Perfect place to stay for a vacation to explore wine country and

Left on 04/30/2013 for a stay in April 2013

This property was everything described on the web site. Clean, comfortable, nicely decorated and had everything we needed. There are many great places for food and drink within walking distance. It was also nice to have a grill and fully equipped kitchen to prepare a couple of meals there, relax, hang out and enjoy each others company after a day touring wineries and shopping. And there is nothing like relaxing in the hot tub to top off the day. This was our first experience with a "Home away rental". I was a bit apprehensive about it but Paul's communication was always prompt, clear and professional and put all of my concerns to rest. This is a great place to stay, home away form home!

Left on 04/12/2013 for a stay in March 2013

From the first email I sent to inquire about the property to the last email I rec'd notifying me of my deposit refund Paul was responsive, professional and honest. Very refreshing. The pictures are exactly what the place looks like...everything was in working order, the hot tub was super clean and the women in our group loved it. If you like what you see on the website rent it...because what you see if what you get and the owners are incredibly easy to work with. I give the owners and the "Bungalow" 5 Stars because there wasn't a choice for 6 Stars.

Left on 09/11/2012 for a stay in May 2012

This was the perfect place for my family for our week long California getaway. Coffee in the living room while planning our adventures, a well equipped kitchen for making family meal to eat on the deck each evening, a soak in the hot tub before bed. Spacious enough for 3 couples(our parents used the bungalow) to relax and not trip over each other.

      Exactly as advertised

Left on 05/21/2012 for a stay in May 2012

As a professional travel writer, I spend countless days each year flying around the world and inspecting vacation destinations like hotels and boats for reports in magazines. It never ceases to amaze me how many of these places are nothing like their advertisements. So many properties out there are all marketing and no substance.

I was thus both relieved and pleased to see that the Napa Vacation Bungalow was exactly as advertised--cute, safe, comfortable, and a short walk to town. The rental process was handled professionally, the house was fantastic, and my vacation was terrific.

I was in Napa for my 40th birthday with a group of female friends, and everyone absolutely loved the place. We had a great time touring the wineries up in the county by day, walking to gourmet restaurants in town at night, and then enjoying a nightcap in the bungalow's hot tub. Even the people who slept on the pull-out sofas were comfortable. It was an absolutely superb experience, exactly as I had hoped it would be.

      A Little Piece of Heaven

Left on 01/06/2011 for a stay in December 2011

My party of five family members stayed here over Christmas 2010. We all are annoyingly picky over accomodations, but could not find a single fault with our choice! Both the main house and guest house are neat, clean, well-furnished, and very comfortable, including the beds. The superb layout gave we five adults privacy. No amenity is lacking for both personal comfort and cooking--we are impressed. Indoor and outdoor lighting has been well-thought out and very good. We stayed here in the dead of winter (including rain) and still enjoyed the beautiful landscaping. The very private backyard boasts an inviting hot tub, gorgeous choice of plants with a Zen garden, and decks just made for great outdoor living--grilling/eating and sitting. Greeter/agent Dori provides the right touch of hospitality and information about the area's dining/sightseeing.

The property is within the city, allowing for both walking and a quick ride to downtown. We took in a local movie and good Napa restaurants. The sights of both Napa Valley and Sonoma Valley are not far off and can be done in day trips.

Would we stay here again? Absolutely. The place quickly feels like home. How many times can one get such value for the money! We look forward to another stay--hopefully this best kept secret won't be rented! Otherwise, I'll have to lie in my next review.

      Hi Paul & Bill

We would like to thank you for letting us rent your Bungalow in Napa. Your Bungalow was as described, it was great. Very well maintained and Beautiful. Everything we needed was at our finger tips, great job guys. Dori was a superb Host. She answered all our questions and gave us some great tips. Everything was in walking or driving distance. We had the best of times, walking downtown Napa, doing the wine Train, traveling up and down Silverado Trail along with Route 29, tasting and sampling wines from many Wineries and taking in several wine Tours ( we purchased a lot of wine and shipped it home. We had one great day in San Francisco. We did alcatraz, Pier 39, Ghirardelli Chocolate and the Cable cars.

Thank both of you Very much

      Late Summer in Napa

Left on 10/11/2009 for a stay in August 2009

House, yard and guest quarters were fantastic. There was nothing we needed that wasn't included with the house. Clean, spacious and comfortable. Perfect vacation home. Bill, the owner, was very communicative and easy to work with.

The neighborhood isn't the greatest but at no time did we feel unsafe.

The property manager, Dori, promised us VIP wine tour tickets that we never received. She also specifically asked us to write something "nice" about her in the guest book, which we did not do. Her behavior was at times very unprofessional and was the only negative aspect of our stay.

Otherwise, I would highly recommend this home. It was perfect for two families as we each had our own space but also plenty of places to hang out and visit.

      Owner

      Hello Jennifer-

We read all reviews and take them to heart. We usually contact guests just after their stay to ask them what went well, what didn’t and what suggestions they might have to make our vacation rental even better. Many of those suggestions have been implemented. So, we took great notice of your review since we’ve never received a bad review since we opened two plus years ago.

First, we would like to thank you for your positive review of the bungalow and yards. We take great pride in providing comfortable and clean accommodations as well as a yard that is well manicured.

