All the home was very clean, and completely ready to go! The Tv's were all newer flat screens and cable worked in all the rooms. The best part of this home were the beds by far! All the beds were newer and everyone slept well!!

Stayed a week in October-weather was great, house was perfect. Lots of room for a big family to get together yet still places to get away for a little quiet time. Beach access great as well as convenient to food, activities and the rest. Great lay out for dogs and sunrises on the decks. Bring soap, toilet paper and garbage bags. Stay on walkways and out of the dog run-killer burrs.

We loved this house. We had a group of 17 people, a baby and two dogs and there was plenty of room. Everyone also had lots of space and privacy. We would definitely rent this house again. We loved the beach in South Nags Head and the location of the house.
I think the home should come with a roll of toilet paper in each bathroom and a garbage bag in the can at least! Be prepared to bring something with you or you will have to go to the store right away. The dog run area was overgrown with weeds that had burs and each dog got a bur stuck in their skin. The ice maker is such a great feature that we used often! I was also really happy with how much seating there was in the living/ dining rooms. Overall, this is a good house to rent and we can't wait to go back to OBX! -

Our family has been staying at Feelin' Good again for the past 7 years and this was the best year yet! The new owners have taken great care too ensure that the house was thoroughly cleaned from top to bottom and all King and Queen mattresses replaced for a wonderfully comfortable night's sleep each night. New flat screen Tv's with built in dvd players are fantastic and all of the new amenities were wonderful surprises for us all!! This house has become our home away from home every summer and we've watched our children grow and gather with their cousins and make such priceless memories here. The location is perfect as it is far enough away from hotels not to be crowded, and more family-friendly people, but still close enough to drive to the nearest grocery store 5 miles down ~ or walk as some of our guests did!! The covered gazebo looking out over the sand and water makes this nice for those who can't be "on the beach." We hope to be able to afford to return each year and keep this tradition going and pass on to the next generation. The greatest joy of all, though, is for kids and grown ups to be able to experience all this fun with the family dog. Thank you to the new owners, for keeping this a "pet-friendly" vacation home. We greatly appreciate that because there aren't many large, comfortable, oceanfront homes that are still "pet friendly" on OBX. From all of our family ~ thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Already booked for next year.

We have been doing our family vacation at OBX for about
15 years and we found "Feelin Good again" when our grand-daughter told us "6 in One Bedroom was too much" that was in Kitty Hawk. Feelin Good again has everything we want, need and like. It makes our family vacation together wonderful, the 9 bedrooms, kitchen arrangement, tables and chairs, pool table, hot tub, pool, elevator. I could go on and on. -

We have a guys only fishing trip each year. We found this to be the best house we have rented to date. Plenty of beds, 10 guys and each had their own. Great location on the beach and near what was important to us , marina, pier, and food. Clean and well appointed with what you need for a comfortable stay.

Although there are many very large houses ocean front in Kill Devil Hills and Nag's Head only one of the size we stayed in fits the bill in this category. We were there for a location wedding of one of our grandsons. The house the groom and family stayed in was a Nags Head house. The bride's family stayed at a similar house in Kill Devil Hills where the wedding was held on the beach at sunset.
I will speak to the really fabulous house we had. It was indeed nine bedrooms, each with a bath, and ten baths to cover the common area on the fourth floor. There was an elevator that went from the first floor to the fourth floor. There were two fully equipped kitchens one on the ground floor that exited to the pool, jacuzzi, and a wood walkway over the dunes to the beach. Also on the ground floor was a pool table, darts and a plush indoor theater with a large screen and ceiling mounted projector. There were four rows of four seats each with each seat having an area for drinks and snacks. It could show movies from Satellite or Dvds or cable offerings.
The top floor had one master bed room, a game room, a kitchen, a large table and fireplace and a big sitting area with floor to ceiling windows and views of the beach and ocean.. There were also TVs in every room.
The house was just a few years old and was well furnished and immaculate. Our group consisted of the Mother of the groom who arranged the rental. Other family members chipped in so that when you divided up the per person or per/bedroom cost, it is not bad at all. We had three families of six total from New Jersey, three from Delaware, five from atlanta, and two from Sarasota Florida.
The latter was myself and my wife.who were the grandparents. Although our daughter, mother of the groom, did the financials for house and food. She assured us that everything was under control. Our share was minimal as all of the people who came were still working and very well off financially. I waived my normal ministerial fee for the wedding.
The brides house was even bigger but quite similar in other items.
These places were built for family gatherings for weddings or reunions or whatever. Homes this size also cater to groups of friends and/or relatives to divide up the rooms and the other costs.
My understanding is that the rates are higher in the summer but there is obviously a demand for big houses. -

space and a better use would be another refrigerator with a
freezer at the top or bottom. The kitchen was better equipted than before. The house was cleaner than last year.
The wide beach is beautiful and in the evening there are many good restaurants. Our family loves the space and watch
movies and play sometimes heated games at the extra large
table. -

