Description from the owner

Built during the turn of the Century, somewhere between the late 1700's and early 1800's, the newly restored White Turpin House has withstood the test of time in its location across from the renowned King's Tavern in the downtown historic district of beautiful Natchez, Mississippi. White Turpin, the man after whom the house is named, served as the last Territorial sheriff and as the first sheriff of Adams County from 1812 to 1819, after coming to the area in 1808 with his good friend Governor David Holmes.

This spacious cottage served as Turpin's townhouse and is now proudly owned by his gggg-granddaughter, Kendell Coney Horton and her...Read more

      Wonderful place to stay

Left on 04/22/2011 for a stay in March 2011

We stayed at White Turpin house twice and truly enjoyed it. Peaceful, relaxing, good location. She always has it decorated for the season and home made cookies waiting for us when we got there. The beds are very comfortable, the house warm and inviting with a great porch.

When we return to Natchez, we will be staying here again.

It was way better than we expected! Home away from home.

Left on 04/05/2011 for a stay in April 2011

The White Turpin House provided more than we could ask for in a B&B.; Some friends and I were skeptical at first because we had never stayed in one before. It was certainly better than staying in a hotel. The owners were very friendly and accommodating when they walked us through the house. The freshly baked cookies was an excellent touch because it felt more like home, rather than just a place to stay. They provided everything we needed and even some that we did not even think about - like breakfast at the Natchez Coffee Co.. The smallest details that it took to make the house beautiful showed in the design and layout of everything. The historical feel of the house was only complimented by the modern items here and there. The location was perfect because it is in the middle of the city and everything was just a short drive away. I will definitely recommend staying at The White Turpin House. No questions asked.

      A Wonderful Bed and Breakfast

Left on 09/09/2010 for a stay in September 2009

This is a must visit retreat if you plan on visiting Natchez. The accommodations were superior and Kendell knows her history of Natchez and of our mutual relative White Turpin. We had the great pleasure of being her first guests to this unique home. We had a wonderful time.

If you like your privacy and want a cozy place, this is it!

The White Turpin House and Kendell, the owner, had the charm, the grace and the southern hospitality that one would expect to find in Natchez. We found the description of the house was accurate. We loved the house and we loved Natchez.

The front porch is perfect for relaxing while having a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. It was within walking distance to all of the downtown shops and restaurants.
