A comfortable and convenient base for exploring Naple's historic

Left on 04/17/2013 for a stay in April 2013

We were a group or five.My husband and I were accompanied by our daughter and two teenage grand daughters. We were delighted with the accommodation. It was spacious, comfortable and very well appointed.
At all times Sonia was most helpful in assisting us: including arranging travel to and from the airport. The weather a glorious 21 degrees (ideal when you are doing a lot of walking)was a great contrast to the minus 2 degrees wehad left in England. But i cannot guarantee that Sonia can always arrange that for you!
We were here to see the historic sites, so the apartment's
situation a short walk from the station was very convenient.
Via Tribunali is anarrow street bustling with traffic and filled with many shops and restaurants. There is inevitably some litter and one needs to take care with the traffic but it is full of character. As in any big city one always has to take care but we were met with friendliness from everyone, particularly in the shops and restaurants and taxi driver.
After busy and tiring days sight seeing the apartment was a haven of peace to come home to.
We all had a thoroughly great time, and would love to make a return visit.

      Nice, well-located apartment

Left on 01/20/2013 for a stay in January 2013

The apartment is just as described, and centrally located: not exactly near any of the major areas, but walkable to most of them. The address is a bit confusing, as there are two sets of numbers along the street. Google Maps puts it in the right place, but my Garmin couldn't find it. We didn't much use the kitchen, but there are many places to get ingredients on the street right there.

      Excellent appartment - dodgy city.

Left on 01/12/2013 for a stay in December 2012

This is a very convenient appartment with an excellent standard of accommodation. It sleeps up to six in comfort. The kitchen is also big enough for six to eat. It is very clean and comfortable. It is on the top floor of four) with an inside courtyard, but there is a small lift. It has a handy DVD but no Wifi.
If you are sure want to stay in Naples, most likely as a base to visit Vesuvius, Pompeii and Herculaneum, its ideal, with a fifteen minute walk to the station from where you can conveniently take a train straight to these quite fantastic sites.
We hired a car and drove into Naples. Big mistake. The streets are narrow, other drivers and motorcyclists impossible and it is very tricky and expensive to park. I had ideas of driving to Pompeii and Herculaneum, but gave that up at once. I should also say that the City itself, may be "interesting" and even historic, but it's filthy, graffi-ridden and crime-infested. On our first day we had to fend off one minor con and a more determined attack by pickpockets. Other tourists we met were also attacked by pickpockets (watch the trains in particular). We were also unable to find anything like a normal supermarket. If I went again I would look for accommodation outside of Naples, and give the place a miss. However, if you want to experience the city, Sonia's department is a great place to stay. It has a big thick door too, with plenty of locks, which we were glad of after we got to know some of the Neoplitans.

A home from home in the heart of Naples

Left on 11/08/2012 for a stay in October 2012

This was our second visit to this apartment: first a weekend, this time a week.

Sonia was as welcoming as before, and the apartment spacious and comfortable. We set out to enjoy the food from local restaurants, as well as cooking our own from locally bought ingredients. Total success on both fronts. The quality of food available within 100 metres of the apartment was phenomenal. Try the nearby butcher, even if it's just for sausage, and the fish from just down the street - clams, swordfish, langoustines, tuna, all fabulous, all fresh.

I should add that we could not possibly have afforded to spend as we did on food and wine if we had stayed in a hotel of comparable quality.

After a week, we almost felt we lived in Naples, and I can pay the apartment no higher compliment than that.

Elegant Vomero apartment from which to enjoy Napoli

Left on 07/03/2012 for a stay in June 2012

Sonia's Vomero apartment was elegant with wonderful Italian design in the kitchen and bathroom and very comfortable beds. Our family of 5 adults were pleased to call the apartment home during our Napoli visit. The immediate neighborhood has plenty of shops to pick up fruit, coffee, bread and lovely pastries. The apartment is a quick walk from the "downtown" section of Vomero. Sonia was very professional and had good information to pass along to us about navigating Napoli.

      Perfect!

Left on 04/28/2012 for a stay in April 2012

Our family of six adults, ranging from 24 to 74 years old, found the apartment to be perfect - spacious, clean, and well-equipped. Sonia was right on time to meet us and to show us around. While the building itself is from the sixteenth century, the apartment is like new.

