AN ISLAND IN THE ISLAND

CASALORA is an ancient country ville, located in a panoramic area on the Punta Imperatore promontory on the island of Ischia.

Originally built for wine harvesting, it was later transformed into a farm holiday centre.

Surrounded by vast natural areas, partly cultivated with orchards and partly gardens and fields,there are several secluded places for total relaxation.

When the weather is good, the meals (breakfast and dinner) are served beneath a pergola where you will enjoy the most spectacular sunsets.

The cuisine is based on local products and typical Neapolitan dishes with their traditio...nal tastes and odours.

Rooms

CasaLora has 5 comfortable rooms,all with private bathroom,1 suite and 2 little apartments with kitchen and panoramic terrace, overlooking the view of sea, country and mountain.

Garden

When they are not exploring the beautiful island, guests at CasaLora can relax under the shady pergolas in the huge garden;

commanding splendid views over a vast stretch of sea and the steep slopes of Monte Epomeo,

it contains numerous orange and lemon trees,fruits trees

and perfumed shrubs, such as lavender and rosemary.

Steam bath

The presence in the garden of a steam bath,which makes use of a hot spring,is one of the many pleasures available to the guests at CasaLora, allowing them to indulge in a relaxing, healthful activity.

Swimming pool

for the guests of CasaLora there is a new swimming-pool,

surrounded of olive-trees,and coloured flowers,near the steam-bath,

for a total relax!

Cuisine

If you wish to dine in, CasaLora offers dishes with typical Mediterranean flavours,made with natural ingredients and prepared

according to Lora's family traditions handed down from one generation to another.

During the warmer months of the year,breakfast and dinner are served outdoors, under charming pergolas in a convivial setting.

Additional Location Information

CasaLora is located in the western part of the island near Forio, which has preserved a noteworthy historic centre. Among the most
interesting buildings, we recommend theChiesa del Soccorso, built in the 16th century on a headland jutting out into the sea,
the Torrione and the other seven towers,strategically placed for spotting invaders,and the "case rupestri" (cave houses),
carved out of the characteristic green rock.
A few kilometres from the city centre, on the Zaro hill, La Mortella, once the residence of the British composer Sir William Walton,
has now been opened to the public: the beautiful gardens comprise over 800 species of rare plants, many of them tropical.

Ischia offers a wide variety of beaches,meeting different tastes and requirements.

CasaLora suggests a visit to: Cartaromana,south of the Castello Aragonese, characterized by black rocks; the Spiaggia degli Inglesi,
a small beach off the beaten track; the Spiaggia dei Maronti, recently restored to its former splendour; the Spiaggia di Citara
and San Montano Bay, home to the Poseidon and Negombo spas respectively, surrounded by luxuriant vegetation; Sorgeto Bay, where
hot springs gush directly into the sea,the wild beach of Cava dell'Isola, the young people's favorite one.

There are numerous other places of historical interest to be found on Ischia.

How to reach Ischia

Ischia is an island in the Naples Gulf. One can reach it from Naples by ferryboats and hydrofoils. The ferryboat takes about 90', the hydrofoils about 45'.

Who travels by car must catch the ferryboat that leaves from Naples (Molo Beverello) and Pozzuoli.

Who reaches Naples by train or by plane may also catch the hydrofoil that leaves from Naples (Molo Beverello and Mergellina).
