Ocean Escape is located in Old Nags Head Place, one of the newest and most upscale subdivisions in Nags Head.

Situated on a premier corner lot, this beautiful home is directly across the street from the landscaped, concrete path to the beach access. The beach is only a block away! This 5-bedroom, 5 and 2 half-bath home boasts OCEAN VIEWS. Ocean Escape is loaded with amenities including PRIVATE POOL (22x10), HOT TUB recreation room, high speed internet access with wireless capability, books, board games, movie theater room with (New in 2012) 60" LCD TV with HD, ELEVATOR and more. Plus, all the amenities of YMCA membership such as t...he fitness center, indoor/outdoor pool, basketball, racquet ball, skateboard park are complimentary with every reservation during your stay. Property Layout:

On the upper level you will find the living room with ocean views, New in 2012 a 46" LCD HD TV, DVD player, VCR and gas fireplace (during the off- season), half bathroom, dining area, a large, fully equipped kitchen with two dishwashers and a master bedroom suite with a king size bed, TV and DVD player. The large master bath contains a separate shower and a large jetted tub. Enjoy your meals at the picnic table on the large deck or just relax in the comfortable Adirondack chairs and enjoy the ocean views.

The main entry to the house is on the second level. The large deck takes you from the front of the house all the way to the back, overlooking the pool area. The second level contains four master bedroom suites each with their own TV with DVD player and full bathroom. One bedroom has a king size bed with a shower (5 inch lip) and doors that are wider that make it more handicap friendly. Two bedrooms have queen size beds and the fourth bedroom has a Pyramid Bunk with full bed on bottom and a twin on top.

On the lower level you will find the media room with its wide screen TV, comfortable seating, surround sound with a DVD and CD player. A nice selection of movies and video games are available for your enjoyment. The laundry room with washer and dryer is on the lower level. Also on the lower level is the recreation room. Here you will find a pool table, air hockey, stools and pub table, TV, DVD player, CD player, a wet bar, refrigerator and a half bathroom. Walk outside the recreation room and you are at the large, enclosed pool area. Have fun in the private 15 x 30 pool (heated for an additional fee) or relax in the hot tub. Outdoor speakers let you listen to the music being played in the recreation room. For your outdoor entertaining enjoyment there is a Tiki bar with lights and outlets. Hungry? Enjoy fresh fish, steaks, burgers and hot dogs cooked on the gas grill.

Centrally located at approximately Mile Post 12, Ocean Escape is near stores, shopping, golf and many fine restaurants.   Our family had a good time...there was plenty of room to spread out and the kitchen was well stocked with utensils, pots and pans. There were a few electrical issues that were not corrected before we left. If we come back, we would consider staying there again, provided the electrical issues are taken care of. Loved the location and access to the beach.

  We had a great stay in the Ocean Escape. We enjoyed the surround sound while in the pool & hot tub. We did have several visits in the house & pool from some local frogs which may be common by the beach? The drainage in the tub on the second level was slow which should be checked. The elevator was great for bringing in luggage & groceries to the third floor. The access to the beach was only a block away. The towels can be upgraded & some cleaning supplies would've helped us out as well . The cleaning crew did forget to dump the outside ash tray before our arrival but, The kids called the house "heaven" which says a lot!

  The home was fantastic, all ammenties as pool, hot tub, tiki bar and even the elevator for taking suitcases in and out.
  Just mentioned to mention that the bathtowels
  could be upgrades, just a suggestion.

  Not enough dishes for the amount of people allowed in house. Pots and pans were disgusting. Had to purchase our own mugs and pots and pans to use, Had to bring our own grill. The grill provided was beyond the ability to be cleaned. The bathrooms left some house cleaning issues. The Seaside staff at the rental agency were very nice and friendly. I have no ill remarks about them. I just think the house has a lot to be desired.

