My family and I recently rented this ocean front villa for a week's vacation. The house was absolutely beautiful with French doors that opened up to breath taking views of the ocean. The villa was exactly as listed on the website. It was clean, with plenty of room, and all the amenities needed for my family.
The house is located on a quiet, very upper class neighborhood. The house has a small private beach. Water shoes are definitely a must to navigate the rocky shoreline. The water is clear, warm and filled with all kinds of fish. My three-year old niece had so much fun looking for shells and discovering the many colorful fish. The water is shallow enough for young children, and there is a larger beach within a 5 minute walk with plenty of shallow water and sand bars.
The house is located about 30 minutes (or less) from downtown and Paradise Island. We rented a car and were able to enjoy downtown and then get back to our "island get-away" in a matter of 30 minutes.
Martina was very personable and helpful. She was always a phone call away to answer questions about directions, shopping and dining. She checked in to make sure my family was comfortable and enjoying our stay
There are so many things to like about this ocean-front house. It's perfectly located, private, and the ocean breezes are the best. My favorite part of the day was sitting on the porch and watching the sun rise. Oh, and falling asleep to the sound of ocean at night. There is also a walking path along the beach if you want to enjoy a morning walk.
This was the best vacation house my family has ever rented. We were so sad to leave. I don't think I was able to capture the beauty of this house in words. You just have to experience it for yourself.
We cannot wait to come back! Thank you Martina for sharing your piece of paradise with us!!

We toke our 3 kids (10 to 16 years) and 3 grandmothers. We had plenty of room. The location is great for relaxing and the best for snorgling with kids. The kids were able to swim along side of rays and moon fish. The house is exactly like the pictures beautifully and very clean. Everything you need is there. You must use Mr Darling to drive you around, he is reasonable, always available and a pleasure to listen too. Thank you Martina!

Four of us stayed at Martina's house. The house is beautiful and sits in a perfect spot with a beautiful deck for ocean viewing. But..Here are the problems. The house needs maintenance. Here are some examples: Lack of light bulbs in bathrooms; bath tub spa out of order; buzzing electrical outlets; door knobs broken on outter and inner doors; microwave oven door broken in two places; no sink strainer; only the master had a dresser to put clothes away; kitchen not stocked for more than 4 people even though there is enough room for at least 8 people. My husband and I received many bites from something mysterious in the bed or bedroom?? Martina was very helpful with directions to get to the house, but left us on our own to find it. We were also asked to leave early on the last day because others were coming in and they needed to clean the house. None of us that stayed there would recommend this house to anyone else.

I am a bit in shock to say the least after having read this review. Additionally I am surprised because all previous and within returning guests liked the house.
My number one policy is to provide my guests an enjoyable and comfortable stay. Good maintenance is the first to achieve this. I always check the house before guest arrival to make sure that everything is there and that everything is in working order.
None of the complaints mentioned in this review were brought to my attention throughout my guest's stay. I have seen and spoken to the guests on numerous occasions and was assured that everything is fine and that they are enjoying their stay.
As a result of this review I have brought in an exterminator who did not discover any findings. The electrician has fixed the one buzzing outlet, switched on the tripped breaker to the bath tub and had to replace one worn out light bulb. There are no broken door knobs. The microwave oven door is not broken. The kitchen is sufficiently stocked for more than 10 people. The sink strainer is next to the sink. All rooms are equipped as shown on the pictures. Each room has it's own closet and the Master bedroom has a walk in closet.
If my guests rent a car we meet at the airport car rental counter and I drive ahead in my own car to lead the guests onto the correct road.
If my guests are being picked up by my taxi driver, Mr. Darling, they are brought to the house.
Check out time is (as stated on the website) 10 am, Check in time is 3 pm. Only if there is guest arrival the same day as departure I kindly ask my guests to please check out at 10 am which otherwise I never ask.
Having commented and taken care of the risen issues I hope that my present, repetitive returning and all future guests will enjoy their stay at the Oceanfront Villa and the Bahamas.

The house was a perfect location. 10 minutes from downtown Nassau. It was so nice to zip into town and enjoy the business and come home to relax in quiet bliss. The view is spectacular.
The house has everything you could ever need. I have never rented somewhere so well equipped before. There is even a blender so we could make our own margaritas! The house is literally 3 minutes to a nice beach. (you do need water shoes) but the beach was shallow and warm great for our little one. The house is in a neighbor hood that is safe and the neighbors are very friendly. Martina is amazing. She met us at the airport and was extremely helpful both prior and during our trip! The house is nice and big which was perfect for our group of 5 (3 adults and 2 children). The grocery store is a few minutes away and had a decent selection for an island grocery store.
I would without a doubt recommend dealing with Martina. You wont be disappointed. We look forward to renting from her again.

