This charming property has one double bedroom with en suite and is an ideal romantic retreat at any time of the year. Situated just outside the pretty village of Nawton and a mere four miles from Kirkbymoorside and Helmsley is this delightful cottage – a cosy stone-built detached property. This building has been lovingly restored from its former role as a stone barn and now provides 'upside-down' accommodation to take advantage of the southern aspect. The beamed, sloping ceilings of the living area with French doors that open onto the balcony makes this a property full of period character. The amenities of Helmsley, Kirkbymoorside and... Pickering are all close by, making this a well-placed cottage for a peaceful holiday in North Yorkshire.

Off road parking for one car. Garden bench outside the cottage. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shops 4 miles. Open air markets on a Wednesday in Kirkbymoorside and on a Friday in Helmsley market square. Pub 1 mile. Note: Children are not accepted at this property.

Region: The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.

Town: Three miles from the historic market and castle towns of Helmsley and Kirkbymoorside is the small, pretty village of Nawton. Lined with stone built cottages, the main street through the village has an excellent pub which serves food, a fish and chip shop and a pub that has been converted into an Indian restaurant. Set amidst the stunning countryside of the North York Moors, the area is full of great walking opportunities whilst the nearby towns of Helmsley and Kirkbymoorside provide great shopping with their wealth of quaint tea rooms, individual shops, galleries and good restaurants. The market town of Pickering is just 10 miles away and hosts not only Pickering castle but also the North York Moors Steam Railway. Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the "Winter" period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the "Low" and "Mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday. "Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.

  cottage was well equipped very clean up to date decor.owners were very nice. situation of cottage was very good for seeing all the local sights . apart from cottage we felt was situated to close to the owners own home which meant it did lack privacy

  This is an unusual place to stay (a converted tack room)set down a lane in beautiful countryside. The bedroom and bathroom are downstairs and the kitchen/dining area and lounge are upstairs. The accommodation had recently been converted, so all the fittings and furniture were new and of a high standard. The owners were on site at the farm, and were very helpful, but you still retained privacy. The accommodation was well heated and very comfortable. We would definitely stay there again if we were in the area. It was well located and Helmsley is a lovely market town only a few minutes drive away.