Upon arriving we were informed that we had a key code to enter our vacation home which was somewhat discouraging since we had 6 family members waiting at the house for almost an hour who could have gotten in. We were informed that an email was sent with this information along with the fact that we had no heated pool which we had paid for and had to request a refund. The walkway to the beach was covered in sand and at one point it was as high as the railing. We requested this be addressed and were told it would be done. Four days later someone came by, took a few shovel fulls of sand and quit leaving the task undone. Although there were sufficient beds none were comfortable and all squeaked and creaked. Additionally the aC on the second floor was not working in all the rooms and the laundry on the ground floor was diconnected causing the 13 of us to use the only one available on the second floor. The only saving grace for this vacation home was it location which was magnificient. Each morning the sun came up and the view from the deck was worth half of what we had paid for this home. We have stayed many times on the Outer Banks and will return again and again but will most likely not use this rental agency as customer service and satisfaction doesn't appear to be high on the list. It's too bad since with some changes this home could be a great place to spend time on the OBX.

The removal of the sand from the walkway to the ocean apparently was not completed and there we did fall short.
The mechanical issues that you note were not brought to our attention previously, but we will address these issues promptly.

We had family ranging in ages 3 to 75 and with the elevator, large kitchen and laid back feeling of the house toddlers to teens to parents and grandparents were able to enjoy a wonderful week at the beach, making memories.
The only complaint a number of us adults had was that the king size bed and a few of the queen sized beds on the middle floor were not comfortable enough to get a decent night's sleep. For the amount of rent charged for this house the beds should be top notch comfort ~ it's a vacation and we need great sleep!!! We've been coming to the same house for 6 years and the mattresses/boxsprings don't seem to have ever been replaced or upgraded. Apparently the only really comfortable beds are the pyramids in the lower level where the kids sleep :o) Parents and grandparents have got to get a good night's sleep to fully enjoy and have enough energy for long days at the beach, sightseeing and in the pool. Otherwise a great time was had by all. Kitchen fully stocked, plenty of dishes and cookware.
Hope to come back to this house every year for many years to come ... and hope to find the beds much more comfortable... please??? Value and comfort ratings are related to the beds not the rest of the furniture in the house. -

The house has a ton of potential. But, the homeowner is letting it go. The grills both were filthy and everytime we lit them there were flames shooting out of them. Grease would be on fire. Scarey. The house is obviously being let go. The bedding was the cheap hotel type bedspreads and the tvs were all old and fuzzy. We did get a flat screen tv put in the family room, because the old one didn't work anymore. Thank you Seaside Realtors! They were great, we called with any problem, they came and took care of it. The Beach construction was unsitely and the owner should've substantially discounted the weeks rental cost because of it!! The ice machine was fabulous1 the kitchen supplies stink. No baking dishes, no tupperware, no good knives. I think this house could be a great stay if they put some money into their kitchen supplies, their bedding and beds, and purchase some updated tv's and furniture. Lots and lots of potential - Just needs some work and money put back into it!

The Pros: Plenty of rooms to accommodate our whole family. Pet friendly. Beach access and gazebo were wonderful. Seating on top level family room was comfortable. Access and checkout to the home with the keyless entry was a nice change.
The Cons: The mattresses were sub-par and nobody slept well. Our backs are still trying to un-wrench themselves. This will be the only reason we will not return to this home. Let us know if this situation changes. Another disappointment were the towels provided. Stiff and felt they were new and had never been washed. Finally, kitchen needs to be rearranged to provide a cabinet or two for all of the week's worth of food that needs to be put away. The ones over the refrigerator were out of reach for us short-statured people. (provide a step ladder??)
Side note (not within your control)- the beach replenishment was located in front of the home by Wednesday of our visit, so we had to endure the noise and disruption. Along with that was the smoke in the air from the smoldering wildfires. Those in our group with asthma had to remain indoors. So coupled with the lousy sleep, this visit to the OBX (and we are in our 20th year) went down as one of the worst. Sorry.Response from Seaside Vacations* - 07/20/2011

We just stayed at Feelin Good again, and it is a really nice house, but the beds are very uncomfortable. I noticed some other reviews commenting on the beds, but they were worse than I expected. They are not comfortable at all, and every time you move in the beds, the mattress and box springs squeak. It's very hard to get a good night's sleep. A couple of the beach chairs at the pool were broken, and the chain kept coming off one of the bikes. The pool is very nice, the ice maker works great, as well as the new grill. We wouldn't consider renting this house again unless they got new mattresses. However, we will consider using Seaside Vacations again as they were always very nice and helpful.

