      Magical location

Left on 03/18/2013 for a stay in March 2013

We have stayed several times at Napili Point. The condos are lovely with well supplied kitchens. It is low rise with convenient parking. There is a beach within a short walk. The bay in front of the resort is rocky but good for snorkeling. The decks on the B and C levels have excellent views of Lanai and Molokai. In the winter, you can see whales.

      Aloha,

Thanks for your review. We are perplexed with your statement that the hot tub was broken as we do not have a hot tub on our property! Also, with respect to your comment “possible parking on the road for free” - please note that all guest parking at Napili Point Resort is free!

Is it possible that you stayed at another property in close proximity to ours where you experienced these things?

Location and Property Great - Unit B-37 Rental by Owner: beware!

Left on 10/02/2012 for a stay in September 2012

Rented directly from owner - won't make this mistake again. To be fair, the pictures on line are accurate and reflect the "lived-in" condition of the condo. The kitchen cabinets are newer, but the laminate counters are old, cracked and need to be replaced. Likewise, the furniture is old - the couch cushions are turned to the reverse side because the top side is so worn. There is no t.v. in the master bedroom, and the murphy bed in the second bedroom makes noise every time someone turns over. Still, this wasn't a tragedy - the place was clean and easy to care for and we weren't worried about ruining anything. What made this an inexcusable rental was the fact that Monday morning came with major construction noise next door - upstairs. For 3 days we had to be out of the unit all day because of the noise, as planned renovations were started. The owner of the renovated unit and the rental office staff informed us that the owner of the unit we rented was informed 6 months prior that this week was scheduled reno and that his property should not be rented during this time. Of course he never informed me of any of this when I made the reservation. Right now I'm dealing with the fact that I've been back for over 2 weeks and he still has not refunded my security deposit. I've spoken with him once and with his wife once. When I first spoke with him he said, "not a problem; I have 2 other refunds I need to tend to as well. All I need to do is call the credit card company and they'll issue the refund - should take all of 1/2 hour." So now, 4 days later, still waiting for the refund to show up, I called again and spoke with his wife, who promised he would call me when he got home today. It's 10 hours later and I'm still waiting for a call back.
Re: the location and property, both are 1st rate! The Honokeana Cove is full of beautiful coral, colorful fish, and more turtles than I've ever seen in 8 trips to Hawaii. The complex backs up to another complex adjacent to Napili Beach and within a 5 - 10 minute walk to Kapalua Bay beach and the Four Seasons. All units in the Napili Point complex face either the bay or the ocean. There is a rental office on site and the staff are efficient and friendly, even to people like me who rented directly from the owner. I asked the front desk to let me see a couple of units under their management and was pleasantly surprised by the much higher standards of quality in the places they managed. They offer an "over 50" rental rate which put their units at the same price point as the one we rented. They include daily housekeeping and currently have a promotion going with the 5th night of the stay free, which would have been more economical. So, bottom line, I'll continue to pursue my due deposit and will return to Napili Point resort again, but next time will definitely go through the property website and reservation desk and avoid the rental-by-owner and I would advise anyone reading this to do the same.

      Little piece of paradise

Left on 03/21/2012 for a stay in March 2012

Stayed here with my family and had a great time. We stayed in the two bedroom Oceanview unit, C-34. The view was spectacular and we loved watching the turtles and whales from our balcony. The pool was great and had a great view of the grounds and water as well. The grounds were well cared for everywhere we looked. I liked how quiet the resort was at all hours. The location is great for walking to both Napili and Kapalua beaches. We snorkeled with eight turtles at a time in the Honokeana bay that is adjacent to the resort. The condo was equipped with every imaginable thing you could need: from kitchen tools to beach gear (beach chairs and even a cooler). The resort even offered a senior discount for anyone over 50, yeah...The only small drawback is that the unit could use an update with maybe a new tub or furniture...but that is very minor. Great to have daily light maid service too. This is a place I would recommend to all my friends.