  For the second year in a row we stayed at Ocean Escape. As before, everything was clean (except for leaves in the pool from the storm..no biggie), and in good working order. Dispite the delay of the hurricane, we arrived on Monday to a "harried" staff who were trying to get organized as quickly as possible...Kudos ladies. Enjoyed our stay and will be back to Seaside again next year...Thank You

  Great Week in a Nice Home

  Ocean Escape is a very comfortable home in a great location. We had 2 maintainence issues that were handled promptly. The home is well maintained but showing some age. The TV in living room could be updated. The kitchen is well stocked but not the best quality pots and pans. The elevator a real bonus. Had to rent an extra wide baby gate as there were 2 toddlers in the group. The gates we brought with us were not adequate for the wide stairway. The rented one sufficed but an older toddler may have been able to push it loose (our kids were 15 months and not that interested in it - thank goodness) Probably not the best home for children that young but we made do. The gate was a hassle for us older folk - climbing over. Plenty of seating outside on the decks and around the pool. The pool was great and the location can't be beat. A short ejoyable walk to the beach, an easy drive to the new Food Lion - didn't even have to get on a main road and very nice neighborhood. We were there the week before Irene. Our hope is that Nags Head and the Outer Banks bounce back quickly. We will return.

  Beautiful Home, Great Stay...things you should know!

  This home is absolutely beautiful! It is one block from the beach. The 5 bedrooms are a good size and each having it's own bathroom is a plus. The third floor living/kitchen area is beautiful and the porches wrap around with great views. The media room is nice, pool table area is in a great spot in the house. The pool is not as big as in the picture, but is a nice size. It's well-kept, well-maintained and the elevator is such a bonus! We slept 12 people and two babies and never felt that the house was small. It's a really great place to stay.
  
  Having said all that, there's always things that you notice, especially when you are another person's house. The third floor a/c unit broke when we were there and it was a hot week (I'm sure it's fixed by now). They need new toasters and the fridge on the third floor needs an upgrade as the ice and water parts really do not work well. The porches and the furniture have a lot of nails sticking out. The house is clean, but the floors were not. We had two babies with black feet in the first day so we kept shoes on. The outdoor area has minimal furniture to sit on and no escape from the sun as there are no umbrellas around the pool area. The bedroom with the bunk beds are apparently a bit uncomfortable and squeaky.
  
  All in all, this really is a great place. It's decorated beautifully and again, is well-maintained. We would stay again with the hopes that some of the above issues would be considered. Hope you enjoy as much as we did!

  It is a very nice home and in a great location to the beach access. The week that we were there, the air went out upstairs and they had to put in window units in three windows. I don't understand why the needed part was not sent overnight express! This happened on Monday after we had checked in on Saturday. We were given a $100.00 gift certificate to use towards another home.

  House was perfect for our crew of parents, 3 married kids and 1 grandbaby. Neighborhood quiet & open.
  Very clean,great floor plan, loved the balconies and pool. easy walk to ocean and Jockey Ridge Park. Ocean view not the best, but not an issue for us. Everyone had their own bedroom & bath, and plenty more areas to hang out together.Elevator a real help moving in & out. We will do it again one day.

  What a lovely place to spend a week or two! The house and all of its contents are very well appointed. This particular house offers some privacy as it sits on a corner lot and the landscaping provides a nice buffer in between houses. The pool and spa..very nice and well maintained! And for those concerned about traveling with little kids and having a pool..there are "locked" gates at pool access points that a small child will not be able to open. Don't worry about the walk to the beach. The house is accross a quiet street from the walkway to the beach. You will need to cross the beach road/Virginia Dare Trail, but it is not too busy and cars usually yield. With that said, I would not suggest that children cross without an adult. We had a great time and cannot think of anything negative to say. The rental company was a pleasure to deal with.

