The Bellbird is a great place to stay. The owners went out of their way to show me around and made me feel like one of the family.Beautiful views over Napier, and got fitter by walking the streets around their home. The bed was very comfortable, house extremely clean and they let me use their computer to catch up on my mail.Only drawback is the stairs which would not suit disabled people.

A wonderful warm welcome in a great location over looking the Bay with fantastic views. The rooms are well appointed and have great amentities.
The hosts knowledge of the area and its history is an added bonus. -

Great hosts, eager to share their knowledge and make you feel very welcomed. Large interesting home and garden. On a hill with beautiful views over the harbour. Walking distance to the town. Although a shared bathroom their is a separate large vanity unit in an alcove and toilet downstairs.

My niece and I stayed at this property for two days in early May. The hosts were friendly and hospitable, and were interested in where we had been. Kevin also took us on a tour of Napier and its beautiful art deco buildings, giving us a history of the city pre and post the earthquake in the 1930's. He made the city come alive and had some interesting stories to tell which were very relevant considering what is happening in christchurch at present. The home is clean, warm and a pleasure to stay in with its gorgeous views over the port.Great shower, comfortable beds, good food. We were impressed.

My wife and I stayed at the BellBird Bed and Breakfast for 5 days recently. It was a restful oasis on a hill-top with vistas across the region. The multi-levels of the house allowed you to find a place to be by yourself if you wanted, inside and outside.
We were looked after wonderfully by our hosts and felt very welcome and at home. From the Bellbird we could either go for walks down to the port or city, or drive to the many lovely places of the Hawkes Bay region.
We thoroughly recommend a stay there, you won't be disappointed.

Hi Kevin and Lois,
I just wanted to say I loved your kind hospitality during my stay with you both at the Bell Bird Bed and Breakfast.
Your set up offers fresh air, panaromic views (especially the outdoor bath the most perfect spot). Also the Bell Bird Bed and Breakfast has space for that added comfort.
This is the right place to stay if wanting to get away for a few days especially if attending events in the Hawkes Bay, a perfect venue.
But most of all you both are the perfect hosts with incredible knowledge of the area.
I have already begun to spead the word to my frends and family of just how wonderful the Bell Bird Bed and Breakfast really is.
Thankyou so much for wonderful memorable weekends.

I had the pleasure of spending two night at Kevin and Lois's place and was very taken by the experience, they are both wonderful people with a vast knowledge of Napier and the surrounding area. Kevins' superb tour of the art Decor buildings impressed us so much, we had a group of Canadians contact him on their tour of NZ.
Consequently this led to a group of very happy tourists.
Good stuff you guys, you do NZ proud.
