We all felt lucky to live there. In this homelike cottage, there are big kitchen, comfortable living room and beautiful yard with garden swing chair. The host also provided apple pie as gift. We had a wonderful BBQ outside and their dog, Cleo is very friendly and cute! The river is just beside the house and is so quiet and peaceful. We love it a lot and will try to live there again next summer!

We stayed in this cabin 1 night on the way from Pacific Rim to Victoria. When we entered the cabin, an apple cake awaited us on the table - yammee... You feel immediately like at home.
Very comfortable living room, bedroom and bathroom.
If we'd stayed longer we surely could use the kitchen and the BBQ.
The hosts are very nice people.
For us the location was great cause it was outside Nanaimo and the river near the house was a bonus. -

Clean, comfortable and convenient. Beautiful setting by the river within easy driving distance of many Vancouver Island destinations.
Hosts were super friendly and nice. They thought of everything to make our stay enjoyable. A very pleasant surprise was the home baked apple pie.
We will definitely select this as our preferred place to stay the next time that we are in the area. -

So lovely to stay at a B&B; and yet have our own space entirely. Was totally willing to stay a little bit outside of Nanaimo in order to have such wonderful accommodation. They've thought of everything (only little thing missing was some magazines or books to read while relaxing outside on the comfy seats, but that's minor). You can tell the place is new and that it really means something to the owners. Love the hardwood floors, cosy bed, extra fold out couches, quaint bathroom and quiet setting, yet close to freeway. Only small downside was with the rain, the rocky sides of the Nanaimo river meant I had to keep close to kids when we were out there, but plenty to enjoy in the little garden and indoors together. Thank you for your hospitality, yummy pie on arrival and thoughtfulness. Also helped us to find out the times for Jumping Jimini indoor playground for kids when it was raining too much to go outdoors. Lovely stay, want to do it as a 'no kids getaway' one day. ;-) thanks!!

What a beautiful cabin in beautiful surroundings. A quick and scenic drive from Nanaimo. We were out on the island to visit relatives and it was a wonerful place to call home while we were away.wish we would of found this jewel sooner! Cant wait to come back. Thank-you

Gina and John certainly have thought of everything in their cozy cottage - from the building itself to all of the amenities within. They were extremely friendly, helpful and flexible. And the delicious apple pie awaiting us upon arrival was the topper of this couple's attention to every detail. We had a fabulous girls-weekend-away and will all be back again.

My Wife and I stayed at a Riverside B&B; for 3 nights during august 2010. When we arrived at first I was wondering if we were in the correct place as the photos do no do the place any justice. I was expecting a standard B&B; as you get in Europe, but here you actually get your own cabin. Everything that we needed was there and it was a great spot to explore the island from. I have no hesitation in recommending this place, John and Gina are lovely people and Gina is a gifted cook. My one tip is that the breakfasts are a must. Lovely.

Gina and John were terrific hosts. This was our very first B&B; and it was amazing. To the homemade pie that was waiting for us on our arrival to the go-away breakfast we received the night before, the comforting feeling when you walk through the front door and just the warm welcome we received from both was simply amazing. These hosts obviously take pride in their home and it was a great comfort knowing they were only a few steps away. My family and I will definately be returning on our next visit.

We loved this place! Owners were so kind. There was an amazing apple pie waiting upon arrival. The river is gorgeous. The house is immaculate. It really was perfect. Make sure to head down the road a little ways to the smaller swimming holes if you have children. We would highly recommend this B&B; to anyone!

My 2 sisters and I stayed here and it was just lovely. Hosts, Gina and John, welcomed us when we arrived and even walked us down to the river to show us where the swimming holes are and the beautiful views of the river.
The cottage is set up so nicely - very spacious, nice kitchen, quite large bedroom and bathroom and everything was spotlessly clean. The two pull out couches were very comfy.
Gina had left us a homebaked apple pie on the kitchen island - delicious!!
Outside there is a nice patio, with a barbeque that we used and ate out steaks outside on the patio table. Colorful flowers all around and so peaceful.
It was a great place to get away to and still close to Nanaimo for shopping, walking in the Harbour, etc. -

Want to get away? Stay with Gina and John! The cabin has all you can want to feel at home. Comfy bed, clean as a whistle and the kitchen will please any cook. The location is wonderful, plenty of privacy and a few steps from the river to enjoy either the water or some great hiking. Close to Nanaimo for your shopping needs. Gina and John are wonderful hosts, quick to share some good info and very generous with breakfast supplies, fresh herbs, veggies and fruit from their garden. We truly enjoyed our stay!

This bed and breakfast was exactly what we needed. The scenery was beautiful and the cottage was wonderful. There were many places to explore along the river or you could just hide away in the comforts of home away from home. Gina and John have created a wonderful little place to get away to and even added in the most delicious home made apple pie! Thank you very much!
