Seaside Vacations was great to work with, their service was excellant, and they responded promptly to a problem with the rental house bathroom. Would highly recommend Seaside Vacations. The rental property and house was clean, availiable when promised, well equipped, and in a pleasant neighborhood. We enjoyed ourselves, enjoyed our fist visit to Nags Head and would return to the same rental property.

Loved the location, the space, and that it was dog friendly. The house was easy to find and the decks were great for relaxing. Fun to watch the birds, squirrels and rabbits on the back deck while having our morning coffee.

House was spacious & cool, even w/ 90+degree temps. Couple of minor problems were promptly fixed by Will from Seaside Vacations. This location is great because it's in a residential area near the sound, away from noise & traffice. Our 6 yr. old granddaughter can ride her bike in the cul-de-sac & feel safe & away from traffic.

The service provided by the realty company was good. The rental process was straightforward and went well. The grass at the house had not been cut, and the rental company sent a crew to mow within a few hours of our call. They were courteous and helpful.
The house was comfortable and located in a neighborhood that we like. We enjoy walking in the quiet, family-friendly area and viewing the sunsets along the Sound. Updates to the house would improve one's experience in the following ways: dvd players in the bedrooms, blinds repaired in the upstairs bunkbed bedroom, blinds repaired/replaced on living room door to front balcony, and fan in upstairs bunkbed bedroom. We appreciate that the house is pet-friendly and the great yard for walking our dog. The location is terrific and we are interested in returning. -

This is the second time we have used Seaside to book our vacation rental. Two years ago we stayed in Southern Shores. Both houses were nice but this one was the best ever. Beautiful home, great decor and the location was perfect. We loved it and all had a wonderful time. Can't wait to come again. Seaside always offers amazing service and would recommend them to everyone. Thank you so much to Seaside and the homeowner.

My husband had to go to the Outer Banks for a few weeks on a work related trip. The dog and I were lucky enough to go along! A few friends joined us for a few days, but most of the time we were on our own. Our cottage was very comfortable and stocked with everything we needed. I like how close it is to the sound and the ocean, but had to figure out by myself how to get to the water on the ocean side- 1 mile isn't exactly correct if one is walking.
We plan on a return trip when possible. -

due to the storm irene we lost a days stay .without the great staff at sea side it would have been more.you must remember that most of these people suffered home damage but they were on duty and every one was wonderful.cottage was clean, service was fast,vacation was wonderful.

The house was beautiful and accommodated us very well. I was able to rollerblade, and walk to the sound easily. We did walk to the beach but I would recommend driving (especially if you have a lot of stuff to tote).
We did have one issue - the bedroom on the first floor was hot. We called the rental office and got the answering service - we did not receive a call back. We did remedy the situation by keeping the door from the kitchen area to the downstairs open at all times and this cooled the downstairs. A separate a/C unit should be installed downstairs.

Christmas at the beach was a delight for me, two young adults and our little dog, Jack. Each of us enjoyed the privacy of our own bedroom, bathroom and even our own level of the cottage. (Well, except Jack had to share his room.) On our first day, we relaxed watching a gentle snow, enjoyed a fire in the fireplace and prepared quite a feast. The kitchen seemed to have just what I needed for each dish, The decor is is quite charming throughout. It appears that several neighbors live in the OBX year round and have some large dogs on the other side of the fences on two sides. The dogs were extremely friendly once we realized they were not as intimidating as they first appeared. (The yard for this cottage is not fully enclosed for your pet.) Bring your camera and walk to the sound for some gorgeous sunsets!

This house had the perfect layout for our family. We loved the neighborhood for walks, and the proximity to the sound and Jockey's Ridge! It was great that we could walk there and hike the dunes every day. The furniture and beds are very comfortable, and the kitchen was well stocked for cooking. We loved it!

A beautiful home, very well decorated.
I picked the home for the large cozy couches but we got so much more. 2 of the 3 large beds were amazingly comfortable. One, so-so. The price is the lowest in the area. This is our 3rd year at the Outer Bank and feel that Sandy Ridge is by far the best deal. Our friends that were down with us fell in love with our place. They have been coming to OBX for 15 years, and they told us, 'it's a keeper', and they couldn't believe the rent. We have already booked this home for 2 weeks next year. I think you will be pleased too.
The service was perfect.
Example- We moved to SeasideVacations after a problem last year with a large local vacation rental company we used in 2009. My father sat in a chair and it collapsed under him on the 2nd day. We were charged $60 by that company for repair (Glue Job). Unable to resolve this with their management, I was not happy.
Aug 2010- The previous renters at McCaskill home reported a loose chair and maintainance arrived to pick up the chair, returned it a few days later, no charge to the previous renters. Now that is service!
I loved the linen service, much easier for me.

we loved Mccaskill Cottage. it was quiet and close to all the wonderful sites that the outer banks offers. the one complaint we had was that the law looked like a jungle and we had brought our dogs. so it was a bit harder to pick up after them in the over grown yard. over all experience was fabulous!

