Our family stayed in #1602, we had a lovely time and would do it again. We have been coming down to Summerwind for 15 years, this year we used Southern Vacation rentals and it was perfect check in and check out. Our favorite part is always the pier. Least favorite is leaving.

The penthouse lived up to its reputation for being the best! It is very nicely decorated, not tacky which is what caught my eye in the first place. Excellent location near the pier with a lot of options for activities: beach, fishing, swimming, gift shop with snack bar, fitness center, restaurant at pier, walking distance to waverunner rentals, bike rentals, etc. Loved the large, well-appointed kitchen, the patio/balcony and hot tub, and the convenience of the keyless entry. Only regret is that we couldn't stay longer! Southern Vacation Rentals rocks! We experienced great service from the website to phone calls, checking in and out. Can't wait to go back!

I was very excited about renting this condo. The pics were wonderful and so were the reviews. We hadn't been on vacation in ages, so we decided it would be worth the price. I am sorry to say, but for us it wasn't. Overall the place was nice and clean, but it's the little things that make all the difference. The toliet stopped up within the first 30 min of our arrival. After calling maintenance 3 times we were told
someone could be out in the am to fix it. The am? Gross! Another phone call did produce someone that evening,
however. We were all grateful for that! Then there was the shower rod/curtain in the master bath that fell everytime I touched it...the hot tub never worked right and it looked as though a cover was missing from the filter. One bedroom had a DVD player, but no cable to connect it. And the garbage disposal insert would fly out when you turned it on. I also thought it amusing when I received a phone call from the rental agency to leave our parking passes in the room upon checkout. Excuse me? We never received any passes! And last but not least, it clearly states on your rental contract that check-out is 10:00am. Housekeeping
was at our door before 9:00am. (Hello! Still trying to get
outta here...). They were very friendly and apologized for
disturbing us. Then, a few min later, they came back and
asked to leave all their supplies in the room for later. Sure,
why not? And I really mean that, after all, that's a long way
to carry all that stuff. So...in my humble opinion, for the
money we spent, all the little things added up and turned
out to be very disappointing for us. No, it didn't ruin our
vacation and no, it was nothing drastic. I just expected more from a penthouse suite. On the postive side, the furniture was very comfortable...the kitchen was very nice. The view of the ocean was beautiful. The location of the condo is
great...easy to find. -

We traveled from Georgia and spent one week in this unit. We loved the easy check-in / check-out. There were four adults and eight children. The condo was clean and well decorated. The kitchen was beautiful and had everything we needed, even an under the counter ice-maker. Although it was too windy on the balcony during much of our stay, we enjoyed sitting in the hot tub in the evenings and cooking on the grill we bought (the only thing the unit needed). It was a wonderful trip, a great unit, and we can't wait to return!

The location of this condo complex is fabulous, as long as you're looking to get away. It was so wonderfully peaceful. The grounds were well-kept; the pool area was great; and the beach was beautiful. The unit itself was breathtaking. The furnishings were lovely, the layout great. The deck was the piece de resistance. We would have spent the entire vacation out there if it had been just a bit warmer.