  Great value for 2 family beach vcaation

  Fine 6+- year old house. No damage, moisture /air quality issues. Clean, airy interior. Nicer than pics show. Nags Head is a busy area, but house well shielded from the noise.
  Sited on residential street with v. low traffic. 1 block Park sidewalk (no vehicles) to the beach access stairs. Only need cross V. Dare Beach Rd at pedestrian crossing for sand and ocean. Great location for walking to beach with young children and saves $1K+ over equivalent oceanfront places.
  This close to shore means not having to haul blankets, coolers, umbrellas, chairs etc for beach time. 30 min in water, 3 minute walk back worked for us every day.
  Fishing pier/diner 1 block north. 1 block south Jockeys Ridge State Park. You could walk if you have the courage to cross 5 lane Croatan highway at the traffic light.
  We searched for 5+Br rentals with private pool and pool table. Both these amenities were in great condition. Guys shot lots of 9-ball while the women were in the pool. Outside Hot Tub in fine shape.
  Gas grille was dirty. No grille brush in the house. Nearby ace hardware sells 'em.
  
  Like many OBX houses, kitchen, living, bedrooms up flights of stairs. Elevator makes loading in groceries and suitcases easy. 2 dishwashers. nice.
  Every BR has private bath.
  1st level media room acoustically shielded from house. Son brought brass instrument and played there at night - disturbed no one. Kids enjoyed retro PS2 video game titles in media room.
  # of light switches is too complex, but we learned what we needed in 2 days.
  Tvs are Crts, but did you come to watch cable?
  Rent incl.Ymca access. Our daughter and her boyfriend liked this. Y is < 1/2 mile from house. Large pool/water park with the 0" deep entry for non-swimmers at Y. Worth a visit. Y receptionist directed us to lighted public tennis courts and a high quality little league ball field about 2.5 miles north (off Collington). Played out Wimbledon and World Series fantasies in the cooler evening air.

  Me and my group enjoyed our stay at the Ocean Escape. Its a beautiful home with a wonderful layout. The upstairs area is very spacious for hanging out, the bedrooms are perfect size and the fact they all had their own bathrooms was great!! In reading the previous reviews I noticed their were some complaints of lack of certain kitchen items not being available I completely overpacked for the home had all the kitchen supplies we needed. So that proves that the owners and Seaside Realty really take peoples suggestions to heart! The play room downstairs with the pool table and hockey table was great along with the theater room. We would definitly stay at this home again.

  We hand an amazinag Christmas at the Outer Banks. The "Ocean Escape" could not have been more perfect. Our family each had a bedroom and bath which gave us all our own space. We had lots or fun hanging out together in the game room, media room, and family room with a fire place. It really came in handy when it snow!!!, which only added to the adventure. The beach was beautiful, Our grandson found a shell the size of a woman's boot, we never would have believed it was possible, it was half buried

  The house was beautiful. Well kept and closely located to the beach. The pool and hot tub were very nice. The elevator was great for our wheelchair bound friend.
  There were a few cracked glasses and the TV in Master bedroom didn't work, but other then that the house was great and we plan to return again!!!

  My husband and I rent a different house every year in the Outer Banks for our family and friends to enjoy for a week. This house was great! For the first time (and this is our first time using Seaside) we had absolutely no issues with our rental. The house and grounds were immaculate. The pool was clean and well kept. The grass was beautifully mowed (even came once during the week to spruce it up). The beds were all very comfortable. After reading a previous review about the shortage of knives, I brought along my favorites from home. The location was awsome. No problems with out of control partiers or people "borrowing our fishing poles and cooler" as we have had at other areas of the beach. Having thre linens on the beds when we arrived made the "first night on vacation" more like a vacation. Having the beach within close walking distance was great and yet far enough away that I didn't have to worry that the girls trying to go there by themselves. We even had a medical emergency during the night and the Emergency Squad showed up quickly (even though it was 1 a.m.) They were very friendly and told us to call them again at any time if we needed their help. Seaside...You guys are great !! If our schedule works out, we will be back to this house in the coming year. We had grand children (3/5/6), Great Gradma, Our sons and their wives, friends of our children and ours...everyone was in agreement...This is the first time we will be re-renting a house.

  Our family thoroughly enjoyed this house. It was the perfect combination for our family ... game room, media room, great room, pool - and the elevator was a God send for my 72 year old Mother! She was able to watch the grandkids by the pool on the 1st floor - then quickly get to the 3rd floor where she could start making lunch or relaxing - she loved it - we loved it !!