      We Love this Location

Left on 02/27/2012 for a stay in February 2012

We have been at this location since February 1. What a fabulous relaxing resort this is! We can sit on our lanai and whale watch, watch surfers, paddle boarders, sail boats, snorklers, dolphins, etc etc.
Listening to the surf as we fall asleep each night ia a treat beyond compare.
Two golf courses are within walking distance, a beautiful coastal trail is minutes away. Two beaches are close by, and the condo boarders a beautiful snorkling bay where we see sea turtles, gorgeous coral, and a multitude of different types of fish. Severzl restaurants are within walking distance as well, and the grocery store is only 1/2 a mile away. We are a short 15 minute drive to Lahania, a beautiful seaside town with numerous shops and services.
We have stayed in two different units, both ocean point, a one bedroom for my husband and I and then a two bedroom once the children arrived. The units are dated but well appointed with fully stocked kitchens in both. There is no air conditioning, however it is not needed as there are several ceiling fans and the ocean breezes do a fine job each evening. Housekeeping staff has been friendly and efficient, cleaning bathrooms daily and making beds, changing linens and doing a quick mop up. Trash and recycling is also removed each day. We have seen a few bugs, nothing to worry about, people should keep in mind they are in a humid tropical climate, bugs are the norm. My personal preference would be the bugs over the pesticides, frankly.
Our only disappointment was not receiving the number of 'free' nights to which we feel entitled. We arrived Feb 1, and had planned to check out Feb 29. We expected 4 'free' nights, as advertised every 5th night is 'free'. We are not including 7 nigts for presidents week in our calculation. In our inquiry to the manager, we were advised no free night will be given during presidents week, (which, we were told is from February 19 to Feb. 26) as per the manager. If each of these nights is blocked, there are then eight nights in presidents week. Additionally, we were advised by the manager, because we changed condos, we are not able to count two nights which we spent in our first unit??? Pardon me? We are paying Napili point resort, not the individual owners, and we booked through the resort, not the individual owners. This is the only negative comment I can offer, other than feeling rather cheated, we have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Napili Point.

      Owner

      Aloha,

Thank you for your review. We would like to address your comments with respect to the free nights. Your original reservation was for the one bedroom condo was from 2/1-2/28, so we extended you every 5th night free for the entire stay – including Presidents Day week where that special was in fact not being offered.

On 2/18, you checked out of the one bedroom and moved into a two bedroom for the remainder of your stay (to 2/28). Because all of our units are individually owned, this move had to be dealt with in 2 separate reservations. No longer were you staying 28 consecutive nights in one condo where you would have received every 5th night free. As a result, the free nights over Presidents Day week were lost.

We appreciate and value your continued patronage, and we look forward to having you visit our property again in the future.

Mahalo for your understanding and again, thank you for your review.

      Napili Point C18

Left on 10/06/2011 for a stay in September 2011

Napili Point is our favorite Maui location. The low rise complex is quiet, relaxing and right on the best turtle snorkeling cove on Maui. We have stayed in several units in the complex and C-18 is one of the nicest. Same owners rent C20 and it is equally as nice - both units are newly remodeled. The kitchen has every amenity you could want in a vacation rental and the furniture and beds are very comfy. When we are "home" we spend almost all our time on the lanai and the views are fabulous. Very common to spot 4-8 turtles bobbing on the water surface any time of day. I highly recommend both units and we will definitely be back next year.

      Fantastic vacation rental

Left on 07/31/2011 for a stay in July 2011

This resort has it all! The snorkeling outside our front door was amazing. We swam each day with multiple sea turtles and beautiful fish. We walked to the sand beach around the corner, grilled on the point with an unbelievable view of the ocean, and enjoyed the swimming pools. We loved this place and would recommend it to anyone interested in being away from the crowds, yet close to Lahaina. My family of five stayed in unit C-23 and had plenty of room. Great place!!!

      A Vacation Paradise

Left on 06/14/2011 for a stay in May 2011

After spending considerable time searching for a location at Napili, I found a Vrbo site, for Unit 21 at Naplili Point in Maui. The owners were extremely co-operative and informative from the first correspondence and provided us with excellent information on the location and the surrounding area. My wife, myself and my oldest sister arrived to find our Paradise away from home as everything and more than we expected. The unit was tastefully decorated, and plenty of room for the three of us. Appliances were great, everything you could want in a condo, and extremely comfortable. The setting was unbelievable. Our second story unit had a more than adequate lanai, and the view into Napili Bay right at our doorstep. The bay was abundant with turtles, and we quickly scampered down to snorkel surrounded by these wonderful creatures of nature. A short walk (5 mins) the beach. What an outstanding little bay, private, not overly crowded, and beautiful water. Another place to snorkel with a fantastic reef close to shore, with every kind of fish you could imagine in the tropics of Hawaii. The Gazebo restaurant next door is always a treat for breakfast and lunch, and although there is always a lineup, the wait is pleasant in the outdoors with the vast ocean in front of your eyes. We can't wait to re-visit this spectacular location. Thanks to the owners, David and Ellen for sharing with us.

Awesome place to stay for a family vacation

Left on 03/27/2011 for a stay in March 2011

This a great place to stay for a family vacation. The condos (we booked 2 for a week) were clean and well supplied with everything needed for a relaxing time. The ocean view was fantastic. Super snorkeling in Napili bay--scads of sea turtles! Good restaurants close by the resort. Nice a quiet most of the time, but close to Lahaina for many activities. The staff was extremely helpful. We'll stay there again for sure!