The house is great. My favorite part was sitting on the back porch watching the waves and relaxing. Martina is great. She wants you to have an enjoyable vacation. We had a small issue and she was immediately there to take care of it. It was a great place to snorkel. We even saw a baby sting ray. If you want to relax and snorkel then stay here.

The villa is spacious, clean and comfortable with spectacular views. We stayed with a 4 month old and had no issues. Location was perfect for us - close enough to the tourist attractions but secluded for privacy. Correspondence with Martina was quick and easy. She answered all my questions and was very helpful. I would definitely recommend this villa and will stay here again.

The home had an incredible view and was steps from the ocean. The highlight of our day was returning from visiting other sites on the island to the tranquility of just sitting on the back porch watching the ocean. Martina was really good at suggesting things to do during our trip and was available for our questions. They had to pry my fingers off of the door handle of the house when it was time to go. I can't wait to get back to the Bahamas and to this wonderful home. I had never rented a vacation home before and I was very happy this was my first experience with a clean, comfortable home. For the snorkelers, the break wall in front of the property had some good fish sightings at high tide and we found plenty of sea treasures (shells).

I don't know were to start. The vacation rental was absolutely beautiful and looked exactly as displayed in the pictures. It felt like home away from home. The publich beach was a short walk and we spent everyday visiting. There was concern regarding the water filtration system on the Island and Martinia explained how the filtration system worked and accomodated our concerns by changing the filter and adding a little chlorine to the water. The sun rose around 6:15 am and it was asolutely beautiful from the back porch and watching the moon rise and glitter over the ocean in the evening was just as breathtaking. Every night there is a slight breeze and no mosquitos. It was fascinating watching high and low tides and feeding the fish(bread) right in the back yard. On the public beach down from the villa we saw stingrays, octopus and various small tropical fish. During low tide the sand dunes are revealed and you can sit out practically in the middle of the ocean. The location is beautiful and driving in Nassau is not difficult at all. There is rush hour traffic and some aggressive driving. Gas and food is a expensive so be prepared.

I feel as if I had a friend that let me borrow her home. No question was unimportant to her. Her guidance on our trip was greatly appreciated.
The home is wonderfully maintained. It sits along a short private road that it shares with two especially large, luxury homes. This area is away from the hustle of the tourist areas and is filled with many beautiful homes. The rooms are large and properly furnished for a visit. A rental car was important for us to get where we wanted to go.
The ocean is close enough that throwing a rock from the porch to the water is a simple task. While there is plenty of sand for the kids to play in, this is not what I’d call a sandy beach. Some sort of protective swimming shoes make walking on the beach more comfortable. The water is clear, beautiful and ready to swim in. If you want to walk from you room to the casinos and restaurants, stay at atlantis. If you want a beautiful home, super close to the water in a luxury neighborhood, this property and its hostess will not disappoint. -

As I write this review, it is with a heavy heart that I am back at home instead of back at that villa.
I, like many other travelers, was absolutely skeptical in regards to vacation rentals. After hearing horror stories of scams surrounding vacation rentals, this was not the route I wanted to take. However, if you've done any research you'd know that a decent hotel in Nassau is extremely expensive for a trusted hotel room free of bed bugs and dirt. Not to mention what dining at a restaurant every single day, for every single meal would cost. So, I resigned to the vacation rental route and I absolutely do not regret the experience, or meeting Martina.
Martina was extremely patient with me, as I questioned her extensively with questions such as "is this a scam!?" and "what's a secure way to pay?" She's well-mannered, friendly, and I personally couldn't ask for anyone better to work with regarding a vacation rental. She made everything simple.
For weeks I kept returning to the site until the day of our departure, excited about the pictures. As soon as we stepped up to the house, it was like entering into a dream. It felt surreal. I felt so familiar with the house already because of its pictures, but still breathless as the pictures did no justice to the beauty that the villa holds. Everything was clean, spotless, and shiny. Spacious is an understatement for how big this villa was.
As I stayed in the master bedroom, I awoke to the beautiful sunrise each morning for 7 days. We snorkeled and saw so many fish, it was exciting. No commute necessary either. We just walked right on out of the villa each day! We barbecued for dinner most days, and ate on the picnic table in the back watching the sunset. It was absolutely amazing.
Although the villa is kept on the east side of the island, it is easy to access the downtown markets and Paradise Island. Less than a fifteen minute drive and you'd be in a different world packed with tourists. We loved being able to come to the peace and quiet of the villa. Absolutely a home away from home.
Martina provided everything in the villa, and there was nothing that we could be disappointed in. Every pot, bowl, plate, utensil needed can be found in that kitchen, along with every appliance. The water pressure was incredible as well. We couldn't find any flaw with the villa, except the fact that you have to leave it. On the very last day, I almost shed a tear as we waved goodbye. Should I hit the lottery, I'd definitely buy the villa and move to the Bahamas. :-) At the very least, we'd definitely rent again.