  Nice experience but needs improved cleanliness

  House was very nice however was not as clean as previous houses we have stayed in. The sheets on beds had stains. The furniture in the house had stains on it. The basement had silly string still stuck to ceiling and walls. There were also ants in the kitchen. The shower in one of the bathrooms leaked in floor each time you took shower. The elevator was wonderful and location was wonderful. Overall we had a great stay but house needs a good cleaning.

  The house was beautiful and well maintained. It is the perfect house for family vacation.
  
  The pool is nice but the pool area needs more attention. A table on the pool deck would be a nice addition and chairs for the beach would also be beneficial.

  Great Ocean Escape

  Ocean Escape was a lovely beach home that was perfect for a vacation with extended family. The lay out of the house and high ceilings in the great room and kitchen made the house appear open, bright and spacious. The house is well furnished, impeccably clean, and fairly well appointed. The private pool and hot tube were a terrific addition. We used both daily. Having access to to local Y was an additional "bonus" to an already wonderful property.
  The kitchen was a minior disappointment- although it was a great space and had lots of cabinets and two dish washers, the plates were cracked and chipped and there was no cutting knife for food preparation. This can easily be corrected. As a result of this stay, I will never rent a home that does not have an elevator again. It made all the difference in the world! I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for an elegant yet comforatble week at the beach.

  Great house for a family gathering.

  This house is great. It has something for everybody. The kids enjoyed the game room and the theater room. The great room upstairs is perfect for entertaining. There has plenty of room for everyone to talk and relax together without feeling like anyone is being left out. Bedrooms and furniture are great. The house is very clean, and we enjoyed the hot tub. The decks are amazing. The only complaint I have is that there was only one oven and the kitchen does not have a variety of utensils and serving dishes (Example: large platters, large bowls, baking pans, rolling pin, large serving spoons/forks). Since we had Thanksgiving dinner there, these were items that we needed. Overall, the house is great and the whole family throughly enjoyed our week together.

  October weekend at Ocean Escape

  Mom is 83 and hasn't taken a family vacation with us for about 5 years. She has difficulty negotiating unfamiliar living areas and has been unwilling to try. Because there was a wedding in the family, she wanted to be there.
  The set up of the home and the availability of the elevator not only allowed her easy and safe mobility, it also allowed her to participate in any and all of our family activities. She now feels that she can once again join us when we have a family vacation.

  Thrilled Beyond Expectations!

  This was the first time that I rented in Nags Head and was so pleasantly
  surprised when I pulled up. The picture on the website makes the house
  look far away from the ocean but it really is only 4 houses and across from
  a beautifully landscaped walk to the ocean. No houses in front so a great
  view.
  
  We barbequed the first night and was running out of grill gas, called for
  more and it came within the hour. Terrific. Also had a problem with the
  ceiling fan and a wasp nest on the jacuzzi. They came the next day and
  repaired. Great service.
  
  The home is beautiful and spacious. I am a designer and very picky. We
  had 14 people stay and everyone was able to disappear. We had a bunch of
  rain but played pool a real lot.
  
  Just across from Jockey's Ridge. You have to go but bring a kite! Lots of
  hiking, go early, it gets real hot, real early.
  
  I liked best the size of the home and pool. Also, we looked around for a
  better house and the value couldn't be beat. There was a house right on
  the ocean for twice the amount of money and 3 more bedrooms, but this
  was a terrific value for its location and amenities. I liked least the amount
  of pillows and comfort of beds - not that great. You definitely need to
  bring another coffee pot. Only one 12 cup pot and we were going through
  it like crazy!

  this is our second year at ocean escape and most of all seaside vacations. The location is perfect for our family and has everything we needed. Seaside vacations were exceptional in their service. Little things did not wait they were taken care of immediately. Thanks seaside management and staff

  This house has everything you need and is very close to the beach. Every bedroom has its own bath which is great. It is perfect for large families.
  We have never rented the same house twice, but we plan to rent this one again.
