A stunning villa on the Greek Island of Naxos with fabulous views towards the sea and countryside, approximately 7 minutes drive to Naxos town and the popular town beach of Agios Georgios. It is situated in a very peaceful location with private access, on the road which leads from Naxos town towards the village of Kato Potamia.

The villa has been designed in the traditional cycladic style and has whitewashed walls with wooden doors and blue shutters. Terraces encircle the villa to take advantage of the sunshine or shade, and of the inspiring views towards the sea and the surrounding hills.

With three bedrooms, each with twin beds,... and two shower-rooms it is perfect for family holidays in the sun. The ground floor is open plan, with a sitting room, inside and outside dining areas, and a fully equipped kitchen. The villa is fully furnished with central heating, double-glazing, and marble floors.

From the villa's location it is easy to access the island's beaches. The town beach of Agios Georgios is a popular, family-friendly beach with shallow waters and white sands. The most spectacular beaches on the island are along the southwest coast and are long and sandy with crystal clear water. Although popular during high season, they are never overcrowded. More remote beaches can be found on the eastern and northern side of the island, and also at the southern tip. These are reached by following the road from Naxos town.

Most of the locals live in the inland and mountain villages, making their living from farming and agriculture. There is no tourism development away from the coast and it is in these small villages that the traditions and culture of island life can be experienced.

Some of the villages are reachable by bus from the port, but it is far better to explore the island by car or scooter. The bus service to the villa's location is limited, even in high season. Independent transport, such as a car, quad bike, scooter or even bicycle, will be required by those living in the villa. These should be pre-booked, in order that they may be available for collection at the airport or ferry port on your arrival. If you require any assistance with vehicle rental, please let us know. The quality of the roads is generally very good and outside of Naxos town, they are not busy. Road maps are readily available and you will find some in the villa.

Naxos is justifiably renowned for the quality of its home-grown products such as potatoes, fruit and olives. Excellent cheeses are locally made and the many stock farms are a source of fresh meat and poultry. We can highly recommend the local Naxian sausage, perhaps washed down with a glass of the local Citron liqueur.

There are several sites of historical interest on the island, including the famous Portara, part of the unfinished Temple of Apollo, the Venetian Kastro and the Byzantine monastery of Panagia Drosiani.

Hora and the coastal and inland villages are all well served with a range of quality tavernas and bars.

  Potamia Villa is ideal for a quiet and relaxing holiday. The house is superb, and contains all that you need for a vacation rental.
  We stayed over the winter period, and the central heating kept us warm and cosy - although it did take a few days to warm up. That said, we could enjoy breakfast sitting outside on some warm and sunny mornings - wonderful for that time of the year.
  The location is good - not too far a drive from Naxos town, whilst also easy to get to the inland villages - great walking.
  The view of hills and sea are superb. Nearby to the house there is a large garage / vehicle wreck storage facility, but this does not distract too much from the general character - it is a working area.
  We enjoyed the frequent feline visitors to the house.
  We think a small improvement would be comfier chairs/sofas inside - but this may relate to the fact that as we were there in winter, we spent more time inside than out - summer visitors may not find this an issue.

  Thank you very much for kind review. We do try to provide all that guests will require, and suggestions are always welcome. Certainly, from Spring onwards, we would expect that guests will spend little time indoors.
  
  The garage is not adjacent to the villa but is set some distance away on the main road from Naxos town. The private road up to the villa runs past the garage and then continues on to the villa, past the small local farms with whom we share the hillside.
  
  We are very pleased that you enjoyed your stay and hope you will consider staying with us again to further explore Naxos.

  Idyllic and peaceful surroundings close to a typically Greek tow

  We have stayed at this lovely Villa twice previously and have booked it again for this april. It is in a great location, just a short drive into Naxos town and for visiting surrounding towns and beaches. The villa is situated in peaceful hillside surroundings with a fantastic view. We found it to be clean, modern and spacious with a fully fitted kitchen and large outside BBQ. There is also the choice of going into town to sample the local food. We hired quad bikes to get into Naxos town and had great fun, but there was also a wide variety of car hire places as well. Naxos town has a wide choice of good restaurants and bars, either on the waterfront or tucked into little alley-ways and it has managed to avoid becoming too commercialised, retaining its typically Greek character. We loved the Villa and Naxos and would certainly recommend it. We are looking forward to this year's visit!

  The villa is conveniently situated for those who want to have easy access by car to the main town (10 minutes by car), some of the most popular sandy beaches and the inland unspoilt villages. It has lovely views from the terrace towards the sea. It is well equipped and comfortable. We found the owners' recommendations for beaches, restaurants etc useful. We had a really relaxing and enjoyable family holiday here and would highly recommend it.

  Potamia villa is a lovely villa with plenty of room for 6 people. It has great views over Naxos. It is 10 minutes drive from the town and beachs so you do need to hire a car to get around.
  It has good out door areas with excellent deck loungers and table and chairs. The interior is very comfortable.with an excellent kitchen. The drive way is very rough at the top but is to be improved soon.
  Overall we found it very comfortable and relaxing and we enjoyed Naxos greatly.

  Relaxation in the Sun

  Great location in the hillside just out from main town, with beautiful veiws over Naxos towards Paros, with wonderful sunsets. The Villa was very clean and comfortable, and we were are able to enjoy both indoor or outdoor dining. We found it an ideal location for reaching all the villages within Naxos Island, where we found some excellent local resturants. Handy folder in Villa giving you places of interest.