McCaskill Cottage is a very well-equipped house, very close to the small beach at Nag's Head Sound. Bedrooms are very comfortable, as is the living area, and there was plenty of space for 5 adults, a baby and 1 dog!
The house is well located for grocery shopping, fresh fish market and local restaurants.

My wife and I were empty-nesters this year for Christmas so decided to take it easy and relax at the beach. This is a very nice home and overall we did enjoy our visit and the home. The home was clean and by appearances was well cared for. Liked the little book and reading what others had to say about their visit.
A couple items to consider or fix:
-- The rental agency could have had someone go by earlier in the day and turn the heat. The house was freezing when we got there and took a while to warm up.
-- Good thing we didn't have any guests that were to stay downstairs since the heat down there didn't work and it would have been a cold morning and shower. This should have been something the rental agency discovered when they prepped the house for our visit.
-- Need a new grate in the fireplace for better air flow and the fan in the fireplace didn't work so not much heat given off by fireplace.
-- Have a few Christmas decorations to help it feel more like home. -

We loved visiting the Outer Banks for the first time. One family comes from FL and the other from MD. We usually meet near Asheville, but wanted something a little different this time. The cottage was perfect...close to everything, spacious for the kids, clean and comfortable for the adults. We liked the price and didn't mind that there were not a lot of frills. It was especially great for the long weekend because we didn't feel we were missing out on a swimmimng pool or gameroom and could focus on exploring the area. We could have used a little more guidance on how to pick restaurants & activities to do. We didn't get a guide with our keys and there wasn't much at the cottage. The kids didn't want to leave & already asked us to schedule our next trip.

We had a wonderful time at the Outerbanks this year. Myself, my husband, my Mom and my bestfriend all came and had a great time. Can't forget our dog Logan who is a big fan of the OuterBanks too! I have been coming to OBX for over 30 years and have never had a bad vacation and am glad to say that this vacation is included. The house was great, the weather great, the realtor great. Just can't say it enough. We would use Seaside again and definitly rent McCaskill Cottage again.

I was very pleased with the agents with whom I dealt. They were very courteous and helpful. The home was so comfortable for the seven people and 2 dogs that stayed there. It truly was home away from home. It made our trip enjoyable and we will certainly stay there again.

For first time visitors this is the perfect location. You are in the middle of everything!! We had an issue witht eh AC and withing 30 minutes maintance was there and the next morning first thing the AC man was there to do the needed repair. The Staff of Seaside is bar-none!! We had two 17 year olds with us and when we needed info on Teen Night advertised via an airplane, they researched it and were able to get me all the needed information to make an informed choice. Beach 4 wheeling is an experience all should do while on the OBX.
Dirty Dicks is EXTREMELY overrated and would not suggest it at all!! Owen's onthe other hand is worth every dollar you will spend there. Ot some of the door ways there was some evidence of damage tot he wood either by insects and/or weather, but nothing that would stop us from stayingthere again.
We are already planning next year and will only book with Seaside Vacations!!

We found the home to have lots of room, to be very clean with nice furniture, all the modern conveniences and lots of decks. Just had a great time. We will be coming back!
It is too bad there isn't an ocean or sound view but one is only a block or two away and the ocean a very short drive.
Area is quite with a nice back yard. -

We loved the cottage and being close to the sound. Seaside Vacations was most helpful during the whole renting process. Nags Head is a wonderful place to visit.

House was great. A lot of room for our family. Rooms were bright & clean. Furniture was comfortable. Also had Wifi access which we used. The residential neighborhood was very quiet which we liked- away from main streets, noise, etc.

My wife and I had never been to Nags Head before , but thoroughly enjoyed
our stay as a result of the spaciousness of the Cottage as well as the proximity
to the beach. A great time was had by all the members of our group. It would
have been nice if their had been a full fence with the home as it would have
made things more convenient for our dog which wen with us on the trip. -

My family and I just spent a week at the McCaskill Cottage- wonderfull time. The house was exactly like the pictures. We had 4 Adults and 4 children and we had enough room to where we were not bumping into each. The house had all the addmenities that a larger house would have expect at a cheaper cost.
I would highly recommend this house to anyone who has not rented a beach house before. You get your money worth on this one. It is in a great location, walking distance to the Sound Side, neighborhood is very quiet.