Second, we were quite surprised by your comment of our property manager, Dori. We have never had a negative comment about her. Reading our reviews, you’ll notice many of our guests speak of her with highest regards. Most have found her to be helpful, kind and informative, all being done with a smile. We have shared your comments with her.

We want to thank you for staying in the bungalow and look forward to seeing you again in the future.

      Best regards,

      Fantastic place to stay

Left on 08/23/2009 for a stay in August 2009

Our experience with Napa Vacation Bungalow exceeded
expectations from the very beginning. The rental
process was simple, and any questions I had about
the property were answered immediately. It was a
nice way to start what was to be one of the best
      vacations we have ever had.

I chose Napa Vacation Bungalow based on the
terrific website, photos, and stellar reviews -
and, when we finally arrived, the house was even
lovelier than expected. It is perfectly appointed,
and we did not want for anything. Everything we
needed, from kitchen supplies to bath amenities, to
entertainment and internet access, was provided.

We were met by Dori, the property manager, when we
arrived. She was lovely, and gave us a thorough
description of the house, the area, as well as
suggestions for where to eat, and local activities
that we might enjoy. She was there when we needed
anything, and her bubbly personality was the
      perfect welcome to our arrival.

Location is everything, and the house is situated
in the perfect spot. A short walk to downtown Napa,
which includes the developing riverfront, a number
of excellent restaurants and wine bars,
entertainment, and a public market; and an easy
drive to the heart of Napa wineries (Oakville, St
Helena, and Calistoga). Sonoma, the coast, and the
gorgeous Alexander Valley/Dry Creek region are all
accessible in under an hour (depending on which
route you take). And, after a day of exploring,
wine tasting, galleries, and shopping, there wasn't
anything better then returning to the house to cook
and enjoy dinner outside under the stars.

Incredible attention to detail, gorgeous decor and
landscape design, peaceful solitude, and a great
location made our stay unforgettable. It was
perfect, and we can't wait to return!

Our time spent at this home was fantastic. The property is ideally located close to the highway and downtown.
We were in town for a wedding and family reunion and shared the property with my parents. The layout could not have been better. Everyone was able to enjoy the living spaces and also have complete privacy in their sleeping quarters. We all loved the patios and garden. It was quiet and private and the flowers smelled divine.
The property owners have thought of everything. There were more than enough nice towels, pillows and linens for all. The kitchen is nicely outfitted with quality cookware.
Not a single issue or complaint. We would stay there again in a heartbeat!

We had an awesome time at this rental house. It was nice to be able to cook
own meals and not go out every night. The house was situated near everything
and you could walk downtown. Also the hot tub was a nice feature to be able
to unwind with a glass of vino after dinner and trekking in the valley. The
home looks newly decorated and tastefully done I might add. It came equipped
with everything needed. Dori, the host was also excellent. She had info for
pretty much everything Napa and also had connections and recommendations
for Napa and the area. Would definitely recommend this property to family and
friends. Don't hesitate to book. Thanks again and wish we could have stayed

      Napa Vacation Bungalow May 2009

Left on 06/11/2009 for a stay in May 2009

The house was very nice and cozy and my family and I enjoyed our stay there. The ameneties (jacuzzi, internet, laundry, flat screen tv, games, fully equipped kitchen, etc.) were very good and May was a great time to visit because of all the flowers in bloom in the garden. The house is very conveniently located in terms of visiting vineyards and golf courses, and it's walking distance from the center of Napa where the restaurants are. The neighborhood was safe although not necessarily in the nicest looking area, but the charm of the house makes up for it. The rental manager and owners were also very friendly and helpful, and it was nice to know I was dealing with professional people who genuinely wanted to make sure we enjoyed our stay.

Three couples vacationed together in Napa and we could not have asked for a more ideal place to stay. The bungalow was everything the website said and more. It was clean, spacious and inviting, with tasteful modern furnishings and an amazing garden filling all the back yard space. The neighborhood was quiet, and we felt right at home. Dori, the leasing liason was so cordial and helped us with restaurant suggestions and reservations, too. And we were so close to the routes to all the wineries we couldn't possibly get lost.
To prospective renters all we can say is, go for it! This is a Napa delight.

      The perfect Wine Country vacation!

Left on 05/18/2009 for a stay in February 2009

This was the perfect place for our vacation! For three couples who
want a great place to come back to after a day of touring the
wineries and just relax and cook dinner, there is no place better
than this house. The location is perfect; it's close enough for a
quick cab ride to the restaurants, clubs and bars in downtown
Napa, and provides easy access to routes 29 and 121.

The house itself is so perfectly appointed -- it's stylish yet cozy,
and is just the right amount of space. It was just a little too chilly
and rainy for us to take advantage of the hot tub, but it is situated
in a beautifully manicured yard that's quiet and inviting. The studio
in the back cottage is really lovely, too, and provides a lot of
privacy. We only had one van but there is plenty of parking. The
artwork around the house is a great personal touch.

Everything we possibly needed was taken care of by the owners and
the house manager, Dori -- she was fantastic! This was true
customer service, and we really felt like we were in a home away
      from home.

Don't stay in a hotel -- stay in this Napa vacation bungalow! We
hope we'll be back every year.