We held our church's ladies retreat at this house and it worked perfectly. The kitchen was a dream with the double ovens, frigs, dishwashers, etc. and it allowed for several different styles of cooking from banquet to buffet. The different gathering areas allowed for one to enjoy different activities from shooting pool to enjoying the wonderful beach view. There was also plenty of space for cars to park in the drive. Thanks for allowing us to rent your home!
I also have to give a big "Thumbs Up" to Seaside Vacations for making this one of the easiest rental experiences we have had for our retreat. Office Staff was both courteous and helpful with finding a house and with checking in. The convenience of not having to travel back to the realty office to check out was great!

House was very nice, Seaside took care of a few little issues we had quickly... House was amply stocked with dishes, glasses, silverware, cookware, etc. Heated pool was the right temperature and the pool service came twice. The walk way to the beach is very nice and helpful to folks who might otherwise have not made it out there. Only couple of things I would change... Outside speakers for the pool and put up plywood to block the sand from blowing over the walkway to the beach.

The house was wonderfull. Right on the beach was great.
We had a group of 17 adults and everyone had a great time. Plenty of room to spread out. New grill was nice and pleanty of chairs both outdoor and indoor.
Beds could use an upgrade to pillow tops and pool table needs new cues and chalk.

We found the house to be very nice. The pool was great. Location is very good. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. Furniture is very nice. Our only complaint would be that the beds were uncomfortable and the grill was not usable.

Charlotte NCA great house ruined by lack of maintenance

A great house and location - but - Air conditioning is undersized and poorly maintained. The third(main) floor of the house gets up tp 85 or higher every day. When we called to complain, we were told that it is normal for the 3rd floor to get very warm during sunny days. Not true - a well designed beach house will remain comfortable in the summer.
The house came with one garbage can (no recycling bin) for a house that sleeps 26. Called to complain; told that they would send out more - never did.
Pool table and supplies were a joke - table falling apart, one usable cue.
Gas grill has 2 settings - full blast or off

Feelin' Good Again

The Trip started out a little rough when we were told that we could not get into the house by 3PM. We have a very large extended family with a Grand Father who is very ill. It was difficult to tell everybody where to go and what to do while we waited for our house to be ready. We did request early access to the house for this reason alone. While we did not get the early access, we did expect to be able to get into the house at a reasonable time. We have rented large homes in North Carolina beach towns for years and this has never been a problem.
The house was in a great location, but it definitely needs some upgrading. We rented a bigger 10BR, 10Ba house last year for the same price. This other house was almost brand new. It was like a palace when it came to amenities including a grand dining table for about 20, comfy beds with sheets already made up, beach towels, chairs, office, card room, balacony off each BR, and lots of a/C units.
The Feelin Good again house did not have adequate a/C. The units were very old and did not cool the house properly. Some bedrooms were down right unbearable. For the money we paid this has to be fixed. The beds themselves were in bad shape. They all sagged and squeked with every move. The pool was dirty when were arrived and needed to have the filter fixed. It was much cloudier than the other pools adjacent to the property. The gas grill outside also needs to be replaced. Half of the grill was not working at all. We were also missing a crib which showed in one of the pictures of the property.
The owners of the house should plan to stay in it before the season opens to make sure it is up to snuff. You can not continue to charge the rates they did for a house that is so desperately in need of updating.

At check in the Seaside rep was very kind, our house was clean and all the ammenities were wonderful. The 5 bedrooms on the second floor worked out perfectly for the 2 youngest children to have quiet for napping. everyone gathered on the 3rd floor for eating and entertainment. Easy access to the beach for everyone. The only negative comment is that the grill is wore out and needs replaced, but we managed.

the trip was in late september, perfect weather. the house is well laid out as is the approach to the shore. the only short fall was the pool heater was not working. just received a prompt refund for the pool heater fee. would stay there again.

