the corner behind the pool. It would be nice to be up a level to enjoy the views. The location is great, close to restaurants, shopping and activities. I would recommend this house.

We stayed in the Fritz Carlton 8/8/09-8/15/09 and had a great time. House had everything we needed and was well maintained. The only problem we had were the spiders on the bottom floor. I guess they get in under the door by the jacuzzi but they were only seen on the bottom floor. I don't know if an exterminator would help but it might be worth a try. One of the women got bit on her leg and had a bad reaction but it was better in a couple of days. Other than that we lucked out with the weather and everyone had a great time!
Not exactly what we wanted..

There is a group of us that have come to Nags Head every year for the last 10 years. We found a house that we loved but wanted to try new ones. From the website, this one seemed perfect for us. I did enjoy the house but there were a few things that were some of the main reasons we chose it, that will stop us from using it again. The pingpong table was horrible. One side was higher than the other. The website stated it had a foosball table, which it didnt. The pool was terrible. Although it was cleaned the first day, the filtration system didn't work properly so the next day, the water seemed stagnant. Lastly, the furniture in the living room area was uncomfortable. This is where most people hang out. Now the location of the house is great! Step outside and you are on the beach, which I LOVED! The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, etc. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very nice. The house was clean and well decorated. If it wasn't for the stuff that we chose the house for, being not up to par, we would have definitely picked this house again!