Our stay at the villa was wonderful. Martina is very helpful and accommodating. We have 3 boys (9-13yrs),a 1 year old, and a young senior.The house is suited for all types of families. Our boys went snorkeling everyday and we could watch them from the porch while enjoying our morning coffee. The beach is rocky, so I do recommend water shoes. There is a small amount of sand to play in as well. We enjoyed the knowledge and insight our taxi driver provided us, along with excellent service. With our family of 7, the taxi cost did add up, but we felt it was well worth it. FoodStore2Go delivered our initial groceries and a playpen, for a very reasonable cost. Wish we could have stayed longer!

We stayed at the Oceanfront Villa from 30 July to 6 august 2011. The owner Martina is terrific to work with and was a great help. The house was perfectly ready for us to use. It was spacious and well equipped for our visit. Nice bedrooms, TV service, kitchen, wireless internet, air conditioning, ceiling fans in some rooms, etc. Very comfortable.
The house sits on the eastern end of the island in a residential area (very quiet). Next door is her other rental house which is smaller. Both are very pretty on the outside and have nice yards and parking.
The backyard - where to start! The view is amazing. The sea breeze from the east is present all day. It's very warm on the porch in the morning but shady all afternoon. A grill is provided for charcoal cooking, which we used. The back porch is roomy and has chairs to hang out on. We spent each evening there enjoying the view. The steps lead down past the palm trees to the rocky beach. The breakwater provides a nice spot with no waves for the little ones to play, but you can swim just off the breakwater in the channel area. Snorkeling is great there with lots of small fish to see. We walked the nearby shores for shells nearly every day and found lots of variety that the kids enjoyed.
Overall I would stay there again in an instant. We were sad to leave. The house was great and the area very nice. A short drive from town and grocery shopping made it convenient, but you could get away from tourist crowds and traffic in no time.

I spent one week at this rental house, with extended family (6 adults and 2 teenagers). Martina was an excellent source of information, and she answered my one million and one questions by email. In planning this trip, I was not sure if I wanted to stay at a hotel or rent this house. My main concern was would the house be safe. It is definitely in a very safe and quiet neighborhood, and I never felt unsafe at all. In addition, by staying at a house instead of a hotel, the vacation was much more relaxing and enjoyable for us all. We had home-cooked meals, and used the grill in the backyard (the kitchen had everything we needed). We spent a lot of time at the back porch with beautiful views, and lovely sunrises. We went snorkeling right on the water at the back of the house. A nice small beach, that was never crowded, was just a 2 minute walk away. All the rooms were spacious, and all the three bathrooms were full bathrooms. The house was very clean. We rented a car, and I definitely recommend doing so. The grocery was less than a five minute drive away. We drove wherever we wanted. We enjoyed all the sights and activities downtown and at Paradise Island, while staying at a beautiful and comfortable house! Martina was the best landlady!

This was a beautiful villa in a great location and right on the ocean. If you are just looking to relax in the wonderful Bahamas sun, this is the perfect house. The house was very spacious, comfortable, spotless and relaxing! You can't beat the beachfront access and the view was beautiful, especially the sunrise and sunsets from the porch! The surrounding neighborhood was beautiful and perfect for a morning walk down to the Prince Charles beach. Downtown Nassau and Paradise Island was just a short drive away for an enjoyable day-trip. Our rental car provided great convenience and we were able to explore the many pleasures Nassau had to offer. Martina was very helpful and was very informative on activities and things to do. We had a wonderful time! We'll definitely be back to stay at the Villa!

Right from walking in and seeing the ocean views through the big French doors we knew we were where we wanted to be. The house was clean. The spaces are roomy and bright, but still offer cool breezes as needed on warm days. You just can't beat the beachfront access and exposure. Waves, water, wind, moon, stars, sun ... all part of the 'usual' at Oceanfront Villa. Martina was a gracious and accommodating landlady. She was not obtrusive, but always available when we needed her. We highly recommend this home for a stay, long or short.

This was a beautiful home in a great location if you are just looking to relax in the wonderful Bahama sun. Downtown Nassau was a short (15 minutes) taxi ride away for an enjoyable day-trip, but we were very content to just soak up the beautiful weather. The house was roomy, spotless and very comfortably equipped. We loved being able to open all the doors and letting the fresh air breeze through the house. The surrounding neighborhood was beautiful and perfect for a morning walk. We had a wonderful time!

Right on the ocean, with its soft sounds, the house was wonderful. Nassau is a short public transport ride away. Our rental car provided great convenience though and we were able to explore the many delights Nassau has to offer, at our convenience.
The house was clean and well apointed. Our stay was wonderful.