The house needs attention to the air conditioning on floors 2 and 3. These floors were never cool, expecially when the ovens were used. The dryer needs to be serviced or heating unit needs replaced. Took 2 hours to dry a load of towels. The floor plan shows 2 washers and dryer, but there is only one. Chairs and tables need a good cleaning. They were gummy and dirty.
The service we received from Seaside was excellent. The sewer backed up the second day we were there. Seaside took care of everything, including the cleaning that needed to be done.
I would recommend Seaside, but would not rent this house again. -

This was the second time we have stayed at Feelin Good Again. After last years stay we submitted a list of (mostly minor) items that could use some attention. Some items were taken care of and some were not. The house is in a great location, has the elevator that we need, allows dogs and is priced right. We have signed up to stay again next year. The big item that still needs attention is the noisy bed situation. Most of the beds in the house are EXTREMELY noisy due to worn or defective box springs. It is difficult to get quality sleep - don't even think about sex - when your bed and the beds in the rooms above, below and next to you are all very loud. A normal size person gently rolling over in bed can easily be heard in the hallway. The cooktop has been repaired but is still very weak; the grill portion is almost useless. The folks at Seaside vacations are friendly and helpful. We had a minor issue with the TV system (a small and old TV) that was delt with quickly and completely. The house is not super-lux, but it does have everything you need for casual gathering of a large family. We will be back.

PAMy family made my vacation, not the house!

While my family and I had a great vacation and staying right on the beach was fantastic, this house has many issues!
From the start of our stay it was one thing after another with the house and property! The crib was broken(had to go rent my own), couldn't use the basketball net(it was covered in poison oak), the bathrooms were not clean, no room to park for a nine bedroom house, a toilet seat broke right off, a bedframe completely broke(the bedroom furniture was all in need of replacement), one of the washers we really needed had been broken since 2008,the hot tub had broken jets that caused foot injuries to two family members, kitchen cabinet door was falling off, pool area was in complete disaray(broken chairs thrown in what was to be a dog run, weeds growing everywhere), there was no useable grill...
and the list goes on! The house did not match the description and when we brought these issues up with Seaside Vacations they blamed the homeowner, unfortunately I rented the house from Seaside Vacations!

This is the third year for Feelin' Good Again, and we're ready to move on to another home for new memories. If your looking for a beach house with a breathtaking view of the dolphins every morning, this is it.
My hat is off to Seaside agents for their competent and professional response when repairs were needed. This house has OBX charm, but needs some TLC! -

This was our 8th Thanksgiving in this home. I think it was cleaner this time - although our Scottie slid and rolled in areas of the carpet which told me other dogs had left deposits. I know when it is rental property things are broken and/or stolen and sometimes we have to improvise. I really appreciated the new pots! My husband, children and their spouses, grandchildren and their spouses, and two great-grandchildren love the house!!!

The house location is great. They need to just clean the place up outside. The grill is rough looking and the area around the grill is not maintained, junky looking. The pool area has plastic furniture in poor condition too which cheapens the look and lacks comfort. There is only one table and 4 chairs on the top deck, nothing at all on the middle deck so all you can do is stand outside on the middle deck. They really should put a hammock and some rockers out. The basketball net outside is weathered and barely there. The TV on the main floor has a fuzzy picture, bedroom pictures are clear so I watched TV from the bedroom mainly.
We cleaned up the place when we got there. There was beer cans and some paper trash outside of the house to the side of the deck.
The beach was hit hard. However I love coming to North Carolina because to me it is just fantastic.
I would really love to buy a condo/town there one day.
Please let the owners know that the view is awesome and to put some outdoor furniture in the place so the guests can enjoy it.

Feeling Good Again was great for 22 of us, the kitchen had 2 dishwasher, 2 refrigerators and seating in the kitchen for all of us, the bedrooms, and the bathrooms were so nice, the view of the ocean was the greatest, the pool was nice and the hot tube perfect.
We had stayed at a nice house in Kitty Hawk, but our family outgrew it, but Feeling Good Again is just perfect for us now. Much like the comforts of home. -

We enjoyed our stay at "Feelin Good Again". It is in an ideal location with relatively quiet beach but with easy access to the commercial areas.
The house needs a little maintenance/touchup, especially in the game room but has all the amenities. Elevator is important and the double refrigerator was fantastic for all the food and beverages. Two dishwashers made it easy to keep up with the dishes. Paper or plastic plates work well for the casual lunches. Would have been nice if the mid-week pool maintenance included cleaning out the sand. The pool area is a little below par compared to the other units. Could be fixed with some vegetation control and more deck furniture. The gazebo overlooking the beach is good for watching the family but keeping out of the sun if that is an issue.
The people at Seaside do a good job.
