Description from the owner
Mulberry House is a completely renovated 1000-square-foot 19th-century carriage house located in the heart of Nashville. Nestled behind a three-story Victorian "painted lady," it is designed especially for travelers who prefer the ambience of a guest cottage to that of a large hotel.
The 1880s portion, which includes the large bedroom, a bath with both tub and shower, and a fully equipped kitchen, features the original bead-board ceiling and rustic wood-plank walls. This older period section is enhanced by the new addition, a 500-square-foot great room complete with crossbeams, demi-lune window and cathedral ceiling. This spacious, lig...Read more

Craig H
Wilmot, New HampshireExcellent large cottage accommodations with attentive owners
Left on 10/31/2012 for a stay in October 2012
My wife and I lived in Nashville for 20 years and have always stayed with friends on our
return visits. This time, we wanted to be "tourists" and searched online for hotels, inns, and B&B;'s. The Mulberry House caught my attention during this search and we booked
our 3 night stay with the owner, Catherine Snow. While the description and pictures
were flattering, the adage "seeing is believing" was more than apt here as the cottage is
truly a joy to behold. Catherine and her husband Doug were very attentive to detail when
they remodeled this former carriage house. The great room is spacious yet comfortable,
well-lighted and well furnished, allowing us plenty of room to entertain a group of 9 on
one of our nights. There is a full kitchen, well stocked with dishware and cookware.
The bedroom and bathroom are quite large. Of note are the decorations, many of which
came from Catherine's gallery from when she ran an art business. No detail has been
overlooked, including stocking the kitchen according to the renter's breakfast and
snack preferences, a large towel supply plus his and her robes in the bathroom, a
working bathroom fan, many booklets and brochures on things to do in Nashville,
a discount card for grocery shopping at Krogers, and wi-fi for those who need to be
online. The cottage location insures privacy and the owners are careful to be available
but not intrusive. Finally, the proximity of the cottage to downtown Nashville, the
Vanderbilt University area and to Green Hills shopping is hard to beat.
We enthusiastically recommend the Mulberry House to any couple looking for a
short or longer term stay in Nashville. -

Mableton, GAPerfect for weekend getaway!
Left on 09/25/2012 for a stay in September 2012
My husband selected this cottage for a weekend getaway to celebrate our five-year wedding anniversary. It was the perfect pick! It is so beautifully decorated and had all the amenities we wanted. We loved having the kitchen already stocked with everything we needed to make breakfast each morning. Catherine had even purchased "five-year" aged Gouda cheese in honor of our five-year anniversary, it was such a special touch!
The cottage was so comfortable and the perfect size. It was nice that the owners' house is right there on the property so if you need anything, you can just knock on their door. The fence around the cottage gives privacy.
We loved it and would definitely stay there again if we are in the Nashville area! -

I knew this was a good choice, not just from the tempting photos on-line, but also the friendly e mail messages we had before our stay from the owners.
Mulberry House is a holiday home with such a welcoming and luxurious appeal. It was hard to leave the many thoughtful comforts of the house, but worth it to explore the nearby 12th avenue, or a walk around Radnor Lake.I'd recommend this place to everyone, but then want to keep it secret just for us. -

Mulberry House was the ideal place to reconnect with my daughter. We were both meeting in Nashville to celebrate her recent engagement. The cottage was wonderful. Catherine added so many beautiful touches as our hostess. I would recommend Mulberry House to anyone. We feel like we've found a home in Nashville for all our future visits.

Hatfield, PAWonderful time at Mulberry House
Left on 10/09/2011 for a stay in September 2011
My husband and I celebrated our 20th anniversary here and had a terrific time. The cottage has everything you could want. It is spacious, extremely clean, well lit and comfortable. Catherine and Doug are the most friendly, gracious hosts. They stock your kitchen with delicious bread, eggs, cookies, yogurt, home made granola, fruit, cheese, crackers, soda, beer, milk, etc. Evey day, we had at least one meal in the cottage and absolutely loved it. The bathroom is like a spa with both an old fashioned tub and a shower and every type of shampoo and lotion you could dream of. There are even his and her robes to relax in. Because the Mulberry House was already booked for two nights of our 4 night stay, we had to spend two nights in a downtown hotel. Even though it was a lovely , top rated Nashville hotel, we both agreed when we return, it will be to the Mulberry House!

Ithaca, NYLuxury, comfort and convenience plus all the amenities.
Left on 10/05/2011 for a stay in October 2011
Nestled in a pleasant grove of trees in the heart of Nashville this extraordinary B&B; was an exceptional find. Consisting of a separate and roomy, carefully restored carriage house, comfortably furnished, decorated with beautiful and exotic antiques and art, we had a difficult time extricating ourselves at the end of our four-day weekend. Our hosts Catherine and Doug provided all the amenities from lush towels to silky bed linens, on par with the finest hotels. For entertainment we had full cable tv (movies), wifi, and stereo and for breakfast and snacks we were provided with home-made granola and all the fixings to prepare a full breakfast in a modern and fully equipped kitchen. We had all the comfort, privacy and conveniences, even a washer and dryer. Of the many places around the world we have stayed, this was as good as it gets!

Washington DCThe Perfect Retreat
Left on 06/13/2011 for a stay in April 2011
We spent 2 wks at Mulberry House and it was a wonderful, healing retreat for my husband post op open heart surgery. Catherine and Doug are the loveliest people and made sure that anything and everything we needed was there. The carriage house (cottage) is perfect...comfortable and cozy but with plenty of space. Being surrounded by the beautiful garden and quiet street made for a peaceful environment perfect for rest and relaxation. It is close to everything though...a perfect location for visiting downtown or the Universities. We are so grateful Mulberry House was there during the critical recovery period. Doug and Catherine are the perfect hosts. They respect your privacy but are available to help with whatever you need. The carriage house is an oasis in Nashville! And Catherine makes the best granola...
