Sunny, cheerful, cozy year-round home in one of the most desirable areas of historic Nantucket Island. Walk to Steps Beach, downtown Nantucket, or Something Natural bakery, where the most fabulous sandwiches, breads, and cookies on the island are made. Nantucket is a 15-mile long and 7-mile wide island located 26 miles off the coast of Cape Cod, Massachusetts. It has a rich documented history during the whaling years, as well as the BEST beaches with public access, on all of Cape Cod.
There are 2 ferry lines that run out to the island, both from Hyannis, MA. One ferry service (www.steamshipauthority.com) takes cars and reservations are necessary. They also run a fast ferry (one hour) service from the mainland to Nantucket. The other ferry service (www.hylinecruises.com) offers very comfortable fast ferry passenger-only service year round.
Airlines serve Nantucket from Hyannis and Boston Mass., as well as NYC and Washington DC. These include Cape Air, Nantucket Airlines, and United. Not sure if others are now serving the island.

Additional notes from owner
Our house works well for 4-6 people. The cleaner and caretaker do know how many people are in residence so I appreciate honesty when booking! The dog fee is non-refundable but much less than a kennel stay or petsitter would be.

Perfect location and perfect for a family. This charming cape is in one of the best locations on the island, with a short walk to town and a short walk to 3 beaches. Definitely a home away from home, comfortable furnishings with all the amenities, including washer/dryer, outdoor shower, linens and beach gear. It has everything you need to have a great vacation.

Nahant, MARelaxing and Private Interlude

My spouse and I had a wonderful time at the McHughs' cottage last summer. The house is in a lovely, quiet neighborhood and yet is walkable to the downtown shops and restaurants. The backyard is spacious and private. The outdoor shower is a blast; imagine showering with the birds singing and blue sky overhead. The McHughs answered all our questions honestly and were wonderful hosts.

My husband, dog and I have been coming to "Intuition" for the past 5 years and have really enjoyed the comfortable and homey accomodations. The full kitchen is stocked with most gadgets (and I do cook a lot here); the wifi, cable tv and in-home laundry are must-haves and have worked very well for us. We really enjoy the one floor living, the ability to easily walk to town or the beach, and the fact that we can park our car off the street. The yard is spacious and private.
The owners are great about getting back to us quickly whenever we have a concern. It's always fun to see what new improvements they've made when we arrive.
This is definitely a beach house - don't expect granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. But it is absolutely comfortable and a good value for Nantucket.