We traveled from Rome to Naples by train, and the apartment is a fairly easy walk from the train station, about .5 km. It was helpful to have checked directions ahead of time, though, as there are some twists and turns, and one might get lost otherwise. There do seem to be at least two sets of address systems in use on the street, which would account for difficulties in locating the apartment that were referenced by previous guests. The apartment building seems to be an older #169, with the number etched in the building to the right of the large arched entrance to the building courtyard.

Tiburnali and area streets are full of shops with everything one could want or need. Restaurants abound, and we were never disappointed. There are also internet cafes nearby. The mostly one-way streets are narrow and bustling during the day, with pedestrians sharing the street with the cars and mopeds/motorcycles. The noisy during the day, this area of Tiburnali was relatively quiet at night.

We completely enjoyed our stay in Naples and will be delighted to return. Thank you, Sonia. We hope to meet again.

      Fabulous apartment.

Left on 02/02/2012 for a stay in January 2012

This apartment is a great value - very specious, very clean and very comfortable. It is on 4th floor so lift is added bonus. It has everything that you would need, including well equipped kitchen. Plenty of food shops around.

We are family of 4, two adults and two kids. The apartment was almost too big for us. It was lovely to have all this space. Kids loved the mezzanine bedrooms and I loved 2 bathrooms.

Sonia was very helpful and very easy to get in touch with. She waited for us outside the apartment and made us very welcome.

Apartment is located in the old part of Naples - very interesting area, almost like stepping back in time. Initially we did find it bit confronting, but it grew on us very quickly. All these little streets around are definitely worth exploring.

      Great stay in Naples

Left on 01/23/2012 for a stay in January 2012

We are a family of two grandparents, two parents, an uncle and an aunt and an infant - all had a great time in Sonia's lovely central and comfortable apartment.

Sonia collected us from the airport with a minivan including a child seat, which was most helpful and made our stay very easy. The apartment is lovely and clean and was a real home away from home.We loved the location - right on the main street of the old town with lots of great restaurants very close. Thoroughly recommend it!

Great apartment and a gracious host

Left on 10/13/2011 for a stay in October 2011

Sonia was the nicest and most responsive host we met on our month-long trip to Europe, during which we stayed in several apartments.

The location near the Duomo in the historical center of Naples was perfect for us. The apartment is very nice and open, quite large and very clean, with a view down onto the wonderfully energetic streets of Naples (if you're familiar with Naples, you know what we mean by "energetic" - we love the throbbing life force of this very friendly, non-touristy city). The apartment was very quiet despite the busy streets, due to its location high up in the building (the lift was very nice to have).

One note... the beds are very firm, but we like them that way!

      Central, spacious and comfortable.

Left on 10/12/2011 for a stay in October 2011

Like a previous reviewer, we had a slight problem with a taxi driver who seemed to have no idea about numbers on the via Tribunali: maybe info about a nearby landmark building or street junction would be useful prior knowledge.

However, as luck would have it, we were dropped off pretty close by and soon found Sonia waiting for us with a warm welcome and a quick guided tour of the apartment. It proved to be everything three visiting foodies could have wanted: spacious, comfortable and well-equipped without being luxurious, and within walking distance of almost everything we wanted to see and do, including some fabulous restaurants. We had wonderful food and fabulous wine for lunch and dinner for around the price of a UK pub meal, and never used a taxi apart from the trip from the airport, (and only had pizza once!)

In the heart of friendly, noisy, vibrant, in-your-face Naples this apartment is a real home away from home.

Comfortable and in central part of old Naples and close to every

Left on 08/16/2011 for a stay in May 2011

Your taxi driver might have trouble finding this apartment, but Sonia turned up for us just when we thought we could be lost.
The area is a bit gritty - we were there just as a garbo strike was ending - with much beeping traffic on the narrow street and scooters grabbing the pedestrian space. But the mums with toddlers and pushers cope - in 24 hours or so, so do you.
The street is packed with enotecas, wine shops, butchers, green grocers and hybrids of all of them. We ate in every night - prosciutto, cotto, fresh mozarello, the most beautiful tomatoes, fresh sausages plus Sardinian vermentino, local aglianico and local beers.
The apartment is comfortable, spacious and central. We walked everywhere except to Pompeii and Procida, plus one funicular ride.
Four adults fitted into the apartment with ease, helped by the 2 double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Excellent value, comfort and character.
