Set in a serene and tranquil location, this cottage gives you a delightful island experience. A luxurious and spacious room with views of your very own private pool await you. Amenities include fridge, microwave, coffee pot, closet space, cable television, wireless internet and air condition. A gas grill is also located near the pool area and bar. Your privacy is ensured with enclosed fence and very high hedges.
Located within minutes from the beach, a horse stable, food store, Dominos Pizza and the airport. Car rental is available from the airport, which will be your best method of transportation. Free parking is also provided.

Peaceful, private "cottage" in a quiet Bahamian neighborhood. Off the beaten path, but very convenient - ideal for independent travelers interested in an alternative to the Paradise Island experience. Wonderful hosts - will cook a traditional Bahamian dinner for their guests one evening during the stay and have plenty of recommendations for exploring the island. Small convenience/grocery store nearby, refrigerator, microwave and toaster in room with outdoor gas grill and bar. Excellent wifi access. Very much enjoyed the private, lighted swimming pool.

We stayed at the Hibiscus during the month of January while we were in town for the marathon weekend. The cottage was quiet and comfortable, which was just what we needed. I particularly liked the way it had been decorated, with dark wood accents, fresh tropical flowers and long white curtains. Everything we needed was inside the cottage, including a coffee maker, microwave, a small fridge and dishes. The wireless internet access worked well, and the television was hooked up to cable. Whenever we needed clean dishes, we left the dirty ones outside and they were cleaned and returned to us within a couple of hours. We didn't get a chance to use the pool as much as we would have liked, but we did lounge by the pool and read while enjoying the sunlight and the tropical landscaping. The owner, Inae, and her husband, Daron, were very friendly and hospitable, and they gave us the kind of attention that we most likely would not have gotten at a hotel. If we had questions about anything, they were happy to help. On our last night, they prepared a wonderful dinner of traditional Bahamian dishes. I'd recommend the Hibiscus for anyone who wants to stay someplace quiet and lovely and away from crowds of tourists. However, you will need a rental car as the property is located in a residential neighborhood and a car is needed to get anywhere. I can't say enough good things about the cottage and the hospitality, and I would happily stay there again.

We stayed at the Hibiscus appartment from the 12th to the 18th September 2012. My mom and I had a good time there. The pool was very nice and clean as well as the appartment.
I would recommend to rent a car since the island doesn't have many busses and it provides flexibility. You can park your car in a car port on the property. The neighbourhood is quiet and safe. It gives you a break from the mass of people in big hotels or cruise ships in the port of Nassau.
The appartment provides a couch, a queen size bed, a little kitchenette (microwave, coffee maschine, small fridge and a toaster), a bathroom (shower, toilet and sink), a TV as well as a closet and air condition. The table is outside by the pool under a roof. It is actualy like the photos hat she posted on this page.
Inae (the owner and very nice lady) welcomed us warmly and showed us around (local gas station, super market, restaurants etc.). She and her husband even cooked for us a delicious meal one night. I really recommend this place to all people who don't like huge hotels and mass of people. We felt very welcome and had a good time.
